Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 298: Chapter 206: Silver Wing, Get!

”It’s truly amazing that there are actually flying Teddiursa in this world.”

Allen clicked his tongue in wonder, but when he saw Naoki’s strange expression, he curiously asked:

”Don’t you find this astonishing? I’ve only seen such an extraordinary Pokemon at your ranch.” He was referring to the Pawmot that flew around the ranch all day with a red cape.

Naoki: ”It is indeed surprising...”

”Exactly!” Allen exclaimed: ”There are so many secrets about this world that haven’t been discovered by humans yet!”

”I heard that many Pokemon Doctors and researchers started investigating how Teddiursa managed to fly into the sky after hearing about this, even the very famous Professor Oak is among them!”

Upon hearing this, Naoki was slightly taken aback: ”Professor Oak?”

”Oh? You don’t know about him?” Allen was quite surprised, as, in his view, Professor Oak was very well-known, having discovered many secrets about Pokemon.

”I know a bit.” Naoki thought to himself, he just didn’t expect this matter to catch Professor Oak’s attention.

This made him unsure of what to say for a moment.

Allen’s face showed an expression of admiration: ”Professor Oak, a legend in the Pokemon world, earned his doctorate from Celadon University at the age of 25, becoming a leading researcher in the Pokemon academic field at a young age.”

”It’s said that to conduct thorough research, Professor Oak often risks being attacked by Pokemon to observe them. He believes that only this way can he obtain real and reliable data, providing a wealth of wild Pokemon information for Trainers traveling outside!”

”If it’s Professor Oak, he will definitely uncover the truth behind Teddiursa flying in the sky!”

Naoki: ”...”

”Do you have a lot of faith in Professor Oak?” he asked.

”Of course!” Allen nodded: ”Because Professor Oak isn’t just a theoretical doctorate, before becoming a doctor, he was a highly skilled Pokemon Trainer!”

Naoki raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised, and said, ”You really want to become a Trainer.”

Allen nodded earnestly, full of longing, and said, ”That has been my dream since I was a child! To receive my own first Pokemon and travel the world with it, what a wonderful life!”

”Then why are you staying in the town as a postal worker?” Naoki couldn’t help but ask.

On hearing this, Allen sighed and said helplessly: ”Because I have to take care of my grandmother!”

He organized his words and explained: ”After my mother passed away, my father started drinking heavily, and one day when he went out drunk, he never returned. Since then, it’s just been my grandmother and me living together at home.”

Naoki: ”...I’m sorry.”

Yet Allen grinned, showing a cheerful smile: ”It’s okay, it’s all in the past. Although I can’t travel, I’m already very happy to live with the Pokemon. Alright, it’s getting late, I still have to deliver mail to the neighboring ranch, see you later!”

Naoki nodded, seeing Allen out the door, watching his figure disappear down the path, he couldn’t help but sigh.

Sigh, another unfortunate person!

Naoki withdrew his gaze and looked up at the sky.

Mew and Teddiursa hadn’t sent him letters for several days. From Allen’s words, it seemed like they had gone to the Orange Archipelago.

The Orange Archipelago is located over the sea, not a complete landmass, with a significant distance between each island.

Naoki guessed that Mew and Teddiursa might have been wandering between the islands, unable to find a landing point, delaying the time to send a letter.

But speak of the devil.

Just as Naoki was about to go back inside to continue making Poffins, he suddenly heard a metallic scratching sound from the sky.

Naoki looked up and saw a Pokemon covered in a layer of silver armor, with feathers as sharp as blades, land in the ranch.

”Skarmory.”

The name of this Pokemon flashed in Naoki’s mind.

Clutched in Skarmory’s silver talons was a letter.

It took a look at Naoki with its sharp gaze and then opened its mouth full of sharp teeth, emitting a screech.

With a ”snap,” the letter fell onto the grass.

Naoki was already used to this kind of thing; he walked up and picked up the letter, smiling as he said ”thanks for your hard work” to Skarmory.

Skarmory seemed quite pleased, responding with another screech.

Naoki waved, and his brother Indeedee walked up from not far away.

Naoki said to him, ”Help me bring some Poffins.”

His brother Indeedee looked at the visiting Skarmory and the letter in Naoki’s hand, seemingly struck with sudden inspiration, and then turned around, going back inside to get a large box of Poffins from his sister.

”This is for your legwork.” Naoki handed the Poffin Box to Skarmory: ”There are two portions inside, one for you, and could you also send the other one to Teddiursa and Mew, if you can catch up with them.”

Skarmory gladly agreed, grasping the Poffin Box with its talons, and flapped its wings contentedly, flying away.

Naoki took the letter back to the living room.

The envelope was quite heavy, which immediately made Naoki think of the three Treasure Pearls that Teddiursa and Mew had picked up from the Three Legendary Birds’ guardians.
