Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 257: Chapter 186: Mewtwo Strikes Back Again (Three-in-One)

Upon hearing that humans would see them, Mewtwo immediately floated back, face darkening: ”We don’t want humans disturbing our lives.”

Teddiursa furrowed its brow and exchanged a look with Mew, both feeling quite puzzled: ”Umm...” (But, Naoki is a really good human...)

Mewtwo: ”Naoki?”

Teddiursa nodded: ”Umm... umm.” (Yes, he’s the one who helped me. Without Naoki, I would still be living a clueless life in the mountains, stealing honey every day. Maybe one day I’d get caught by other humans... In short, Naoki is the best human in this world!)

As Teddiursa spoke, its eyes were incredibly bright, as if stars sparkled within them.

Mew agreed wholeheartedly: ”miu!” (Naoki’s cooking is the most delicious food in the world!)

Mewtwo: ”...”

At this moment, Teddiursa suddenly remembered something: ”Umm! Umm umm!” (Right, Naoki has opened a tavern specifically for Pokémon! Pokémon in need will all go there to seek Naoki’s help!)

Mew generously shared its memories with Mewtwo.

After viewing this memory, Mewtwo fell into deeper silence.

Because that human... seemed a bit odd.

It couldn’t even imagine burying its face in a Pokémon’s belly.

Having inherited human genes, Mewtwo felt a bit of shame.

But it had to admit, that human was very kind to Pokémon.

It also understood Teddiursa and Mew’s intentions.

However... they weren’t ready yet, at least not now.

Teddiursa’s tone turned downcast: ”Umm...” (Alright...)

Both it and Mew looked rather dejectedly at the camera.

Mewtwo: ”...”

After a moment’s silence, it stepped forward: ”Only one photo.”

”Umm!”

”miu!”

Mew and Teddiursa’s eyes sparkled instantly.

They took hold of Mewtwo, and alongside the cloned Pokémon group, snapped two photos.

One was kept for Mewtwo and the cloned Pokémon, the other intended to be sent back home to share their travels with Naoki.

Looking at the photo in his hand, Naoki nearly spit out the juice he had just sipped.

Did he see it wrong?

Was this Mewtwo?

When did Teddiursa and Mew run into Mewtwo?!

Could it be that Lucky Pudding played a role again?

”Scary.”

Having encountered Mewtwo now, Naoki couldn’t even imagine what else they could meet in the future.

Once the excitement of seeing Mewtwo subsided, Naoki gradually calmed down.

Stay calm, stay calm, Koraidon is already farming with him, seeing a photo of Mewtwo is no big deal.

With that thought, Naoki stood up, framed the photo, and hung it on the wall of the small tavern.

He glanced at the time, realizing it was already 4:50 PM.

Just then, the sound of a truck came from outside the ranch.

Naoki went out to sell today’s milk and goat’s milk to Zack, and then began to prepare dinner for the day.

After he and the Pokémon had finished dinner, the time was just 7 PM.

Naoki leisurely opened the small tavern’s door and began the evening’s business.

At 7:05 PM, two Machamp arrived on time.

They ordered two glasses of juice as usual, chattering about the day’s events.

Naoki sat behind the bar, listening to their chatter.

Soon after, a Quaquaval swaggered in from outside.

This was the Pokémon captain of Porto Marinada Town’s fire brigade.

Two days ago, it had somehow heard of a small tavern dedicated to Pokémon here, so every day after work, it would waddle its way over, sipping a glass of juice elegantly.

”Was today’s work smooth?” Naoki asked with a smile, pouring it a glass of juice.

Quaquaval took the highball glass gracefully: ”Quaa.” (Very smooth.)

It walked to an empty table, sat down, and listened to some Dratini and Dragonair chatting while sipping its juice.

Quaquaval sat in the tavern until 9 PM before leisurely getting up to pay for today’s drinks—with five deep blue feathers.

Naoki: ”...”

It must be said, this Pokémon was quite narcissistic.
