Armed Train in the Apocalypse

But it’s still better than being cornered by a Tier Two White Snake.

Su Huan now had a direct understanding of He Jie’s ability to train troops.

Two hundred gun-wielding, non-tiered Evolvers, equipped with light firepower, cooperating with several Tier One Evolvers, gained the ability to combat Tier Two beasts.

Although there was the factor of Lin Jin going berserk, it was already impressive.

This Tier Two Giant Bear was equivalent to an all-terrain tank that could run and jump, with fur tough enough to withstand bullets and individual rockets, extraordinary sensory perception, and a cunning personality like a human.

If placed in a pre-apocalyptic urban area, not even a medium-sized synthetic infantry company could take it down.

They might even get wiped out.

To deal with it, you’d have to figure out a way to trap it, then suppress it with an anti-aircraft machine gun like the Iron Rain 14.5, using anti-tank missiles and vehicle-mounted grenade launchers without sparing any expense.

But ordinary people’s reaction speed definitely couldn’t keep up with it; if not careful, it would tear through the defenses.

Night had fallen completely, and more than a dozen high-power searchlights illuminated the entire battlefield with every detail.

Outside the base, it looked as if an earthquake had struck, a mess everywhere; even one-meter-thick barriers showed numerous cracks, and none of the off-road vehicles were usable anymore. They needed to be towed back for major repairs. The soldiers did not lower their guard, forming teams of two or three, taking turns to bandage wounds and rest.

They also sent some of the troops further away for alert.

Although it couldn’t compare with the well-disciplined, well-trained pre-apocalyptic military,

He Jie indeed trained an effective armed force.

Su Huan was very satisfied with the evaluation results and announced loudly, ”All new recruits are promoted to reserves tonight, and those who performed exceptionally will receive extra points.”

The soldiers cleaning the battlefield were stunned upon hearing they had been regularized.

Instinctively, they thought of the 60 automatic points they would receive monthly as reserves.

The Armed Corps’ points had strong purchasing power; about 2 points could get a pack of cigarettes, a 340g can of luncheon meat, a pack of five instant noodles, a new outfit, or a large bag of a thousand sheets of toilet paper.

In other words, by spending frugally, 60 points could cover an adult’s living expenses.

But as soldiers of the Armed Corps, their living expenses were basically covered by the train.

The 60 points were extra benefits.

If spent carefully, it could even support an entire family!

This was why they endured He Jie’s drills every day and fought so hard to stay.

One soldier could feed the whole family!

The next moment, a thunderous cheer erupted in front of the base.

And the figure of the train conductor had long disappeared over the wall.

Seeing the cheering soldiers, He Jie couldn’t help but grin. Having his personally trained troops recognized by the higher-ups gave him a sense of pride.

Several soldiers came running over.

He Jie immediately shouted with a stern face, ”What?!

The soldiers, remembering He Jie’s formidable combat skills, awkwardly stood in place, ”We wanted to share this happiness with you, Brother Jie.”

”Yeah, yeah...”

More and more soldiers gathered around.

Seeing their mischievous looks, He Jie pulled out a stun baton from his back, pointed it at them, and grinned menacingly, ”So, now that you’re regulars, you’ve got bigger wings, huh? Think I don’t know what you want to do? Go on, try me all at once if you dare!”

Seeing his angry face, ready to strike anyone who stepped forward, the soldiers hesitated.

Nine strikes per second was no joke.

Watching their indecision, He Jie couldn’t help but feel a little smug, knowing his authority was still deeply ingrained in their hearts.

’Don’t think you can upend me just yet.’

Suddenly, a forceful kick from behind sent him flying.

In mid-air, He Jie’s eyes widened, and he couldn’t help but roar, ”Old Liang, you damned traitor.”

Liang Kuan chuckled and waved to the surrounding soldiers, ”The rest is up to you guys.”

The soldiers shouted, ”Brother Kuan is awesome!” and rushed in.

They unleashed a flurry of tactical boots at He Jie.

Liang Kuan didn’t linger to watch; he pulled the scarred corpse of the giant bear back into the base.

Soon, the chaotic battlefield gradually calmed down, with soldiers groaning and lying all over the place. He Jie stood tall, holding the stun baton, though the shoe prints on his face detracted from his imposing image.

Only a few remained standing.

Among them was a woman codenamed Mongoose, her round pupils constricted into oval shapes, fingers rhythmically moving behind her back.

Watching He Jie stride toward her, his stun baton raised high.

She suddenly bowed deeply, ”Thank you, Instructor, for your guidance during this time. But when my rank surpasses yours, I’ll still make you apologize.”

”Hmm?”

Hearing He Jie’s perplexed sound, Mongoose’s face showed a sly smile, ready to sneak attack.

The next moment, she felt a sharp pain in her back, accompanied by He Jie’s furious curses.

”Idiot, in combat, you use wisdom, not cunning. Exposing a vital spot, are you expecting me to hold back?!”

”Is just becoming a reserve soldier making you this proud?”

”There are at least eleven levels between you and me!”

”How do you plan to close that gap?”

”By flaunting your foolishness?”

”By climbing into the train conductor’s bed?!”

He Jie hit especially hard this time.

The sound of blows seemed never-ending.

Before long, the battlefield echoed with a woman’s broken cries of pain.

While He Jie was enjoying the beating, a discontented sigh suddenly reached his ears, snapping him back to his senses.

He regretfully slapped his own face lightly.

What a blunder.

Luckily, Yu Yue wasn’t the type to hold grudges. If it were someone who liked to whisper in ears, wouldn’t the petty train conductor make life miserable for him?
