I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 1176: 18.14 First Grey Star - Legendary Beef for hambuger

Following the meal, Doctor Guang knelt down next to the elderly mayor, who was playing with the cubs. The elderly man is not going to be so forgiving of Doctor Guang because, in addition to being employed by the Mo Clan, he is a rude brat who has no manners toward the elderly.

Mo Xuejing refrained from offering assistance, but even though he did not see the old man with contempt, he felt unsatisfied, even though he could not put his finger on it.

At the counter table...

This picture shows Ye Jieye and Mo Xuejing seated next to each other, talking while the restaurant owner serves the other customer some milk tea and himself some black tea.

”Did you come here just to visit the cubs?” Ye Jieye asked.

Mo Xuejing happily took the iced strawberry milk tea Ye Jieye passed to him. He enjoyed his drink first before answering.

”I truly wanted to see the cubs, but I also have another business with you.”

”Is it about the unknown-grade ingredient in the Tornado Mountain Range?” Ye Jieye nonchalantly asked.

Though he has not brought the information about Ye Jieye to the Information Broker Leica, Lu Shang, a young master of the Lu Clan, was spotted coming out of the restaurant on their way here, so Mo Xuejing was not surprised when Ye Jieye asked this question. He had already ordered some of his people to look into the Lu Clan.

His investigation was quickly ended upon learning that there were no Ye Jieyes in the Lu Clan; this suggests that Ye Jieyeʼs existence within the Lu Clan has either been sealed or eliminated by a high-ranking Lu Clan member.

Mo Xuejing said, ”Yes, my people said itʼs a god-grade ingredient. But I know you arenʼt interested in that, the best premium beef ingredient is in season. It would come out in that Mountain Ranges. 1 star legendary-grade Behemoth Carabao would wake up.”

The old man who was spying on the conversation suddenly exclaimed, ”Behemoth Carabao! Boy, you must go and catch a few back for this old man! Any part of the Behemoth Carabao is delicious. We can make samgyupsal, hotpot, hamburger, and more.”

The cubs who heard about hamburgers, ”Papa, Hamburger.”

”Chambuger! Cham~buger~”

Not far from them, Doctor Guang and the old man, who were already imagining all kinds of beef cuisine, are drooling in the corner. Seeing them like this, Ye Jieye could only sigh.

Ye Jieye said, ”Okay, I will hunt that Premium Beef for you.”

Yippee!!!

Ye Jieye watches as the two cubs, the old man, and the glutton, cheer and seem amused by the cubs, who used to tell him stories about their fatherʼs hamburger cooking.

He is very kind and patient with Ye Jingxia and Anxia, but no matter what he does, there is no attraction between his soul and his wifeʼs soul, so no matter how similar they are, he knows that Mo Xuejing is not his wifeʼs incarnation. His eyes grew cold at this realization.

Ye Jieye said, ”Give me three days to prepare. I need to renew my license before entering another Danger Zone.”

”Eh? But I heard you go hunting in the Death Forest. Donʼt this danger zone check your license when you go there?” Doctor Guang asked in confusion.

Ye Jieye raised an eyebrow and said, ”Would someone ask for your credentials in your own backyard?”

”Backyard, are you talking about the Death Forest?” Doctor Guang exclaimed with a pale face.

Tsk!

”Xiao Jing, Xiao An, go play with Grandpa and your Uncle Mo outside. Bring Oreo with you if youʼre going to the forest. Papa is opening the restaurant now,” Ye Jieye said.

The cubs were allowed to play outside the house with Oreo as playmates. Ye Jieye doesnʼt need to worry about his children playing outside as System Yue and System Yang are there to watch over them.

Ye Jingxia drew a circle in the air while chanting a cute chant to summon something.

”Oreo~ oreo~ play with us~”

”Is that a summoning chant? Itʼs a bit... weird...”

Examining the summoning hole the small cub had formed, Doctor Guang was taken aback by Ye Jingxiaʼs ability to summon a creature of Ye Jingxiaʼs age, considering that children of that age typically had difficulty contracting with clever beasts since they were difficult to control.

”Wow~ what will our baby cub summon?” Doctor Guang said as he peeked through the hole.

Doctor Guang was staring at the summoning portal when Mo Xuejing and the old man grabbed the cubs, sensing that something very dangerous was approaching. Suddenly, a basketball-sized, round, black-and-white object emerged from the portal and struck Doctor Guang squarely in the face, causing him to fall to the ground with a loud bang and a round, fuzzy object clinging to his face.

UGEK!

BAM!

The unfortunate doctor became a human pancake on the floor of the restaurant. Mo Xuejing and Old Mu saw the animal standing on Guangʼs face and knew right away that it was a bulldog-shaped puppy with a black and white pattern.

Old Mu said, ”Is this a puppy? A World Devouring Mastiff Puppy?”

”But itʼs too small even for a puppy,” Mo Xuejing commented as he knew how humungous a World Devouring Mastiff is. It is one of the inedible and most dangerous ingredients in existence. Itʼs an unknown grade found only in the ruins of time.

Ye Jieye said, ”That one is mutated. It can shrink to all sizes. Itʼs Xiao Jingʼs pet.”

”Oreo~ I miss you so much.” Ye Jingxia as he runs towards the puppy and hugs it in his arms.

Woof. Arf! Arf! Pants. pants.

It had been a while since it allowed him to join his adventures in the other worlds, but the most dangerous dog on the planet was happily barking at his little master and even licking his face; Oreo wanted to grow bigger so that his little master could ride him, but a deadly glare stopped him.

Ye Jieye said, ”Donʼt increase your size inside the store. Go outside to play.”

Arroo... Woof!

Oreo brought away his little master and the little princess, who was clinging to her brother. Seeing this scene, the old man also chooses to leave to look after the cubs.

Old Mu said, ”This old man will take his leave as well. Xiao Ye, you promise about the beef?”

”Yes, I will go alright. Leave and do your farm already, gramps.” Ye Jieye said.

e saw the old man dragging the unconscious Doctor Guang in his hand. He was pulling him effortlessly and was intending to punish this brat by helping him farm the whole day.

Old Mu said, ”Iʼm borrowing this rude brat. If you are staying in this town you can rent a room above the restaurant. There should be a vacant one on the second floor. The little babies would love you to stay here until you leave to go hunting.”

”I understand Senior,” Mo Xuejing said.

Old Mu snorted, ”Call me Grandpa!”

”...Yes, Grandpa.” Mo Xuejing said after a short hesitation. He had a feeling he couldnʼt play with the Cubs if he didnʼt follow what this grumpy old man wanted.

When the others went, Mo Xuejing was left behind and had no idea what to do; the only person left was Ye Jieye, who was occupied in the kitchen making the restaurantʼs food.

Mo Xuejing asked, ”Um... What should I do next?”

”Arenʼt you going to play with the Cubs? They should have run off to play on the outskirts of the Death Forest. Well, itʼs a bit too late to follow them now. How about you take a seat somewhere to rest?” asked Ye Jieye who was stirring a ladle in a huge pot of braised sheep pig. ”There are some cakes and desserts in the fridge, go get what you want. Ah!

Can you help me bring out the chalkboard and write the menu for today?”

Mo Xuejing nodded his head and found the chalk on the shelf. He carried the small chalkboard and asked,

”What should I write?”

”Todayʼs Special Set: Braised Sheep Pig, Tea Eggs, and Lemon White Rice. Local Price: 100,000/ Visitorʼs Price: 1 Million.”

Mo Xuejing asked, ”Why is the price between locals and visitors this different?”

”All ingredients I used were rare and legendary grades. A million is already a bargain. As for why I priced it cheap for the locals because people of this town can catch the ingredients I use themselves. They only come here if they are too lazy to cook. By the way, you donʼt need to pay, but that doctor does.” Ye Jieye once again focused himself on cooking.

Having figured out what to write on the blackboard, Mo Xuejing took it outside and got to work. The villagers had already heard about Ye Jieyeʼs guests—that nasty guy had been dragged to the farm by the town mayor—so when they saw Mo Xuejing working in the restaurant, they assumed he was the other guest.

A few aunts approached Mo Xuejing without him noticing...

”Young man, are you the guest of Xiao Ye ba?”

”How pretty~ you are, such a beautiful child.”

”Whatʼs the set meal for today?”

Mo Xuejing was suddenly bombarded with questions and was only able to answer one question which was the last one.

”The Special Set today is Braised Sheep Pig, Lemon White Rice, and Tea Eggs.”

”So cute~ darling, what is your name?”

”What is your relationship with Xiao Ye?”

”Are you from the capital?”

”Wow~ your skin is so white. What kind of brand do you use?”

Surrounded by aunts, Mo Xuejing didnʼt know what to do next and just stood in place speechless. It was at that time that Ye Jieye came out of the restaurant.

Ding~ Ling~

Ye Jieye, who was carrying a basket of fruit, found this scene strange. He asked,

”What are you guys doing?”

The ecstatic aunties stopped moving abruptly, and Mo Xuejing, scared of the auntsʼ extreme enthusiasm, used this as an opportunity to flee, running towards Ye Jieye and hiding behind him.

”Xiao Ye, are you going to set up the fruit stall?”

”Stop scaring him. He came here to visit Xiao Jing and Xiao Xia. He is helping me look for information about legendary-grade ingredients. He is a Gourmet Hunter, Mo Xuejing.” Ye Jieye said.

”So the child is a Hunter. He is here to accompany you to hunt?”

”But arenʼt you a soloist? As a chef, you hunt your own ingredients. Do you even need a partner?”

”So what if they arenʼt partners? They can still hunt together and let Xiao Ye do the cooking. Isnʼt there a saying that two is better than one?”

”Xiao Ye, are you here to set up your fruit stall? Sell a few pears to aunt. The little ones at home wanted to have some pear jam.”

”Are there still some cherries? Aunt also wants to buy some.”

”I have. Let me set up the stall first. Little Tree, fruit stall!” Ye Jieye said as the tree house started moving its branches and made a few wooden tables with dividers on them. As if used to it, Ye Jieye placed some fruits and hung another smaller chalkboard with a price written, 10,000 per piece.

The aunts left after they bought their fruits leaving Mo Xuejing looking at the tree house where the restaurant with two floors is attached.

”Is this the living tree house? Amazing, where did you find the seed for it?” Mo Xuejing asked.

Ye Jieye answered, ”At the Ruins of Time. If you want to go next time, I can accompany you with the two cubs.”

”Really?” Mo Xuejing said, as he was quite excited to hear that, that he didnʼt notice that he was smiling at Ye Jieye.

This smile, which resembles the sincere smile that Hei Anjing usually reserves for him and their family, unnerved Ye Jieye, for he still believed that this Mo Xuejing was not his wifeʼs incarnation; he could not sense the pull of his soul toward him, nor sense his familiar aura; the only things that he shared in common were his gestures, a few expressions, and that scent of sweet floral and minty snow.

Ye Jieye turned his face away, surprising Mo Xuejing. Mo Xuejing was a little miffed at Ye Jieyeʼs habit of maintaining a certain gap between the two of them; whenever he felt like getting closer, the latter would naturally shy away.

”I promise. We will go with you next time. Come rest inside. I made a few fruit tarts for you to enjoy,” Ye Jieye said, clearly trying to avoid meeting the eyes of Mo Xuejing.

Mo Xuejing pretended not to notice such awkwardness between them and said, ”Letʼs go. I can at least help you serve the food.”

Upon their return, the two noticed that the sign on the door had changed from closed to open, meaning that the restaurant was now officially open. Within minutes, many locals, as well as some of the regular hunters who frequent the town to hunt in the Death Forest, came in for dinner before making their way into the forest to hunt.
