Chapter 1426: Kingdoms’ Reactions

Atracaeca Kingdom.

The grand protector couldn’t help but furrow his eyebrows after listening to the news. ”This...”

One great protector came forward while saying, ”Are we going to interfere with another country’s problem?”

The grand protector shook his head. ”Forget it. This matter is simply too dangerous. The Muivell Kingdom is in turmoil, even though the demons are knocking on their doors.

”Still, this might be an opportunity as well. Once they sort out their trouble, they might be able to stand in a united front and fight the demons.

”We won’t participate in this kind of problem. However, it’s not like we won’t do anything either.

”For now, our country will see this with great interest. Make sure to keep up with all the news.

”Depending on the outcome of this matter, our kingdom will have our own attitude toward the Muivell Kingdom.”

All the great protectors bowed, acknowledging the order.

...

Zaecuria Kingdom.

The king squinted his eyes while glancing at Duke Briton.

”You have been in the Ardagan family’s territory for so long. What do you think about this matter, Duke Briton? Do you think that the marquis will do something about this matter?”

Duke Briton closed his eyes, pondering the answer. After a minute, he replied, ”I apologize for making you wait for my answer, Your Majesty. However, this matter can’t be explained casually.

”Although I had the opportunity to stay in his territory for a long time, I rarely met the marquis himself.

”However, with all the encounters I had with him, I believe that Marquis Ardagan is not such a person.

”He is patriotic, but at the same time, he is not loyal.”

”Patriotic but not loyal? Isn’t this contradictory?” The prime minister rebuked.

The war minister shook his head. ”This is not contradictory. If you may, please listen to this small story.

”There was a kid who came from the Flower Kingdom. He fought against the Tower Kingdom and got defeated. As a result, the Flower Kingdom became a part of the Tower Kingdom.

”Then, the sovereign of the Tower Kingdom asked him to serve the country. The youth fought bravely on the battlefield and earned merit.

”Yet when an opportunity came, the youth participated in the rebellion to overthrow the kingdom, only to fail at the last moment.

”Because of his merit, the king spared him and the youth continued to fight for the kingdom because the kingdom also contained his hometown. He guarded the kingdom and the hometown to the last breath.

”While the youth might not originally be from the Tower Kingdom, he also became a citizen of the Tower Kingdom. He could fight for his homeland but didn’t have the loyalty.”

When they heard the analogy, they fell silent. Duke Briton shook his head. ”Although the analogy is quite good, I don’t think it’s accurate to describe Marquis Ardagan. Because for him, there is no Muivell Kingdom... There is no Zaecuria Kingdom, there’s no Greenwood Kingdom, there’s no Atracaeca Kingdom.

”The only thing in his eyes is humanity. He’s on the side of humanity, fighting against the demons. As long as it can help the fight against the demons, he is willing to do anything.”

The king and the others looked down, falling into a deep thought. The king ultimately decided, ”We will not disturb the Muivell Kingdom. Let it do whatever it needs to do and wait until the storm is over. Make sure to keep track of the demons surrounding the kingdom.

”If the war is indeed true, we might see some clues soon.”

”Yes, Your Majesty.” The ministers lowered their heads.

...

Greenwood Kingdom.

The king furrowed his eyebrows after reading Livia’s letter.

”Your Majesty... Her Highness...” The prime minister looked worried.

”Your grandson is truly troublesome, you know that?” The king let out a long sigh, staring at Raincart.

”Ahahaha.” Raincart scratched the back of his head. ”I can’t say much about it, but we have received so much from him, including the Spirit Awakening Pill.”

”Indeed.” The king nodded. They definitely received a lot. First were the airships that had become popular in the kingdom.

The second one was the pills. He had distributed them to their top experts, and the result was marvelous. It was no wonder why Noel could become strong.

Last but not least, the rune division. Because of Livia, they were able to understand rune much faster than the others. If there was someone who could invent a new thing based on runes after the Runegard company, it would be their kingdom.

That was why the Greenwood Kingdom had been willing to spill their own blood to help Noel.

The king glanced at Raincart, asking, ”What do you think we should do here? It doesn’t look like your grandson is going to participate directly.”

”Naturally, we will do nothing.” Raincart smiled. ”Although I haven’t seen him a lot, I understand his personality.

”He’s not the type of person who will raise an army to start a rebellion. With something like this happening, it might be another scheme from him or maybe from someone else.

”I believe we should wait and watch the show. Once we know how it’s going to unfold, we can make the decision after that.”

The king looked at his ministers. Although they looked passive, they should respect Noel’s decision as well. The letter had stated that there was no rebellion, so it should be viewed that way.

In the end, the king decided to do nothing out of respect for Noel. But if the latter asked for help, he would definitely send a huge army to march into the Muivell Kingdom.

...

Demon Banner Army.

”This spells trouble.” Oscar squinted his eyes. ”It has only been a few years since the last one. And it’s been a few years since I sat in this position... Normally, the commander of the Demon Banner Army wouldn’t witness two succession battles since that seat will be inherited long before it happens.

”But look at this, it’s just been a few years and I’ve witnessed the second one. At this rate, I might end up witnessing the third one before retiring.

”Then again, the biggest uproar will be in the north. I wonder how those northern lords are going to react. With Noel Ardagan at the helm, I’m afraid they will be a bit excited.”
