Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 253: Volume 4 Chapter 32 Betrayal (12)

Under the stunned gaze of all the prisoners, Tian Xingjian took down the game controller, closed the cell door, casually picked up an energy gun, and walked toward a cell not far away.

The once-dancing automatic patrol guns, which spun around like puppets under the control of mechanical arms, now seemed lifeless, staying still as the eerie Fatty wandered through them. Every prisoner realized that a jailbreak shocking enough to rattle all of Gazalin was unfolding right before their eyes.

A prisoner from cell D7 was already waiting at the door. Seeing Fatty approach, he opened the cell door that had been wedged shut with an iron piece and stepped out. The other prisoners in the same cell, intimidated by the energy gun in Fatty’s hands, wisely maintained the necessary silence.

Soon, more than thirty well-trained Freedom Fighters emerged from their cells in batches as planned, picked up energy guns, and occupied every corridor and staircase. Tian Xingjian had completely taken control of the entire cell block. Next, nearly twenty Imperial Nobles, including Prince Sidney and his eldest son Leonardo, along with sixteen high-ranking military officials, were freed.

These nobles and military officials still had a dazed expression as they walked out of their cells. Although they had known about this operation in advance, when everything happened miraculously before their eyes, they were still shocked! Looking at the guards’ corpses strewn on the ground, at the quickly and orderly moving Freedom Fighters, at the wretched Fatty, everyone felt like they were in a dream.

One couldn’t rely on the combat capabilities of the nobles, and most of the high-ranking military officials were past the age where the sight of a woman could excite them. The days of carrying a gun were as distant as a previous life. Therefore, Tian Xingjian had Elliot divide them into two groups, issued each a gun, and their role was cannon fodder or to watch the prisoners during the Freedom Fighters’ battle.

Tian Xingjian harbored nothing but malice towards these Gazalin people whom he risked his life to rescue. In his eyes, their lives were worth less than his own, and he wouldn’t hesitate to abandon these unlucky bastards at a critical moment to escape himself, leaving only a few behind if necessary.

All the energy guns were gathered, and even the automatic patrol guns were ordered by Tian Xingjian to be dismantled. Before the Freedom Front outside launched an attack on the prison and the transport ship arrived, Tian Xingjian had to lead the prisoners to hold the entire cell block.

However, even as all the Freedom Fighters grew impatient with waiting, no attack came.

Fatty had initially estimated that it would take about five minutes for the guards outside to detect the abnormality in the cell block and begin their attack. Because Fatty had taken over the surveillance system that shared a mechanical arm with the automatic patrol gun, the central control room was only viewing a frozen frame right before the guards fired, with no one knowing what was actually happening in the cell block. The guards’ reaction time was enough for the Freedom Fighters to arm themselves and take over the cell block.

Afterward, dozens of Freedom Front squads were prepared to simultaneously attack military targets in Tanville, throwing the entire city into chaos and mobilizing the stationed troops to cover the Freedom Front’s main force’s assault on the prison. With internal and external coordination and with the support of a medium-sized transport ship, the prison break from Abnosk Prison could be completed before the enemy reacted.

But now, something was clearly amiss. From the north window of the prison cells, there was no sign of the Freedom Front initiating the attack. Instead, heavy fighting was already occurring in the southeast, which was originally planned to be a diversion by two companies.

The surroundings of the cell block were dead silent; the guards outside seemed utterly unaware of the abnormality inside or were simply all dead. There was no attack, the broadcast was silent, making the atmosphere oppressively eerie.

Fatty was dumbfounded. What on earth was happening?

***********************************************

It was not only Tian Xingjian who found this strange, but also the three guides leading their teams for the attack.

According to Tian Xingjian’s assault plan, the Freedom Front’s attack was to be divided into two parts. The main force would attack from the north side of the cell block, advancing from an abandoned farm less than two kilometers from the prison, while before the main force moved, Tian Xingjian would control the cell block and use the automatic patrol guns to kill some guards, reducing the main force’s pressure.

Additionally, the fighting arena in the southeast part of the prison was to serve as the Freedom Front’s feigned target. Two companies’ heavy fire support would shift all the guards’ attention to the protection of Emperor James. Coupled with the chaos created in Tanville City and the Electronic Camp’s intrusion into Tanville’s air defense system, the plan was extremely meticulous.

In Fatty’s words, as long as the main force and the cell block faced no problems, the operation would be fifty percent successful!

The remaining fifty percent depended on whether the transport ship disguised as a royal vessel could successfully enter the prison within the half-hour that the Electronic Attack Camp controlled Tanville’s space defense system!

All other actions were Fatty’s insurance for his survival!

But no one knew that a jailbreak and a rebellion would both be launched at the same time.

Before the Freedom Front initiated their attack, the mercenaries who had split dispersed a few days ago suddenly appeared in the prison area. After a simple assembly, they launched an attack. Their target was the fighting arena of Abnosk Prison!
