This was a piece of valuable information, considering the current situation in Jiu Zhou.

Besides concealing his presence and aura using Glyphs, Lu Ye also used some insectoid blood to cover up his smell as a Human. Also, he was hiding beneath the scarab’s wings. Only then was his concealment considered perfect.

The following journey was smooth sailing as his presence was never exposed again. However, some great insectoids were puzzled as to why the scarab was moving in an opposite direction. After all, they were slightly more intelligent, so they were perplexed by the scarab’s actions. But they never took any action.

There was no doubt the journey was boring. What Lu Ye could do was limited. Whenever they came across a junction, he would give the scarab a direction to prevent it from going astray.

Fortunately, he had other ways to kill time, like looking at what was going on with the Soul Clone.

Presently, the Soul Clone was guarding the chasm. He would take turns with Lin Yue.

Just like how Lin Yue was vigilant against him, Lu Ye naturally wouldn’t keep his guard down. Although the woman had given him a promise, she might not treat everyone fairly when the soldiers fell into danger. She was from Thousand Demon Ridge, after all.

Therefore, the Soul Clone suggested taking turns to keep an eye on the chasm. Lin Yue agreed to the idea and returned to Dark Moon Forest Pass.

Li Taibai was in charge of the chasm, and he was assisted by nearly 500 people from the two Passes. Moreover, they had formed the defences using Wards. Although it couldn’t be said that their defences were impenetrable, they could deal with most situations as long as they didn’t come across an insectoid attack as severe as the previous time.

Cultivators of the two Passes started enjoying the benefits as well.

In the past, they had to form groups and go out there to look for insectoids to earn battle points. It was inefficient, and they would also easily fall into danger. When they bumped into insectoids in the Divine Ocean Realm they couldn’t defeat, they had to send messages to their respective Pass Leaders to call for help.

If the Pass Leaders had some time and could arrive in time, they would be safe. However, if the Pass Leaders were busy or arrived late, they would be injured or even killed.

Now, they didn’t have to worry about it. They just had to wait at the chasm. Whenever some insectoids in the Divine Ocean Realm emerged, they could work together to kill them.

When there were no insectoids, they could cultivate their powers.

However, due to the long-time war between them, they could never collaborate wholeheartedly. Divided by the chasm, both parties stayed across from each other.

That said, it was a rare collaboration between them.

Higher-ups of the two sides had noticed their collaboration, and they had respectively sent some people over to observe what was going on. It was said that the higher-ups of the two sides intended to promote this kind of collaboration, but it would take some time for the plan to materialise.

Meanwhile, Lu Ye’s life was boring in the depths of the insectoid passageway. All he did was drive the scarab to keep going further.

As he went deeper, his cultivation was increasingly suppressed. It had come to a point where he could only use a power that was equivalent to the Spirit Creek Realm.

This kind of suppression was horrifying. Lu Ye even suspected that if he kept going deeper, his cultivation would be completely suppressed.

When that happened, he would no longer be able to sustain using the Glyphs to conceal his presence and aura, and he also couldn’t keep going further down.

He was anxious deep down. He had no idea how deep beneath the ground he was. So far, apart from the fact that insectoid blood could help weaken the influence of Yuan Metal Force Field, he hadn’t discovered anything else that was useful. He wasn’t sure if he could find anything useful if he kept doing this, but it had come to a point where he could only hold on.

At the very least, he had to persevere until he had no choice but to give up.

Some faint light suddenly came into his sight. It was dazzling in the darkness.

Lu Ye was astounded.

It had been more than ten days since he entered the insectoid passageway, and the environment had always been dark. Moreover, he was in the depths beneath the ground, so there shouldn’t be any light.

Since insectoids were everywhere, he couldn’t lift his head to look to prevent getting exposed. He could only keep driving the scarab forward.

The light became increasingly conspicuous. Until the scarab reached the source of the light, Lu Ye finally saw what was over there. He couldn’t help but fall into a dazed state.

What came into his sight was an oval illuminant that was more than 30 metres tall and several metres wide. It just stood at the end of the insectoid passageway. The illuminant’s surface was blurred, looking like an uneven mirror. Many insectoids crawled out of the mirror and joined those who were leaving the insectoid passageway.

Ripples would spread across the mirror whenever some insectoids crawled out of it.

[It’s a portal!] Lu Ye couldn’t believe that there was a portal at the end of the insectoid passageway.

He had been to many Small Hidden Realms, so he was familiar with portals. As such, he recognised what it was at first glance.

Nevertheless, he didn’t understand why there was a portal here.

He initially thought there must be an insectoid nest at the end of the passageway, but much to his surprise, he didn’t see any insectoid nest at all. Instead, there was a portal.

He wondered where the portal would lead. Also, he was perplexed as to how the portal was formed.

It didn’t look like the portal had always been there. If that were the case, the insectoid plague would’ve spread across Jiu Zhou long ago instead of breaking out a few years before. In other words, the portal must have appeared alongside the disaster that sent a shock wave across Jiu Zhou several years ago.

Lu Ye had no idea what was behind the portal, but he reckoned that was where the insectoid nest was located. That was because insectoids kept crawling out of the portal.

As such, he believed the source of the insectoid plague must be behind the portal.

Suddenly, he felt he had found the truth behind a huge secret. Casting away the wild thoughts in his mind, he instructed the scarab to move towards the portal.

He had to enter the portal and find out where it was connected to.

The view around him shifted as the Void undulated. He felt as if he had penetrated an invisible membrane. When his vision recovered, he could see that the place was bright. He had entered a different world.

He came to this conclusion because his Spiritual Power, which had been sluggish due to the influence of Yuan Metal Force Field since he entered the insectoid passageway, instantly recovered.

In other words, there was no Yuan Metal Force Field here. It was apparent that he was no longer in the depths beneath the ground.

He looked around and saw countless insectoids. It was more horrifying than any of the large-scale insectoid attacks he had seen. They were in the air and on the ground.

He had to be more cautious while concealing his presence.

If he was exposed in the insectoid passageway, he still had a chance to break the siege and return to the surface with the help of the Dragon Throne. However, if his presence was exposed here, he would be doomed.

He only had two options now.

The first option was that he could take a step back since the portal was right behind him. By doing so, he could return to the insectoid passageway.

Or, he could keep going further to look around.

Naturally, he wouldn’t go back. It had taken him a lot of effort to reach this place, so he wouldn’t give up. Many Divine Ocean Realm Masters of Jiu Zhou had been looking for the source of the insectoid plague but to no avail. Since Lu Ye was here, he certainly had to find out more.

He didn’t immediately take action, though. Instead, he took some time to see what was going on with the Soul Clone.

As a thought flashed in his mind, he could see everything the Soul Clone was going through without any obstruction.

Then, he took a look at his Battlefield Imprint and discovered he could still contact other people.

This meant that he was probably still in Jiu Zhou. Naturally, it was also possible that he wasn’t in Jiu Zhou. Since the portal was always open, his connection with the Soul Clone wouldn’t be broken, and he could still use his Battlefield Imprint.

The only thing he was certain about was that he was still within the coverage of the Heavens of Jiu Zhou.

It was unlike Blood Refinement Boundary where he couldn’t use the Battlefield Imprint at all.

This made Lu Ye at ease. There wouldn’t be a problem as long as he was still within the coverage of the Heavens.

There were too many insectoids on the ground. The entire world seemed to be filled with insectoids. Although the scarab was huge, countless insectoids in this place were bigger. The scarab staggered as many insectoids crashed into it from different directions.

Lu Ye quickly made the scarab fly into the air to avoid coming into contact with lots of insectoids. Also, only by flying into the sky could he see farther. He wanted to know what this world looked like.

As they continued to soar higher, there were fewer insectoids around them.

It wasn’t until the scarab could no longer go higher that Lu Ye stealthily lifted his head.

There were still some insectoids in the air which exuded savage auras. However, they were only a small number compared with the insectoids on the ground.

Furthermore, since the scarab had soared high enough, coupled with the fact that Lu Ye sustained using the Glyphs to conceal his presence and aura, he could avoid getting exposed. As long as he wouldn’t make any noise, he wouldn’t attract the attention of other insectoids.

He looked down and saw innumerable insectoids crawling on the ground and flying at different altitudes. They filled the entire world. There seemed to be a mound in the distance. He could see even more mounds in farther places.

He could also see massive and hideous creatures wielding their claws and hissing on the ground.

Those were the insectoids he had never seen before. Just by looking at them from afar, he felt pressured. It showed how powerful they were.

He suddenly recalled that when he returned to Jiu Zhou from Blood Refinement Boundary previously, he saw many floating continents. At that time, he figured that those floating continents were the Hidden Realms which were connected to Jiu Zhou. He was certain that they included Myriad Beast Domain, Soaring Dragon Boundary, and other Hidden Realms he had visited before.

Also, he caught sight of a larger floating continent where many hideous insectoids roamed on it. However, since he was drawn to Jiu Zhou quickly, he couldn’t see everything with clarity.

Now, it seemed that he wasn’t mistaken.

He wondered if his location was the huge floating continent he had seen at that time.

This was supposed to be a Hidden Realm that was attached to Jiu Zhou. It was so vast that it couldn’t be called a Small Hidden Realm. It was a Great Hidden Realm that belonged to the insectoids.

Insectoids had always been around in Jiu Zhou. When he was on the Spirit Creek Battlefield back then, he even came across an insectoid attack. At that time, he wondered where the insectoids came from.

Now, it seemed that this place was the source.

The insectoid attacks on the Spirit Creek Battlefield were trials that the Heavens gave to the cultivators. At the same time, they were considered rewards as cultivators could earn some Contribution points by killing insectoids.

It could be said that the insectoid attacks on the Spirit Creek Battlefield were probably controlled by the Heavens.

In that case, what about the insectoid plague in Jiu Zhou this time?
