Chapter 281: Chapter 198: I Like Koraidon—and Everyone Else (4k)

Year 198 of League Calendar, July 25th, Autumn.

As time went by, the temperature in the air gradually dropped.

People took off their thin short sleeves and put on warm long-sleeve jackets.

Naoki was no exception. As a farmer, because he often needed to work in the fields, most of the clothes he bought were sturdy overalls and jeans.

”Achoo!”

Early in the morning, Naoki was about to go out to milk the cows when he suddenly felt a cold wind blow through and couldn’t help but sneeze.

The sudden drop in temperature was something he wasn’t quite used to yet.

The Pokémon in the ranch were doing much better.

Koraidon and Dragonite were both thick-skinned, Pawmot was covered in a layer of thick fur, and as for Glaceon, it wasn’t afraid of the cold at all.

Only Cyclizar seemed a bit unaccustomed.

It stood next to Naoki, and the moment after Naoki sneezed, it also sneezed, looking quite listless.

”Caught a cold?”

Naoki touched its forehead, saw it wasn’t running a fever, and gave Cyclizar a day off, telling it to stay indoors and avoid the wind.

Cyclizar could only sit listlessly on the sofa.

Sister Indeedee thoughtfully brought it a cup of hot tea to warm it up.

Naoki sniffed, then walked out of the house, greeted Dragonite and Dragonair who came to work, and then moved the bucket and milker with Koraidon to the Gogoat pen.

Without needing a wave, the three Gogoat sidled over and then knelt down to make it easier for Naoki to milk.

During the process, Naoki took the opportunity to check on the mutated World Tree.

Compared to half a month ago, this sapling hadn’t changed a bit. If he couldn’t see the days to its maturity decreasing, he might have thought it had stopped growing.

Even with the Gogoat constantly helping to take care of it, the date on which this World Tree would mature remained unwaveringly fixed above 99,900 years.

”Phew! Done!”

The milk bucket was filled, and Naoki gently patted the three Gogoat on the side. They retreated and lazily lay on the grass.

Naoki placed the milk bucket properly, then moved the MooMoo Milk milked by Miltank to here, placing it together with the goat milk.

By the time everything was finished, it was already 9:30 in the morning.

Remembering the uncomfortable Cyclizar, Naoki returned to the living room and asked, ”Feeling any better now?”

If not, he would take Cyclizar to the Pokémon Center for a check-up.

”Grawrr...” Cyclizar still looked very weak.

Naoki touched its forehead and found that its temperature was scalding hot, reaching quite an alarming level.

Naoki’s brow immediately furrowed.

He turned and went to the bedroom to fetch Cyclizar’s Poke Ball, putting it inside.

The Pokémon in the ranch were alerted and seemed very worried.

Even Glaceon’s usually cool and calm face was filled with concern.

”Looks like Cyclizar has a good relationship with everyone!” Naoki raised an eyebrow.

Before, when he was working, the Pokémon would play on their own, and he only joined them for games like flying disc and ball when he had time.

In their usual interactions, he wouldn’t interfere.

After thinking about it, Naoki said to the concerned Pokémon:

”Don’t worry, it’s just a fever. I’ll take it to the Pokémon Center, and it will be back soon.”

When he said this, a flash of emotion crossed Koraidon’s face.

It had never realized before how worried the Pokémon on the ranch were about it.

But it was understandable.

After all, when it was still Cyclizar, and when this happened, it had already been put in the Poke Ball and was groggily unaware of what was going on outside.

And afterwards, these guys wouldn’t show it, but would instead teasingly play with it.

This time, from a different perspective, Koraidon saw something it had never noticed before.

”Let’s go!”

Naoki’s voice called Koraidon back from its emotional moment.

It immediately transformed into a sprinting mode, carrying Naoki and its former self towards Porto Marinada Town.

Koraidon’s speed was fast, and in just a few minutes they arrived at the Pokémon Center in Porto Marinada Town.

There weren’t many people here, and upon hearing Naoki mention the Pokémon’s fever, Miss Joy immediately put on a serious face and with assistant Audino pushed Cyclizar into a room.

This scene was very much like pushing a critically ill patient into an operating room.

Naoki inexplicably felt a bit nervous.

Beside him, Koraidon looked at him and then asked, ”Gaa-sis?”

Naoki was slightly taken aback and turned to ask, ”What’s up, Koraidon?”

Koraidon looked at the treatment room where treatment was happening: ”Gaa-sis...”

Naoki roughly understood: ”Are you also worried about Cyclizar?”

Koraidon: ”...”

Thinking of Koraidon’s usual habit of being jealous of Cyclizar’s attention, Naoki couldn’t help but chuckle and said:

”Who would have thought you two have quite a good relationship!”

Koraidon didn’t actually mean that; it wanted to ask if Naoki was very worried about Cyclizar.

Suddenly, it really wanted to know what it meant to Naoki back when it was still a Cyclizar.

In the time after, many Pokémon came to the ranch. At first, as a Cyclizar, it was a bit foolish and naive.

Later, as it slowly grew up, it gradually came to understand many things.

Naoki had limited energy, and there were so many Pokémon on the ranch.
