Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 269: Chapter 193: Twice as Reluctant to Leave

At least, they could still play here until the afternoon.

Naoki wanted to ride Cyclizar to the town, but when he looked around, he saw Cyclizar playing with the Indeedees.

Naoki didn’t want to disturb them, so he found Koraidon, called Pawmot, and headed to Porto Marinada Town together.

They had agreed to go and get a custom cloak made for Pawmot.

Todays lunch was prepared by Naoki and his sister, Indeedees, together.

Looking at the sumptuous food in front of him, the wild Dragonite showed an expression like a country dragon.

Dragonite: ”...” Can’t bear to watch!

It turned its head, silently eating a sandwich, deciding to endure it, after all, this Dragonite would leave in the afternoon.

However, the imagination was beautiful, but the reality was rather stark.

Until the sun set and nightfall descended, the wild Dragonite didn’t mention returning to Dragon Island with Dratini and Dragonair.

Not only that, it enthusiastically joined in the fun with the Pokemon on the ranch.

Since Naoki had previously taken the Cyclizar and Pawmo to Dragon Island, the wild Dragonite was not unfamiliar with these Pokemon.

Naoki, Dragonite, and Dratini, Dragonair stood not far away watching this scene, with different expressions on their faces.

Naoki felt very proud, thinking to himself that as expected of him! No Pokemon could resist the lure of delicious food! Look at this wild Dragonite, it’s practically lost in joy!

Dragonite was full of questions, wasn’t it supposed to leave in the afternoon? Now it was dark!

Dratini and Dragonair both sighed in relief in unison, they stepped back wanting to hide so they wouldn’t be affected.

At this moment, Naoki’s sister Indeedees had prepared the dinner.

She nodded at Naoki, and Naoki called out to all the Pokemon to come back for dinner: ”Dinner time!”

The wild Dragonite came running immediately.

By the table, upon seeing the low-spirited Dragonite, it couldn’t help but be a little puzzled: ”Roar?” (What’s wrong?)

Dragonite reminded: ”Roar?” (Did you forget something?)

The wild Dragonite blinked, did it?

It really seemed to have forgotten something important, but couldn’t recall... oh well, nevermind!

The wild Dragonite happily indulged in the ocean of delicacies.

Dragonite: ”!!!”

It wanted to say more but was held back by Naoki.

Naoki whispered: ”Just let it stay here and play for a few more days! Anyway, there’s nothing happening back there.”

Dragonite feeling aggrieved: ”Roar...”

Naoki conspiratorially: ”Do you remember I once talked to you about forming a Dragonite army, to let you lead a large group of Dragonites?”

Dragonite paused a bit, recalled, and then nodded.

Seems like there really was such a thing...

Naoki: ”So, now by making good relations with them through food, we can hire them to come help us in the future, and then I will appoint you as the head of Dragonite Delivery Company, and we will be one family.”

We will be one family...

This sentence truly hit Dragonite right in the feels.

It opened its big eyes and fondly reminisced.

The Pokemons treated as family by Naoki all seemed to have their own Poke Ball.

It had one too, but neither Dratini, Dragonair, nor this wild Dragonite had one.

Thinking of this, Dragonite immediately felt joyful.

They really are a family!

So, it didn’t urge for this Dragonite to go back to Dragon Island anymore.

After all, in Naoki’s heart, it is the only Dragonite!

In the deep night, the Pokemons on the ranch gradually went to sleep.

The wild Dragonite also contently patted its full belly, lying on the soft grass, and entered a dreamland.

Here, everything was peaceful, but on Dragonite Island, they were bewildered.

The moon reflected on the lake’s surface.

The Dragonites by the lake were all perplexed.

Where is the Dragonite we sent to bring Dratini and Dragonair back?

Why hadn’t it returned this late? Did something bad happen?

Like getting captured by a human trainer, perhaps...

The Dragonites looked at each other, glanced up at the moon and the sea, thought about what was to come, and the next morning sent another adult Dragonite over.

As a result, they waited and waited, until the sun set and the moon rose, but this Dragonite still didn’t come back.

Immediately, a commotion erupted among the Dragonites.

They gathered and murmured for a long time, eventually choosing a Dragonite with a fiery temperament, respected by strength, and disdainful of humans but absolutely wouldn’t be captured by humans, to retrieve Dratini and Dragonair.

*

The following day, as daylight shone brightly.

The Dragonite that returned from delivering milk widened its eyes, staring at the two wild Dragonites, one holding Berry Milk in the left hand and the other holding a Honey Bun in the right, clearly indulging in their carefree enjoyment.

Darn! The food at home was nearly devoured by them!

Not just it, Naoki also realized this.

These two Dragonites were like reincarnated hungry ghosts, their mouths hadn’t stopped these past two days, besides the three regular meals, they also consumed a large amount of snacks.

The stock in the fridge was all gone!

”No way, we can’t let them stay here any longer!”

Just as Naoki prepared to think of a way to send them back to Dragonite Island, another Dragonite landed in the pasture.

Watching this scene, Naoki’s eyebrow twitched, and a thought simultaneously emerged in both his and Dragonite’s mind: Seriously? Another one?

However, this Dragonite seemed different from the previous two.

It appeared fierce and was very reminiscent of Iris’s Dragonite in the anime.
