Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 285: Chapter 200: Curiosity

After Naoki finished drinking all the brown sugar ginger tea in front of him, he poured out another dozen cups.

He handed these cups to his sister, Indeedee, and asked, ”Can you help me deliver these to the Miltanks?”

”Aye!”

Sister Indeedee gladly agreed.

Not only her, but other Pokemon also helped, carrying the cups outside.

Watching their backs, Naoki smiled and then started dealing with the half-basket of wild mountain mushrooms.

He separated different types of wild mushrooms, marking which ones were suitable for stir-frying and which for making soup.

There was still some time before noon, so he wasn’t in a hurry to cook lunch. Instead, he turned his attention to the pile of special poisonous mushrooms.

Naoki picked and sorted through them, and after careful inspection, he found that every mushroom here would put a Pokemon into a toxic state if consumed.

That’s right, a toxic state in the literal sense.

This also meant that even if poisoned, it could be treated with antidote berries and antidotes.

”It shouldn’t... kill anyone, right?”

Red cap, white stalk, eat them and lie down flat together.

Naoki rubbed his chin, hesitating inside, but ultimately couldn’t resist his curiosity.

”Oh well, I’ll just give it a try; if it’s toxic, I can always throw it away.”

He went for it!

Naoki gritted his teeth, began washing the mushrooms with determination, and then started the fire, pouring all the poisonous mushrooms into the pot to make soup.

As time passed, the once calm pot began to boil gradually.

The red mushrooms tumbled up and down in the pot, and Naoki stirred them continuously with a chopstick.

Watching this scene, he suddenly felt like an evil witch from the Middle Ages concocting a potion.

Naoki: ”...”

But speaking of which, the art of cooking does have its harmful methods.

Using the principle of mutual reinforcement and restraint between different ingredients to gradually deplete the consumer’s health.

After about half an hour, the toxic mushroom soup was finally ready.

Naoki poured it into a basin and then lowered his head to examine it.

[Poisonous Mushroom Thick Soup (B-): A mushroom soup brewed with toxic wild mushrooms, although it smells fragrant, don’t be fooled by its appearance, beware! Consumer!

Cooking Effect: ???, after consumption by humans and Pokemon, they will see another different world, and some unexpected things may happen.

But at the same time, they will fall into a toxic state and must be detoxified within an hour using a Pecha Berry or antidote!

Rating: Extremely dangerous dish, please consume with caution!]

Naoki: ”...”

Sometimes humans are like this, the more you forbid them from doing something, the more they want to do it.

Moreover, this cooking effect seems to deliberately entice people to eat it, doesn’t it?!

Seeing a different world, is it the Spirit Realm inhabited by many Ghost-type Pokemon?

And the part about unexpected things happening.

Although the method is quite clumsy, he couldn’t deny that he was tempted.

The Pokemon World’s another world is clearly not that simple.

However, he still had to be careful, after all, this thing really could be harmful.

After much deliberation, Naoki retrieved several Pecha Berries from the berry storage.

He lowered his head and examined the information about these pink Pecha Berries in his mind.

[Pecha Berry: A magical berry that can detoxify.]

Then, Naoki called over the Indeedee siblings and shared his plan with them.

After listening, Brother Indeedee showed a disapproving look.

Sister Indeedee looked very worried.

”Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing. I’ll just look for one minute, and after one minute, pour the Pecha Berry Juice into my mouth,” Naoki said.

The cooking description said there wouldn’t be a problem as long as detoxification occurred within an hour.

To prevent the two Indeedees from worrying, he assured them it would only take one minute and that there would be no problem.

Seeing his determined attitude, the two Indeedees exchanged a glance and reluctantly agreed.

So Naoki sat on the sofa, scooped a bowl of soup with a spoon, and drank it down.

The next second, he felt everything in front of him begin to change.

The room’s decor became colorful, with patches of color constantly peeling off, and Naoki felt dizzy as if the world was spinning, like he was falling.

Gradually, as all the surrounding colors faded away, he found himself in a space filled with a sense of deathly silence and void.

This was a very special world.

Floating in the void were various-sized floating islands, with upside-down trees, waterfalls hanging downwards, and even upside-down water surfaces.

Everything here seemed unaffected by gravity.

Naoki was stunned.

Suddenly, four large words appeared in his mind.

Reversed World!

He finally realized what the cooking effect meant by seeing another different world!

This wasn’t the Spirit Realm or hallucinations caused by the poisonous mushrooms but an opposing yet balanced counterpart to the real world, the Reversed World!

This was the domain of the mythical Pokemon, the Netherworld Dragon Giratina!

”So this is what the real Reversed World looks like,” Naoki thought, feeling it was worth the trip.

He quickly scanned his surroundings, hoping to catch a glimpse of Giratina, the legendary dragon banished here for its fierce temperament.

Unfortunately, there was no trace of Giratina nearby.

Naoki wanted to take a walk and have a look around.

But the next moment, he felt someone feeding something sweet and fruity into his mouth.

Everything around him quickly retreated like a tide, and Naoki’s vision returned to reality, where he saw the worried faces of the Indeedee siblings beside him.

”I’m fine!” Naoki first reassured them.

Then, he felt a little uncomfortable, like he was weakened after a long day of farm work.

Naoki realized that this was likely a sign of poisoning.

He took the glass of Pecha Berry Juice from Sister Indeedee and drank it, after which the weakness gradually subsided.

Sister Indeedee still looked worried, and seeing Naoki’s excited expression, she began to worry that the poisonous mushroom had affected his brain.

The two Indeedees exchanged a glance, their eyes full of undisguisable worry.

Naoki noticed: ”...What kind of expression is that?”

”Aye...” Sister Indeedee said.

Naoki casually grabbed a melon seed cake to eat, finally understanding what Sister Indeedee meant.

She was suggesting they go to a human hospital for a check-up to ensure there were no adverse effects.

The two Indeedees looked at him so worriedly, leaving Naoki unsure whether to continue indulging in the poisonous mushroom soup.

Seeing his reluctance to part from the poisonous mushroom soup, Brother Indeedee began to ponder whether to inform Koraidon and the others about this.

When that time comes, neither Koraidon, Dragonite, nor Pawmot would probably waste any time rushing over to hold Naoki’s legs to stop his self-harming actions.

Naoki: ”...”

Naoki relented: ”Okay, I promise you, I won’t drink it anymore.”

But he really wanted to see Giratina move!

Meanwhile, in the Reversed World.

A massive figure swiftly darted through the void.

It was a large, dragon-like creature with a golden half-ring encircling its neck from its back, with black and red stripes horizontally across the front of its neck, and blood-red eyes quietly surveying the void in front of it.

It sensed that a stranger’s aura had just intruded into its domain.
