Armed Train in the Apocalypse

So what’s the point of having Wan Hao as the station master?

Even though Shun’an Station is nominally under the direct control of the Armed Train, Su Huan doesn’t intend to worry too much about its future development.

However Shun’an Station develops is a matter for Wan Hao and the Shun’an People to decide.

Human nature is hidden behind the skin, not to mention that the Armed Train might be hundreds or thousands of kilometers away from the station in the future.

Relying on loyalty and friendship is simply ridiculous.

And it’s the year 2035, people no longer care about loyalty anyway.

However, as long as the Armed Train brings benefits to Shun’an Station, Shun’an will continue to provide convenience to the Armed Train.

Like what Wan Hao promised before, skilled workers, custom parts, and so on.

This is a reasonable way to maintain a relationship.

It’s also something Su Huan recently learned from restructuring.

But this method can’t just be faction to faction; it needs to fall on specific individuals.

With this individual, the connection won’t break.

Hu said, nodding, ”Understood, this news will be spread tonight. Oh, by the way, Conductor, recently the Iron-Eating Tree Couriers want to have a deep cooperation with us.”

”Iron-Eating Tree Couriers?”

Electricity flickered at Su Huan’s fingertips, pausing the movie in front of him.

”This is the news Lieutenant Lu Xiao just brought back. It’s that young man who used to trade with us often. He’s leading a group now and has mastered the method of manipulating the Iron-Eating Trees. They’re accumulating resources through bartering and have formed a new faction, called the Iron-Eating Tree Couriers.”

Su Huan chuckled silently, not expecting his arrival to accelerate the formation of the Shun’an black market.

”We can give them some support; anything interesting happening in Shun’an lately?”

”Because we’ve cleared out a lot of zombies, the atmosphere in Shun’an has relaxed a lot, and survivor activities have increased, leading to the emergence of small factions and strongholds.”

”That’s good, no need to pay them any mind. If they have something we need, let’s just trade normally.”

Su Huan said calmly.

Hu frowned, ”But there’s a particularly arrogant faction, that group of outsiders. They’ve gathered over a thousand people now, with two hundred core members, and they’re ruthless. Those smaller factions were created to counter them.”

Ruthless?

Factions still relying on ruthlessness can’t even catch the Conductor’s eye now.

”Ignore them too. By the way, how long have Tong Zizhan and his partner been gone?”

”It’s been three days now; they should be at the provincial capital by now.”

Hu replied.

Su Huan licked his teeth. This task was arranged specifically for the two of them.

Just north of Hongyi City is Guangren City.

Two top scouts, Tier One Evolvers lounging at the base every day, what’s the point of that?

Su Huan wasn’t worried about them running away.

He was more familiar with the Blue Data Collector’s rules than Tong Zizhan was. Without valuable information, those two would still need to go undercover, not knowing what dangers they’d face.

The Armed Train was only active in the Acid Rain Zone for now, which could be considered a relief.

Compared to the intense Heat Zone, the Acid Rain Zone is much more suitable for survivors.

If it weren’t for knowing the Flood Zone was just beyond the Acid Rain Zone, Su Huan would have doubted if the natural disasters were just like this.

”What has Xiaoba traded for recently?”

Hu swiftly flipped through the folder in his hands, glanced at the list, and then handed it to Su Huan.

”Mostly snacks, toys, and children’s goods.”

Looking at the list, Su Huan sighed inwardly.

Despite his influence, Xiaoba still went down the path of becoming an orphanage director.

As for whether the war orphans would pose a threat to him,

the Conductor hasn’t considered it at all.

”He lacks experience, you and Wan Xing should help him a bit.”

”Got it, we’re keeping an eye on it.”

Hu said with a slightly relaxed smile.

Su Huan downed the coffee in his cup, ”The communication device from Professor Ma should achieve results today, right?”

”Actually, two days ago it already showed results. To be on the safe side, we’re verifying it over the past two days. If there are no issues, we can try making a batch for Major General He to take out for field testing.”

”Let’s talk while we walk.” Su Huan stood up and left the office, ”Finally, after so long, the communication device is about to be completed.”

Hu followed a step behind, laughing, ”After using pen and paper for a month, I’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to use a phone.”

They descended to the second floor.

Professor Ma’s lab was there; the whole second floor of the stepped building was his.

The space was at least a hundred times bigger than on the train.

Upon entering, the previously cluttered equipment immediately became orderly, and even the hard drive cabinets that looked like a jungle turned simple and aesthetic.

About a dozen students and experts brought in during this period were standing in the hall, surrounding a spherical device that was mostly disassembled.

It was the Pan-energy Monitor they conveniently brought back from the Steel Council.

A while back, Professor Ma failed again in his research, so he applied to dismantle the Pan-energy Monitor.

Director Xu didn’t quite agree, but Su Huan ultimately approved it.

Professor Ma didn’t disappoint his trust and really made some breakthroughs.

Hearing footsteps, the crowd turned around to greet Su Huan.

Su Huan nodded in acknowledgment to a few familiar faces.

Like Little Box.

”Hasn’t Lin Jin been here for the past few days?”

Little Box pursed his lips, carrying a trace of grievance, ”He went to accompany Major General He.”

Su Huan laughed, ”I’ll have He Jie’s wife bring him home tonight.”

Seeing Su Huan in a cheerful mood, the crowd let out a few chuckles to play along.

Professor Ma and Xiaozhao also rolled out the newly developed communication device.

Seeing two trolley-sized carts, Su Huan couldn’t hold back, scratched his head, and managed to suppress his urge to make fun of it.
