Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 295: Chapter 205: Golden Berry, Teddiursa, Ice and Thunder Gods, Lugia (4kk)

Alliance Year 198, early August, autumn.

That morning, a major event occurred on the ranch.

The berry garden they had planted earlier had finally matured.

Naoki stood in the berry garden, looking at the large and heavy fruits on the branches, feeling very happy inside.

”A bountiful harvest!”

The feeling of watching something you planted with your own hands grow is incomparable!

Since there was nothing else to do, he casually wandered around the berry garden with his sister Indeedee.

His younger sister Indeedee, who followed behind, felt equally joyful.

But thinking about Naoki’s previous schedule, she couldn’t help but ask, ”Indeedee?” (Aren’t we visiting Mr. Giratina today?)

”Let’s skip today.” Naoki shook his head, planning to stay at the ranch to stroll around the garden and to properly arrange things in the glass greenhouse as well.

The glass greenhouse had been completed for some time, and because he had been busy with Giratina and the Water of the Reversed World affairs recently, he hadn’t had much time to visit.

To be honest, since he left the Reversed World of Giratina last time, he hadn’t been there much, at most once a week.

Because Giratina wasn’t easy to get along with, and the Reversing the Universe series of dishes currently didn’t have much effect on the Pokemon at the ranch.

The three barrels of water were still unused, all stored by Naoki in Glaceon’s ice cellar.

”Indeedee.”

His sister Indeedee nodded and didn’t ask further.

Just then, Naoki suddenly saw something extraordinary on one of the fruit trees.

Amidst the rustling green leaves, hung a plump and glossy golden berry!

That is...

Naoki instinctively focused his gaze on that berry.

In an instant, information about the berry surfaced in his mind.

[Golden Razz Berry: A rare ingredient, a variant of the Razz Berry. Its aroma and nutrition surpass those of ordinary Razz Berries and are much loved by Pokemon. When given to wild Pokemon, they become much easier to capture. The Pokeblocks made with this berry also greatly enhance in taste and quality.]

Wow!

Clearly, such a rare variant berry can’t grow on an ordinary berry tree; it was clearly nurtured by Gogoat using Grass Energy!

Naoki decisively picked it.

Since this berry was already ripe, he might as well have the Pokemon at the ranch try it out to see what makes it different from an ordinary Razz Berry!

Seeing this, his sister Indeedee smiled and turned to leave.

In no time, she returned to the garden using telekinesis to control a wicker basket.

Because they had hired two wild Dragonite, Naoki had to provide them with Poffins daily, so the house’s berry stock was running low.

Previously, their solution was to buy from the town, but now it was different; the ranch had a bumper crop of berries, and they just needed to come here to pick them in the future.

Naoki placed the Golden Razz Berry in the basket and continued to wander through the berry garden.

While picking fully matured berries, he also scanned the branches with his eyes to see if there were any other mutated berries.

Sure enough, it didn’t take long before he found the second, third, and fourth mutated berries.

[Golden Pinap Berry], [Silver Nanab Berry], [Silver Razz Berry]

Once the basket was filled, it contained a few more golden berries.

Carrying the basket back to the lawn outside, Naoki dumped the berries on the ground, piling them into a small mountain before rummaging through to pull out the golden and silver berries.

”One, two, three... six, seven, huh? So many?”

Three golden berries, four slightly less rare silver berries.

Naoki was greatly surprised by this sight.

The mutation rate of these berries far exceeded that of the crops he planted!

After the surprise came a sense of regret.

This level of berry is best used for making Pokeblocks.

As a top-tier dessert in the Pokemon World, a Pokeblock can be considered a perfect all-round food.

It can provide ample nutrition and energy to Pokemon, making their fur oily and slippery, enhancing their maturity and allure, and filling their bellies.

Overall, Pokeblocks are more popular and beloved among Pokemon than Poffins.

But unfortunately, he has not yet mastered the method of making Pokeblocks from berries.

Allen mentioned last time that he would help him find a Breeder skilled in making Pokeblocks, but it seems he hasn’t found one yet.

After storing these berries in the house’s berry cabinet, Naoki took out a dozen flower pots from the storage room and, together with his brother Indeedee, carried them to the flower field.

Time flew by, and it was already August. In the blink of an eye, the entire autumn would pass, followed swiftly by the cold winter.

Even though the season had yet to arrive, a sudden cold wave had affected the entire world a few days prior.

The weather-related TV programs mentioned that the sea surface of the distant Orange Archipelago was frozen, causing wild Pokemon everywhere to riot, leaving their habitats and crossing the frozen sea to head there.
