Chapter 1411: Unexpected Encounter

”How are you? Are you hurt anywhere? How is your progress?” Noel asked.

”Can’t you see how I am?” Anna let out a small laugh.

The two were just walking on the street together. Anna hugged his arm, showing that the lord and the madam were doing fine and the family was harmonious.

People might be worried that Anna hadn’t been seen for a few months, so having her show her face wouldn’t be a bad idea. Besides, they could finally enjoy their time together.

”That’s true, but...” Noel looked away.

”Hehehe. I know, I know. I’m doing alright. There’s no need to worry about any injuries. Besides, my spiritual energy won’t lose against you now.”

”Is that so? We will have to check whether that’s true or not.” Noel smirked.

”What? It’s been a while, but do you want to have a sparring match?” Anna grinned. ”I can show you that I’ve grown stronger this time.”

”That’s fine by me, but that can wait until two days later. You must be tired after a long journey. I want you to take a proper rest first. Let’s see... what do you want to eat today?”

”Are you going to cook for me today?” Anna grinned.

”I will go to the kitchen. Your order, my lady?”

Anna came closer and whispered, ”Let’s see... I don’t want you to cook for me. Instead, why don’t we spend today on a date?”

Noel’s expression brightened. He was definitely not against the idea. With a smile on his face, he pointed forward. ”In that case, shall I escort you, my lady? I have seen several new shops in our beloved city.”

”Oh my. It’s my pleasure.”

In the end, both Noel and Anna spent the entire day strolling around the city. They tested several restaurants or even went around food stalls like they used to during their days in the Demon Banner Army.

They bought several clothes. Normally, nobles would go to a high-end store for their clothes, but Noel and Anna were different. It might be due to the influence of their days in the Demon Banner Army, but they came to all kinds of stores.

Sometimes, they even dressed up like a commoner just so that no one would notice.

It was rare to see nobles like them. People’s impression of nobles were high-ranking people that would always be escorted by butlers or maids and protected by soldiers every time they went around.

However, no one could actually threaten Noel or Anna, let alone both of them together. Still, even though they looked like common people, they still carried themselves higher than the commoners.

After all, they were still nobles. If he completely assimilated to that of common people, while it was true they could gain their heart, they couldn’t gain their respect.

In the end, the people would think they were just like them, not nobles. That was why Noel and Anna still looked like high-ranking people in the people’s eyes. If people were willing to give up their spots for them, they would boldly take it. Still, they weren’t arrogant enough to demand them to give up that position.

This way, Noel could gain their heart and their respect at the same time, diminishing the fear in their hearts.

Nevertheless, their original intention was to have fun. So, both of them did exactly that.

Once the sun was about to set, they finally walked back to the mansion.

On the way, Anna fell silent for a moment before asking, ”Do you want to know the reason we’re able to return so fast?”

Noel’s expression turned solemn. ”I will probably need to know. After all, you should have gone deeper than the Muivell Kingdom’s territory in the past.

”Hence, it’d be more dangerous than anything we’d faced so far. There would be a lot more demons, including ancient demons. It’s just... no matter how dangerous it was, finding an ancient demon was hard, let alone multiple of them.”

”Actually, we didn’t do it alone.” Anna raised her finger. ”I don’t know if this was a good thing or not, but we actually encountered Phantom on our trip.”

”Phantom?” Noel seemed to recognize the name. ”Wait. Phantom... That Phantom?”

Anna nodded.

The ’Phantom’ in their mouths was none other than one of the seven elders of the beast kingdom, the dark cat. Noel didn’t expect Anna would actually find her during the journey.

”Tell me more about it.” Noel squinted his eyes.

”It was a coincidence. She seemed to have noticed the familiar energy from me, so because she could see me traveling together with a person, she mistook Duke Lorelei as you.

”She carelessly came to greet us, which startled Duke Lorelei. After all, she was a spirit transcendence.”

”Fair enough.” Noel frowned. ”Did Duke Lorelei say anything? How much did he know?”

Anna raised two fingers. ”Although Phantom was indeed careless, she swiftly got back on her feet by telling Duke Lorelei that she came from a tribe. By utilizing both our understanding, we managed to convince Duke Lorelei that this was a tribe we found when you and I visited the Ardagan family’s former territory.

”If they didn’t provoke them, they wouldn’t do anything to them. For the time being, Duke Lorelei wasn’t aware of their strength. However, if he brought an army there, it would probably turn into a war.”

”...” Noel closed his eyes for a moment before shaking his head. ”Fortunately, as long as we are alive, it won’t be possible.”

”Yes. We’ll, of course, warn Duke Lorelei and help them.” Anna nodded in agreement. ”Still, I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future.”

”Fair enough.” Noel nodded. ”If we manage to win against the demon king, we can always visit them. In fact, we might be strong enough to clear up the area around here. At that time, it won’t be weird if the beast kingdom actually relocates their kingdom elsewhere.

”It’s just... I’m not keen on this decision, since it feels like we’re the ones driving them away from home.”

Anna could only let out a long sigh, understanding his worries.
