I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 1414 19.73 Second Red Star - Scout Teams returned injured.

The arrival of the Zerg Race and the allied other races didnʼt cause too much commotion. Except for a few no one even knew about their arrival. It was now evening and they were camping as it snows. They erected a big energy dome which separates them from the outside temperature keeping a normal temperature inside. There are now tents and bonfires erected within the energy barrier.

Those whose task is to prepare food were now all working for it. Some help the others make some tents and a temporary kitchen for their chefs.

Cid Warlock at the bonfire with a huge pot of mushroom soup was boiling over. The other leaders of the alliance were also around this bonfire. We were having a meeting as we ate.

One of the alliance leaders asked, ”Your Majesty, what do you think is happening on this planet?”

”Something we donʼt know about and maybe something beyond our control. There is actually you need to hear about the scouts Iʼve sent in the worlds the Beast Race had invaded before,” said Zerg King Cid Warlock.

”Is there something wrong about those worlds?” asked by one of the Alliance leaders.

Solan, who led the scouting team for those worlds said, ”Like in the reports, all warriors are killed. Only those who are weak, sick, young and old remain. The strangest thing about those worlds is that they are full of resources on their planet, but they donʼt dare to eat it. They said that something is wrong with those plants and animals. They said that their planet is cursed.”

”Cursed? What does that mean?” another alliance leader said.

Solan responded, ”We choose to believe them and left a few of our resources to them in exchange of the information. We took some samples about their so-called cursed food resources and sent them to the Hive for research. We should be able to receive the result in a few days.”

”Why would their own food be considered cursed after the arrival of the Beast race on their planets? Did those beasts have terminal illness thatʼs why theyʼve gone crazy?”

”Maybe… but would an ill patient seek war?”

”They are beastmen. No different from barbarians.”

”You have a point but that canʼt be said without proof.”

It was at this time that the scouting team had returned. Some of them are wounded as if they were attacked by something. They were also dragging a few arctic foxes that wanted to attack them as a group. The rest at the camp were surprised by the situation of the scouting team.

Zerg King Cid Warlock commanded, ”Call the doctors! We have injured ones here!”

The one in lead of this team was his confidant Lucas. He himself had even returned to his original form, a huge black widow spider carrying some injured soldiers with him.

His king asked, ”Lucas, tell us what happened?”

”Okay. Please help me take care of the injured ones first on my back,” Lucas said.

Kian said, ”Leave it to me.”

After the patient on the huge black widowʼs back was taken by Kian, the doctor of their team, Lucas returned to his human form. These patients were sent to the Medical Tent and will be tended by the doctors they brought in this expedition. Kian remained and treated Lucas who was also covered in animal bites and scratches.

”My King, the animals on this planet had got mad. They donʼt feel fear and would attack anyone who entered their territory. This is regardless of whether they are prey or not. We got ambushed by a group of arctic foxes. Thereʼs a lot of them hiding and even using the snow to camouflage.

At first we thought it was because we entered their territory, so we choose to retreat, but they keep on chasing us as if they wouldnʼt stop until they kill.” Lucas storied.

”These foxes wouldnʼt be enough to injure your group. What else have you bumped into?” Roan asked.

Lucas frowned and answered, ”Polar Bears, Snow Leopards and all animals who can move in snowy areas. They all gathered in one place. They were fighting each other at first, but as soon as they saw our group they all targeted us. There is no escape as they are persistent and we can only kill them all.”

”You mean as if they can differentiate you as targets? They would rather attack you than choose another easy prey?” said Solan.

Lucas said, ”Thatʼs right. Itʼs weird. As if they hunt not to eat, but hunt to kill.”

”Anything different you noticed about these animals?” asked Zerg King Cid Warlock.

Lucas thought for a moment and pulled on his thread and brought one of the half-dead, crippled arctic fox he brought with them. As if the artic fox canʼt feel pain it continues to growl at Lucas and motion biting gestures.

Grrrrrrrrr~

Everyone saw the mutilated Arctic Fox after the spider thread was removed. It had broken limbs, even its neck bends in an unimaginable angle, yet this arctic fox remains alive as if it was a zombie. Upon seeing this scene everyone was shocked but the current situation. Only Cid Warlock noticed the strange grayish eyes of the arctic fox.

As if its original eyes were replaced with hazy light gray pupils which is not normal for an ordinary fox to possess.

Zerg King Cid Warlock said, ”Itʼs eyes… Can foxes have gray eyes?”

”Foxes only have brown or yellow eyes,” responded Roan.

As if he found a sample that would give them the answers to their questions. Cid Warlock decided to inform the Hive about what is happening on the Federation Star and asked his teachers. It would be better of the Zerg Emperor and Zerg Empress to be around. They might have the answers to this strange occurrence on this planet.

Cid Warlock said, ”Donʼt eat anything from this planet and only eat the ones we brought from the Hive! Until the investigation says that these animals are safe to eat no one can eat anything on this planet, whether its animals, fruits or plants. Donʼt try anything!”

Everyone also felt that this weird happenings in this world had something to do with why this arctic foxʼs eyes suddenly mutated in a weird shade. Plus, the information about the other invaded planets about the curse on their lands after the invasion of the Beast Race, they are half sure that this has something to do with this situation.

”I will dissect these things Confidant Lucas had bought. I bought a few things with me. I will try to find the changes on its body.” One of the alliance leaders whose planet focuses on biological research said.

Cid Warlock said, ”I agree. Please donʼt try consuming anything for now as we donʼt know if eating would transfer whatever made these animals crazy to another.”

”I brought lab rats with me. Letʼs try it with other animals first.”

”I will leave it to you. Since itʼs like this, and the animals would attack in droves I will send my soldiers who can fly to check the situation from above. I donʼt think there would be any birds who would fly in this kind of weather.” Cid Warlock said.

”There is also the unknown state of the Elementals. Itʼs better to check on them as well. Your majesty, please allow me to lead a team.” Solan said as he saluted.

The Zerg King agreed as among his subordinates, Solan had the strongest fighting and command ability after his. He can be sure that even if he is surrounded by wild animals like Lucas, they would be able to leave unharmed.

After nodding, Cid Warlock said, ”Make sure to be properly equipped. You may bring as many weapons with you. Safety is the most important. Lucas, take a rest until youʼre healed.”

Lucas responded, ”Yes!”

”As you command, Your Majesty,” said Solan. His original plan was to check on those animals if there are still more around and kill them. Also find something that involves the elementals within the area they are in.

Meanwhile, after eating dinner, Cid Warlock and the alliance leaders gathered in the main camp. They secure a contact with the ones in the Hive Star. They are currently in a video conference with Marquess Conrad Silver and Colonel Cyril Bailey. Cid Warlock reported about the events they had witnessed on their journey and information they had gathered.

Even brought over one of the arctic foxes to share with the couple.

Marques Silver said, [The Zerg Emperor and Zerg Empress have yet to return.]

Cid Warlock was a bit disappointed with that news. ”Then does the teachers know anything about this situation?”

Colonel Bailey responded, [We know. Your verdict not to eat anything from the Federation Star is correct. That energy cannot be consumed or youʼll go mad. Mad in a way you will become a war monger who seeks blood, flesh and fight until your body can no longer move and your mind as well as your soul is dead.]

Cid Warlock and the alliance leaders were stunned by the firsthand information they had received from these guardians of the Hive. They didnʼt expect that they truly knew what was happening. Now that there is someone to explain to them then things would be easier as long they knew that this energy is.

An alliance leader asked, ”Your excellencies, so said this is a cause of a new energy. Do you know what that energy is called?”

Marquess Silver said, [As the peak leaders of your planets, you should know the existence of Gods and Domain Gods. Your Domain Gods might or might not have spoken to you. Only a Domain God who can speak, is an existence that can be considered someone from beyond your worlds. The energy causing havoc in these galaxies is called Chaos Energy.

It is an energy that is supposed to help one planet increase in strength. Unfortunately, it is an energy that not an ordinary god can control. As this energy can also be considered nourishment for a planet and increase its lifespan.]

Colonel Bailey added, [It is also an energy that mortals cannot consume. Even though it is called energy it leans more to Yin Energies and cannot be eaten at all. Those who consumed it accidentally or not, will go mad. The situation of the Beast Race must be this. The original source of it must be found on the Beast Star.]

Marquess Silver said, [Donʼt be greedy for it. Itʼs not an energy you guys can control. You will just end up like the Beast Race. All those affected by Chaos energy can never reincarnate as it burns oneʼs lifespan of those who consume it. Why do you think that arctic fox can still move when itʼs supposed to be dead?

The energy is making it move as it is an aggressive energy once tainted by the mortalʼs body.]

Colonel Bailey said, [Those who are affected by the Chaos Energy would seek anything stronger than its hostʼs vessel. Donʼt worry it cannot be transferred through bites, scratches or saliva. As long as you donʼt consume the flesh of those affected you will be okay.]

Cid Warlock asked, ”What can we do if we get infected by the Chaos energy?”

With this question neither Marquess Silver nor Colonel Bailey responded right away and this made those who were waiting for an answer turn pale as if they already knew the answer of this question.

Marquess Silver spoke after noticing the fear on the face of those on the opposite side of the video call. [There is no cure just get someone to kill you before you kill the others. Only those who adopt may somehow retain their rationality, but it wouldnʼt stop the thirst for war no matter what they do.

Also, for them to be save you need that exalted personʼs help, but whether he is willing to help mortals it might be in according to his whims.]

Silence descended inside the main tent where Cid Warlock and the rest are.

Colonel Bailey said, [Just donʼt eat it. Is it that hard to do? As for the current situation on Federation Planet, if you want it to return to normal only His Majesty, the Zerg Empress is capable of doing so. So, you can only wait for their return. If you are going to stay we are going to send more food. You are not allowed to eat anything from that planet.

It is most likely affected by the Chaos Energy.]

Cid Warlock asked, ”Teachers who is this exalted person you are talking about?”

[Donʼt ask. You will know only if he wanted you to know. We are not allowed to tell you who he is,] Marquess Silver said, [I suggest that you keep all those corpses of animals affected by Chaos energy, burn it to ashes and mix it within the land. That will help your land be fertile for a few hundreds of years. That should be enough reward for your effort of going to that planet.

Once you are done playing, come back. Your works have started to pile up as tall as hills if this continues.]

Zerg King Cid Warlock scratched his face as he knew that his teacher didnʼt want to tire his wife, Colonel Bailey, who helps organize his job in the Hive.

”Haha~”

Marquess Silver glares, [What are you laughing about?]

”Yes! I will finish the things here as soon as possible?!” said Cid Warlock.
