While in mid-air, Lu Ye lowered his figure and activated his Spiritual Power to stabilise himself. In the next instant, he pounced on Yu Daiwei like a flash of red lightning descending from the sky.

He wielded his saber and destroyed the myriad of spells coming at him, whereas Yu Daiwei quickly flew backwards.

Having suffered a setback, she finally knew how horrifyingly powerful Lu Ye was, so she wouldn’t dare to remain in the same spot and tackle him. Lu Ye managed to get close to her earlier because she didn’t expect him to be so powerful, and she was caught off guard as Lu Ye had flared up suddenly.

Two figures rapidly flew across the sky. During the pursuit, spells and Saber Lights clashed, making the place boisterous. The insectoids which had been attracted by the fluctuations of Spiritual Powers were destroyed by the repercussions and exploded into Blood Mists before they even got near.

Lu Ye could no longer shorten the distance between them as there was a huge gap between their powers. Although he had activated Bloodrage, there was a limit as to how much his power would be boosted. It wasn’t like his power would increase endlessly after he used Bloodrage. He had already expected it anyway.

Still, he had contended with his opponent to his heart’s content. Although he had managed to slash at Yu Daiwei several times, he didn’t get to hurt her. However, he had achieved his goal as he had a better understanding of his current power.

Naturally, he had some trump cards he hadn’t used. The situation was awkward for him because he couldn’t shorten the distance between them. Nevertheless, he had a chance to do that if he activated the Blood River.

If he used the Blood River Technique with blood essence, it would be more powerful than an average Blood River. Once he dragged Yu Daiwei into the Blood River, he would be at a huge advantage.

When he flared up and got close to Yu Daiwei earlier, it was the best chance to use the Blood River Technique.

He also had the Dragon Throne. However, Yu Daiwei was no ordinary Divine Ocean Realm Master. Lu Ye wasn’t sure if he could kill her when he used all the trump cards.

Anyway, he had no intention of killing her. He had waited here because he wanted to fight her and find out where his limit was.

Although Yu Daiwei had captured him previously, she didn’t hurt him. There wasn’t an insolvable blood feud between them, and Tai Shan needed his help.

Zhang Song had come over to subdue him, not kill him. But he was forced to end his life in the end.

After a battle like this, Lu Ye realised a shortcoming of his. He lacked a skill which would allow him to reach an opponent quickly. If a Combat Cultivator couldn’t get near to his opponent, he wouldn’t pose a threat to the other party. This was something every Combat Cultivator had to consider.

He could consider activating the Blood Conveyance Technique, but his speed wouldn’t be fast enough to catch the opponent off guard and defeat the other party with only one move if he didn’t use blood essence. Also, there was a limit as to how many times he could use blood essence.

While the thoughts turned over in his mind, Yu Daiwei suddenly shouted, “Let’s stop fighting!”

Lu Ye immediately stopped in his tracks, but he couldn’t calm down his boiling aura in a short time.

Yu Daiwei hurriedly widened their distance for a bit before stopping. She sized him up, finally seeing him in a different light. She didn’t seem pleased with the outcome of the battle.

This couldn’t be helped, as she was unable to defeat Lu Ye despite being an Eighth-Order Divine Ocean Realm Master. She would be too embarrassed to tell anyone about it.

If the battle continued, there was no doubt she would be in an advantageous position as she had ample heritage, but that was pointless. She had come to capture Lu Ye, not kill him.

It seemed that she couldn’t complete the task. She wondered how this man even cultivated his power as he could always kill much stronger opponents in every Realm. It became even more preposterous when he was in the Divine Ocean Realm.

Considering the power he had showcased, he could easily kill Divine Ocean Realm Masters in the Fourth Order and Fifth Order. Only Divine Ocean Realm Masters in the Sixth Order and above could contend with him.

In other words, she had to regard Lu Ye as a Divine Ocean Realm Master in the Sixth Order, not the First Order.

Given her power, she couldn’t capture a Sixth-Order Divine Ocean Realm Master. If the battle dragged on, it would only attract nearby insectoids or other Divine Ocean Realm Masters from the Grand Sky Coalition. As such, making peace with Lu Ye was the only option.

Fortunately, Lu Ye was sensible as he immediately stopped making a move when she called out to him. Otherwise, she would’ve had to flee in such a situation.

After all, her identity couldn’t be exposed. It was unlike Lu Ye who could move around and contend with his opponents in broad daylight.

“You are not bad, brat,” Yu Daiwei said through clenched teeth. She seemed eager to skin the man alive.

Lu Ye remained silent and put his saber back into the sheath. However, his aura didn’t weaken, and Bloodrage was still running.

“Are you a mute? Say something!” Yu Daiwei was furious because she not only failed to complete her task but was also humiliated.

“Is Tai Shan looking for me?” Lu Ye asked.

Yu Daiwei’s pupils dilated. “How do you know that name?”

She was nearby when the Lord conversed with Lu Ye previously, so she was certain the Lord had never revealed his name, and she surely wouldn’t tell Lu Ye that. How did he learn of the name Tai Shan? Yu Daiwei couldn’t figure it out.

Getting no response from the other party, she frowned. “The Lord would like to invite you over to have a discussion with you.”

Lu Ye replied impassively, “The way you invite a guest is special.”

If he were weak, it would’ve been a capture, not an invitation, just like what had happened previously. Since he had showcased a great power, he had a right to be invited.

“Tell Tai Shan that I’ll look for him, but it’s not now. Also, before I contact you, don’t come to harass me. Otherwise, I’ll expose his embarrassing tales!”

Feng Wujiang had told him how to deal with Tai Shan. He knew what Tai Shan was doing because the latter had worked for him. Lu Ye and Feng Wujiang had discussed this matter when they were on the Sacred Island.

If Feng Wujiang were still in Jiu Zhou, Tai Shan would’ve obeyed his orders. However, people changed, and a long time had passed. Therefore, even Feng Wujiang wasn’t certain about Tai Shan’s temperament.

He had told Lu Ye to come into contact with Tai Shan when the time was right. Lu Ye had to lay his cards on the table, and if things worked out well, Tai Shan might be of great help to him.

He needed time to devise his plan, so he couldn’t meet Tai Shan now.

At the very least, he had to become powerful enough to flee from him before he had a right to have a discussion with him. Otherwise, it would be unwise for him to go over there and let someone else decide his fate.

Upon finishing his words, he turned around and shot into the sky.

A myriad of expressions came over Yu Daiwei. Suddenly recalling something, she shouted, “Where’s Dao Thirteen?”

“He’s dead!” Lu Ye’s voice was heard coming from the distance. Yu Daiwei gritted her teeth and stomped her foot on the ground.

The Lord didn’t have many Dao Troopers because it was difficult to make them. Dao Thirteen could be considered one of the best among them, so it was a shame that he was dead.

However, Dao Thirteen was nowhere to be found. Since Lu Ye had said he was dead, he probably was.

Yu Daiwei didn’t stay there. Although the battle only lasted briefly, it was loud. Some Divine Ocean Realm Masters would’ve been attracted to this place if they were nearby.

After leaving the place, she found a secretive spot and reported to the Lord about her encounter with Lu Ye. Soon, the Lord replied, ‘Just wait.’

Naturally, Yu Daiwei would obey his order.

Meanwhile, Lu Ye was flying towards his destination. When he was certain Yu Daiwei wasn’t running after him, he dispelled Bloodrage.

Although his power was significantly boosted when the Glyph was running, he needed to use a lot of energy. As such, he couldn’t sustain it for a long time.

He had lost a drop of blood essence during the battle. Although blood essence was precious to the Blood Race, it was nothing to Lu Ye. He could easily refine one more drop when he had some time.

Half a day later, a magnificent city came into his sight. He had arrived at Grand Sky City.

He finally saw the familiar city again after two years, so a sense of affinity instantly rose within him. Without stopping, he flew into the city.

It was obvious that there were significantly fewer cultivators in Grand Sky City now. As Lu Ye scanned the surroundings with his Divine Ego, he realised not many Divine Ocean Realm Masters were around. This would never happen in the past. The situation must have something to do with the insectoid plague.

Many cultivators were scattered around different parts of Bing Zhou to protect the commoners, guard the chasms, or lend a hand to those in need of help. This caused a plunge in the number of cultivators in Grand Sky City.

Naturally, some people had to stay behind to protect this place. After all, it was the command centre of the Grand Sky Coalition in Bing Zhou.

Lu Ye went to Tang Yi Feng’s residence but couldn’t find him. The entire place was void of people. This was to be expected. Lu Ye then headed to the Ministry of Laws. Since no one guarded the entrance, he walked straight into it.

He instantly saw a familiar person who was seated behind the desk with a dejected expression. His hair was dishevelled, and his chin was full of stubble. It seemed that he hadn’t gotten any rest for the past few days. In front of him were a lot of jade slips which had to be dealt with.

“Senior Brother Cheng?” Lu Ye was surprised.

The person seated behind the desk was Cheng Xiu, who was Qian Wudang’s assistant. When Lu Ye was in Blue Flame Mountain Pass back then, Cheng Xiu would regularly come to collect Explosive Fire Spirit Stones from him.

He was a Ninth-Order Real Lake Realm Master at that time, but he was a Divine Ocean Realm Master now. Lu Ye wasn’t the only one who had grown in power in the past two years.

Upon hearing his voice, Cheng Xiu lifted his head in a dazed state, and he soon appeared shocked.

That was because Lu Ye had been missing for two years. Although they were certain he was still alive, no one knew where he was. Before the insectoid plague broke out, the Sect Master of the Crimson Blood Sect, Tang Yi Feng, had used all sorts of ways to look for Lu Ye, but all of his attempts failed. When the insectoid plague broke out, he had no more energy left to find out Lu Ye’s whereabouts.

Much to Cheng Xiu’s surprise, the man who had been missing for two years suddenly appeared before his eyes.

“You’re finally back, Lu Yi Ye.” Cheng Xiu put on a smile.

Lu Ye replied with a smile as well, “Did everything change when I wasn’t around, Senior Brother Cheng? Have you gotten a promotion? Where’s our Commander Qian? Is he dead?”

Cheng Xiu was torn between tears and laughter. “Stop saying nonsense, Junior Brother. The Commander had to head out to attend to some matters, so he asked me to deal with some miscellaneous tasks for him.”

Only then did Lu Ye realise what was going on.

Naturally, he knew a powerful cultivator like Qian Wudang wouldn’t die easily. He was just curious about why Cheng Xiu was seated there to deal with the work. It seemed that the situation in Bing Zhou was more serious than he had thought. Otherwise, Qian Wudang wouldn’t have easily left the Ministry of Laws.
