Lu Ye stopped attacking aggressively. Since he realised Liu Yuemei was pretending to be weak, he naturally had to be vigilant.

With the saber in his hand, he directly pushed it forward.

The space within the Deathmatch Platform seemed to have turned a shade darker. Following that, countless bright Stars fell from above. Every Starlight was a sharp Saber Light.

When the Stars descended, the Spiritual Power Shield around Liu Yuemei undulated and broke apart. She had already expected it, so the moment the Spiritual Power Shield was shattered, another layer appeared.

She had used the second protective Spirit Treasure.

As she radiated a glow, streaks of lightning suddenly wandered around her figure. They formed a huge lightning ball, which exploded and expanded in all directions rapidly.

A radius of 90 metres around the area instantly turned into a Lightning Field. Rays of light crisscrossed each other, dancing like snakes.

The moment Lu Ye saw the lightning wandering around Liu Yuemei’s figure, he knew he was in danger. Thankfully, he had been vigilant. Right after he cast Starburst, he was ready to fly backwards.

But regardless of how quickly he could move, he couldn’t be faster than lightning.

The Lightning Field soon expanded and engulfed him.

He started shuddering violently and almost lost grip of the Inviolable Saber. Although he wanted to stay out of the Lightning Field, he could hardly move a muscle when struck by the lightning. He was so stiff that he looked like a marionette.

The Lightning Field Secret Technique that Liu Yuemei used this time was less fatal than the previous one, but the wandering lightning could render her opponent immovable. Lu Ye felt as if he was stuck in a swamp.

It was apparent to him that his opponent had targeted him this way to limit his movements. He would most certainly deal with a storm of attacks soon.

But when he saw what was going on before him, he squinted his eyes.

That was because Liu Yuemei was in the same state as him. She was so stiff that she looked like another marionette.

Lu Ye instantly understood that the Lightning Field Secret Technique didn’t only affect him but also Liu Yuemei. It was no wonder she had refrained from using it. It wasn’t that she wasn’t powerful enough; it was just that the Secret Technique was strange.

Following that, Liu Yuemei’s eyes radiated an icy glint as she madly activated her Soul Power.

Lu Ye could see Liu Yuemei turning into a beam of light and crashing into his head at an inconceivable speed. It was as if an invisible hammer had struck his forehead, forcing him to tip his head back.

He quickly stabilised himself and lowered his figure. As he remained in the same spot, he realised what Liu Yuemei was trying to do. She wanted to get into a battle of Divine Souls with him.

She must have realised that in the space within the Deathmatch Platform, a physical fight like this would only put her in a perilous situation. Therefore, she intended to use her forte and force Lu Ye to get into a battle of Divine Souls.

The Lightning Field was meant to restrict him so that it would be easier for her to launch a Soul Secret Technique.

The figure he had seen wasn’t Liu Yuemei’s body. Instead, it was her Soul Body. That was why it could crash into his mind.

It had to be said that Liu Yuemei had made a wise decision in the most determined way. Her combat experience over the years proved to be useful.

She couldn’t get the upper hand by fighting her opponent physically. She was even put in a disadvantageous position. If she kept on fighting like that, her chances of winning the battle would be slim.

Naturally, she wouldn’t take such a risk. Since she couldn’t win physically, she decided to fight with her Divine Soul.

Her rationale was simple. Regardless of how ample Lu Ye’s heritage was, he was only a Second-Order Divine Ocean Realm Master. Although she couldn’t physically defeat Lu Ye, she had the confidence to do so with her Divine Soul.

Her confidence came from the fact that she was a Seventh-Order Divine Ocean Realm Master.

Certainly, her decision also showed how decisive she was. Although Divine Ocean Realm Masters would also contend with each other using Soul Powers, such a direct battle of Divine Souls was rarely seen. That was because such a battle was tremendously more dangerous than a normal fight. In the worst-case scenario, the loser’s Divine Soul would be damaged or even destroyed.

Just like what she had expected, Lu Ye’s Soul Power Shield wasn’t strong. She could break through it without using much effort as her Soul Body entered his Divine Ocean.

She was surprised by what she saw because the scale of the Divine Ocean was much larger than that of an average Second-Order Divine Ocean Realm Master.

[He’s such a monster. Not only is he physically strong, but his Divine Ocean is also more powerful than what’s normal in his Minor Realm.]

She cast her thoughts away and launched a series of ferocious attacks at the Divine Ocean. In an instant, the ocean undulated as waves surged.

There were pros and cons when it came to getting into a battle of Divine Souls in the opponent’s Divine Ocean. The advantage she had was that she could cast all sorts of Soul Secret Techniques without worries because only the opponent’s Divine Ocean would be affected.

The disadvantage she had to face was that her Soul Power couldn’t be replenished. On the other hand, since it was the opponent’s mind, his Soul Power could be replenished endlessly as long as his Divine Ocean was still around.

Liu Yuemei had been a cultivator for a long time, and she ascended to the Divine Ocean Realm years ago. Although she had limited experience in the battle of Divine Souls, she was still more experienced than Lu Ye.

Therefore, she started attacking the Divine Ocean the moment she entered his mind. She knew the more violent her attacks were, the more unbearable it was for the opponent.

While she was kicking up a storm, a Soul Body suddenly appeared in the middle of the Divine Ocean. It was Lu Ye, whose Soul Body showed up after he sank his soul into his mind.

When he saw what Liu Yuemei was doing, he was furious. He immediately pounced on the woman while driving the water columns to rise from his Divine Ocean and shoot towards Liu Yuemei with a flash of thought. That was how he counterattacked using his Soul Power.

Liu Yuemei had no intention of dodging the attacks as she continuously activated her Soul Power and slashed at the water columns.

Even Lu Ye’s Soul Body trembled uncontrollably upon impact. If not for the fact he could easily replenish his Soul Power as it was his mind, his Soul Body would’ve been destroyed.

This was the kind of battle Liu Yuemei had an advantage in. She sneered. “You’re doomed, Lu Yi Ye!”

Lu Ye remained silent with a dark expression.

It was outrageous that his opponent acted so arrogantly in his mind. He felt like a robber had barged into his house. Not only had the person taken his things away, but she also derided him.

This couldn’t be helped, as it had only been half a year since he ascended to the Divine Ocean Realm, and he had never gotten into a battle of Divine Souls before. Since it was his first time experiencing it, it was only natural that he wasn’t adept at it.

Moreover, in such a fight, his physical strength was useless.

He could only keep attacking Liu Yuemei and use the Divine Ocean’s power to inundate her with waves, hoping to harm her.

All his moves were useless. Both his Soul Body and the waves from the Divine Ocean were warded off by Liu Yuemei.

Although the situation was chaotic, he wasn’t flustered because he had the Soul Soothing Tower in his Divine Ocean. Even if his Soul Power was exhausted, his life wouldn’t be at risk. It was unless Liu Yuemei was able to shatter his Soul Soothing Tower and destroy his Divine Ocean.

But it wouldn’t be easy for her to achieve that as the Soul Soothing Tower was a Soul Artifact.

Moreover, since she was in someone else’s mind, she couldn’t replenish her Soul Power. Once her attacks weakened, the crisis would be over.

That said, such a fight was truly vexing.

He was a Combat Cultivator, after all. Fighting someone without a weapon felt strange to him. How he wished he had a saber in his hand now.

As the thought turned over in his mind, he suddenly recalled something. He stopped pouncing on Liu Yuemei and remained in the same spot.

Liu Yuemei detected the anomaly and immediately lifted her hand to cast a myriad of attacks against Lu Ye’s Soul Body.

Her attacks were stopped by the layers of water screens. These water screens were the manifestations of the Soul Power.

Every time a layer was shattered, it meant a bit of his Soul Power was gone. Once he consumed too much of his Soul Power, he would be in a perilous situation.

As they attacked each other and defended themselves, a sense of unease suddenly washed over Liu Yuemei. However, she couldn’t put a finger on where the feeling came from.

She couldn’t think deeply about it as she was in an intense fight.

Her Soul Attacks were continuous as layers of water screens were destroyed. Following that, she sensitively detected that something was off. The layer of water screen nearest to her suddenly separated.

The next moment, Lu Ye’s Soul Body emerged from the gap.

Liu Yuemei snorted and cast a series of connected Soul Attacks which ferociously came at Lu Ye.

She had dealt with Lu Ye’s Soul Body this way, inflicting so much pain on him that he could only retreat.

But this time, Lu Ye reacted differently as he never dodged the attacks.

Saber Lights suddenly flickered and destroyed all of Liu Yuemei’s Soul Attacks.

[Where are the Saber Lights coming from?] Liu Yuemei was flabbergasted. When she saw what was going on, she was rooted to the spot.

That was because Lu Ye was holding a saber which looked familiar to her. It was none other than his Spell Artifact.

How was the Spell Artifact even brought into the Divine Ocean? Or, was the Spell Artifact also a Soul Artifact? But this was impossible. Spell Artifacts and Soul Artifacts were two different things.

Many thoughts turned over in Liu Yuemei’s mind, but she couldn’t explain the turn of events.

It was only natural that she was bewildered because Lu Ye wasn’t holding the Inviolable Saber. Although the Inviolable Saber was a Top-Grade Spell Artifact, it couldn’t be brought into the Divine Ocean.

What he was holding was the Soul Cutting Saber.

Due to the uniqueness of the Soul Cutting Saber, it had transformed to look identical to the Inviolable Saber. Since this was the weapon Lu Ye was most familiar with, it would allow him to fully activate his power.

Just now, he was lamenting that he didn’t have a saber in his hand when he suddenly thought of the Soul Cutting Saber.

However, not long after he acquired the Soul Cutting Saber, he assimilated it into the Inviolable Saber, allowing the latter to be upgraded. That was why he had this misconception that the weapon was a tangible thing and never thought about bringing the Soul Cutting Saber into his Divine Ocean.

Since the idea suddenly sprang into his mind, he decided to give it a try and successfully took the Soul Cutting Saber into his Divine Ocean.
