Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 267: Chapter 192: Pawmo’s Cape

The morning sunlight covered the entire ranch, and a few blue-feathered Squawkabilly leisurely perched on the rooftop.

Suddenly, several yellow-feathered Squawkabilly flew over from a short distance away.

The group of blue-feathered Squawkabilly immediately acted as if facing a great enemy, flapping their wings and cawing as they went to confront the yellow-feathered ones, beginning a territorial dispute.

Amidst the cries of distress, the yellow-feathered Squawkabilly were defeated and flew away in a very dejected manner.

Meanwhile, the victorious blue-feathered ones landed proudly back on the rooftop.

Hmph, this turf was theirs!

Naoki was woken up by the chirping of the Squawkabilly.

He resignedly sat up in bed and weakly held his head.

Ugh! Those Squawkabilly are so annoying!

Not only do they make noise every morning and evening, but they also steal his crops and fly around in swarms, scaring the timid Combee so they don’t dare leave their nest.

Previously, out of consideration that ”Pokemon are intelligent creatures,” he hadn’t driven them away.

Now, it seemed that he had no choice but to chase them off!

So, early in the morning, Naoki grabbed a stick and rode Dragonite to the rooftop.

The Translation Nuts he ate yesterday weren’t expired, and he happened to hear the blue-feathered Squawkabilly saying nonsense like, ”This turf is ours!”

Naoki sneered and said to them, ”This turf is mine! Dragonite, chase them all away!”

”Roar!”

Dragonite opened its mouth wide and let out a roar.

The startled Squawkabilly realized that they were no match for this Dragonite and flew away chirping, leaving a mess of blue feathers behind.

”Whew—”

Seeing the Squawkabilly fly far away, Naoki finally breathed a long sigh of relief.

He tossed the stick aside and went back downstairs.

The two Indeedee had already woken up, with the brother Indeedee going to Naoki’s room to tidy up the bed while the sister Indeedee began cooking breakfast.

”So thoughtful!”

Naoki rarely indulged in laziness, and while waiting for breakfast to be ready, he picked up Pawmo and called the Cyclizar, who wanted to grow stronger, preparing to have a healthy morning run around the ranch.

Dragonite, on the other hand, shouldered a small satchel to deliver fresh goat milk to Mrs. Dantes and Elo.

Koraidon yawned, lazily lying on the grassy terrain, watching them run past him over and over again.

While running, a strong white glow suddenly emanated from the small Pawmo.

”Pawmo?!”

Startled, Pawmo quickly stopped, carefully feeling the changes in its body.

Seeing this, Naoki wasn’t surprised; instead, he felt a sense of ”finally.”

Pawmot, be born!

Naoki’s heart surged with excitement.

The white glow engulfed Pawmo’s body, rapidly changing its appearance within the light.

It grew taller and bigger, its fur becoming even fluffier, its size increasing from half a meter to nearly a meter.

When the light receded, the large Pawmot let out an excited cry, then leaped into Naoki’s arms.

Naoki caught it steadily, unable to resist rubbing his cheek against its face.

”Aw, it got even cuter!”

”Pawmo～”

Pawmot let out a charming cry.

Beside them, Cyclizar stared blankly at this scene, feeling genuinely happy for Pawmot in its heart.

Not far away, Koraidon tilted its head.

It never noticed before, but now it suddenly realized that Naoki seemed to be letting go more and more.

Watching Naoki bury his face in Pawmot’s belly, Koraidon felt a sense of envy.

It looked down at its own belly, thinking it also wanted...

With the morning run over, Dragonite returned to the ranch from Porto Marinada Town.

The sister Indeedee gently placed the breakfast on the table.

Naoki sat around the table with a group of Pokemon, feeling very joyful: ”Let’s start!”

”Screech!”

”Roar!”

”Pawmo～”

”...”

After breakfast, Naoki planned to take the sister Indeedee to milk and feed the Gogoat and Miltank.

However, before he could leave, the evolved Pawmot came over holding the red cloak, which had clearly become too small.

Its expression was full of grievance and sadness, eyes welled with tears as it looked at Naoki: ”Pawmo...”

Naoki glanced down.

The evolved Pawmot had grown larger, and the original cloak was now too small for it to wear.

Seeing this, Naoki thought for a moment and said, ”Don’t worry, I’ll get you a new one from town later.”

But Pawmot still wasn’t too happy.

Because that red cloak held significant meaning for it.

It looked down at the cloak in its hand, memories of Naoki scrubbing the cloak clean when it got dirty flooding its mind.

Pawmot was on the verge of tears, regretting its evolution.

Seeing this, Naoki couldn’t help but find it amusing yet endearing.

He patted Pawmot’s head: ”Isn’t it the same? Later, I’ll take you to town and get a custom one, and you can keep this one as a keepsake.”

Only then did Pawmot feel slightly better.

Hearing that Naoki would take it to town later, it obediently sat on the corridor under the eaves waiting, listening to the wind chime above while watching Naoki and the two Indeedee milk and feed the Gogoat.

”...The grassy seed in this basket is Gogoat’s main food. Just pour them into the feeding trough every day, and Gogoat will eat them on its own.”

Naoki demonstrated to the two Indeedee.

Watching his actions, the siblings nodded, indicating they understood.

Naoki smiled and moved to the three Gogoat that had lost all their PP value while cultivating the World Tree:

”Come, say hello to our new partners, Indeedee. The one on the left is the brother, and the one on the right is the sister.”

Hearing this, the three Gogoat turned to look at the two Indeedee.

They obediently let out a weak ”baa” to the siblings.

Naoki patted their heads, watching as the grassy seeds were prepared, and the three Gogoat got up to squeeze in front of the trough to gobble up the grassy seeds and replenish the grass energy in their bodies.

Once replenished, the Gogoat leisurely wandered to the field’s edge, helping care for the crops and the orchard’s berry trees using grassy terrain.

Seeing this, Naoki planned to introduce the underground-dwelling Diglett and Naclstack to the two Indeedee.

But before he could enter the cavern, a Dragonite suddenly flew across the sky.

Naoki was a bit surprised.

Could Teddiursa and Mew have sent him another postcard?

Naoki thought it was quite extravagant this time, even sending a Quasi-God to deliver the postcard.

So he stopped and watched as the Dragonite landed in the ranch.

Yet the next second, Naoki sensed something was off.

Because he realized that this Dragonite looked very familiar!

It was one of the Dragonites that wanted to come home with him when he first visited Dragon Island, but was stopped by Dragonite!

The actions of Dragonite confirmed this.

Witnessing the wild Dragonite land in the ranch, the lazing Dragonite instantly bounced up.

”Roar?!”

The wild Dragonite cheerfully replied, ”Roar... Roar～”

The Translation Nuts were exhausted, and Naoki couldn’t understand their conversation.

Upon hearing the wild Dragonite, Dragonite cast its gaze towards the lake where Dratini and Dragonair lived.

A thought crossed its mind, and Naoki stepped forward to ask, ”Is it here to take Dratini and Dragonair back to the island?”

”Roar!”

Dragonite nodded, eyes gleaming, instantly changing its attitude toward the wild Dragonite.

It appeared very pleased, even affectionately leading the wild Dragonite towards the lake with its chubby paws.

The expression seemed eager to pack up the Dragonair and Dratini and send them off immediately.

Naoki: ”...”

Buddy, everyone’s aware of your intentions!
