The dark liquid had perfectly assimilated into the weapon, but it could be controlled by Lu Ye using his Divine Ego. In other words, he could use the dark liquid to build enchantments within the blade.

In that case, as long as he could construct sufficient enchantments, the Inviolable Saber could be restored to its original quality or even become a better one.

This meant that, from now on, the Inviolable Saber had become a weapon whose quality could be modified according to his will. If this was achievable, the weapon was immensely helpful to him.

For the longest time, a concern had been bugging him. He wasn’t certain about for how long the Inviolable Saber could keep him company as his power grew.

This was also what most Combat Cultivators found awkward about. Combat Cultivators were particular about their weapons. A long time of companionship, growth, and killing enemies allowed the Combat Cultivators and their weapons to be spiritually connected. They could control their weapons as easily as their arms. With the Inviolable Saber in his hands, Lu Ye could fully use his power. It was the same case for other Combat Cultivators. If they had to use a different weapon, their power wouldn’t weaken significantly, though it would certainly be impacted.

When two powerful cultivators fought, the slightest external influence would be fatal.

Therefore, Lu Ye would rather spend a lot of Contribution points to upgrade the Inviolable Saber than buy a new one. If he wanted to do that, he could choose from the myriad of sabers in the Hall of Battle Points.

Unfortunately, the Inviolable Saber’s foundation was weak. It was originally a Low-Grade Spirit Artifact. Although it had been upgraded to a High-Grade Spirit Artifact and then a Spell Artifact, could it become a Spirit Treasure?

This might or might not be achievable.

There was a huge risk when an item was upgraded. If the upgrade failed, the Inviolable Saber might come apart. When that happened, even if Lu Ye asked someone to custom-make another Inviolable Saber for him, it would no longer be the original one. He had to start over and nurture the weapon so that they would be spiritually connected.

Also, since Lu Ye could increase his power quickly, the Inviolable Saber had to be upgraded frequently as well. This increased the risk of the weapon breaking apart during an upgrade.

Since he was a Divine Ocean Realm Master now, the Inviolable Saber’s quality was no longer suitable for him. It was time for the weapon to be upgraded.

Initially, he had wanted to wait until he had some time before he dealt with it to gain more experience.

There were too many uncertainties when he went to the Vault of Providence and asked someone to upgrade the weapon for him. He wouldn’t know how attentive the other party was when upgrading his weapon.

The problems that had surfaced following his ascension had to be dealt with, but the turn of events had enabled him to see a possibility.

If his speculation was right, he no longer had to be worried about upgrades for the Inviolable Saber. He could change its quality at any moment so that the weapon would better suit his Realm.

After giving it some thought, he felt that his idea was feasible. It was a sign for him that the dark liquid that constituted the Soul Cutting Saber could be controlled by him at will.

Since he had made up his mind, he activated his Divine Ego and infused it into the Inviolable Saber.

It required the use of Divine Ego to control the dark liquid. Lu Ye had given it a try. Activating his Spiritual Power was useless.

After his Divine Ego was activated, the dark liquid within the blade turned into petite elements of Yin and Yang and formed a Glyph.

When he retracted his Divine Ego, the Glyph was fixed within the Inviolable Saber. Since it had become part of the Inviolable Saber, it didn’t damage the weapon at all. An enchantment had been formed just like this.

[It works!] Lu Ye was ecstatic as he continued doing that. A moment later, there were nine enchantments within the Inviolable Saber, making it a Low-Grade Spirit Artifact.

He tried to infuse his Spiritual Power into the weapon. The enchantments could run and function perfectly. After having some fun with it, he dissolved all the enchantments.

It was merely an attempt earlier. Since his idea was feasible, he had to start planning.

Glyphs were the foundation of enchantments in a Spirit Artifact. Both Sharp Edge and Reinforcement were enchantments, and they had different effects.

Of the Spirit Artifacts with the same quality, some were hefty, some were sharp, whereas some were light. It wasn’t only because the materials used were different. It also depended on the composition of the enchantments within them.

A Spirit Artifact would be sturdier with more Reinforcement enchantments. On the other hand, it would be sharper with more Sharp Edge enchantments.

Now, Lu Ye had to consider the proportions of the enchantments.

When the Inviolable Saber needed an upgrade in the past, he would look for Master Yu and tell her some simple instructions, after which Master Yu would be free to work on it. Whether the outcome was good or bad, or whether it could meet his demands and make him happy depended on how well-versed Master Yu was in the Way of Artification.

But it was different now. Lu Ye could custom-make the enchantments for himself. Only he knew what he needed the most.

For a long time, his demand had always been to make the Inviolable Saber heavier. After all, he had to fight his enemies in close-quarters combat. If the weapon wasn’t hefty enough, it would be damaged easily.

Therefore, he had to include more Reinforcement enchantments to make sure that the Inviolable Saber wouldn’t be destroyed during a fight.

Sharp Edge was needed as well. Although he would always activate Sharp Edge to bless his saber during a tussle, the weapon itself had to be sharp.

It was inevitable that he would have to contend with other Divine Ocean Realm Masters. Cultivators in this Realm were adept at protecting themselves. Weapons that were not sharp enough wouldn’t be useful in battles.

Gravity Well was good, so it had to be included in a large quantity as well.

Although the Inviolable Saber wasn’t light, it wasn’t too hefty either. If he could activate Gravity Well during a fight, he would only seem to be making a simple move with his saber. But when the other party dealt with the attack, he would suddenly realise the weapon was the weight of a mountain. How was he supposed to fend it off?

Naturally, it wouldn’t be so extreme in reality, but the existence of Gravity Well would enhance Lu Ye’s power, making it easier for him to deal with his enemies.

He reckoned that he could add Burster as well. Sometimes, it was difficult to inflict serious damage on the enemies. With Burster around, even flesh wounds could be made severe.

[What about adding Invoke Lightning and Golden Arc to the Inviolable Saber?]

A seemingly simple attack could activate Golden Arcs and invoke lightning, which would catch the enemies off guard.

Lu Ye discovered that he had too many enchantments to choose from. They all came from the Tree of Glyphs. So far, 40 Glyphs had been activated on the Tree of Glyphs. Although most of them couldn’t be weaved into weapons, some of them were suitable.

After some deliberation, he decided to cast his wild thoughts away. Just like the skills of a cultivator, quality was more important than quantity when it came to the enchantments in weapons. If he weaved too many Glyphs, there wouldn’t be enough slots for each Glyph, rendering the weapon less useful.

If he wanted to activate any spells, he could do that without any external help. He didn’t need to waste the quota of enchantments within the Inviolable Saber.

His final decision was that he would prioritise Reinforcement and Sharp Edge for the enchantments within the Inviolable Saber. Some Gravity Well would be added, and he would also include two Burster Glyphs.

Upon making up his mind, he started taking action. He activated his Divine Ego to control the dark liquid in the saber and build the Glyphs.

Time went by slowly. The Glyphs that Lu Ye had chosen had already been activated on the Tree of Glyphs, so it wouldn’t take him much effort to weave them.

He could control the dark liquid in the weapon with ease as well. As these two factors were combined, the quality of the Inviolable Saber steadily improved along with the increase of enchantments.

From a Low-Grade Spirit Artifact, it was gradually upgraded to a Top-Grade Spirit Artifact. Then, from a Low-Grade Spell Artifact, its quality slowly improved.

It only took Lu Ye some time to complete his work. As he examined the Inviolable Saber on his lap, he realised nothing had changed in its appearance. The blade was still black and simple.

However, the Inviolable Saber had transformed into an entirely different thing compared with the previous one.

Although the Inviolable Saber was originally a Spell Artifact, it was of Low Grade with 72 enchantments.

After all, Lu Ye was a Cloud River Realm Master when the Inviolable Saber was last upgraded. A Cloud River Realm Master wouldn’t need a weapon of superb quality.

Throughout the entire Real Lake Realm, he didn’t get the Inviolable Saber upgraded. Strictly speaking, the weapon was no longer suitable for his cultivation.

Now, there were 180 enchantments within the Inviolable Saber. The weapon that had accompanied Lu Ye to many places had finally become a Top-Grade Spell Artifact.

If its quality improved further, it would become a Spirit Treasure. In fact, Lu Ye could already do that now. After all, it wouldn’t take him much effort to achieve that. He just had to add more Glyphs to the weapon.

He didn’t do that because he needed some time to familiarise himself with the transformed weapon.

The upgrade would be too tremendous if the weapon became a Spirit Treasure from a Low-Grade Spell Artifact. It would affect how he used his power. The quality of the Inviolable Saber was just right for him now.

Also, the Inviolable Saber’s composition was a problem as well. The current Inviolable Saber was recast by Master Yu. When she upgraded the weapon, she added some materials so that it would be strong enough to bear more enchantments and become a Spell Artifact.

If Lu Ye forcibly turned the Inviolable Saber into a Spirit Treasure, it might not be able to bear a higher number of enchantments. He wouldn’t want the Inviolable Saber to be destroyed during an intense battle.

It wouldn’t be difficult to solve the problem. He just had to recast the Inviolable Saber and drop some precious materials so that it would become sturdier.

He already could do that on his own, so it wouldn’t be too late for him to deal with the problem when there was a chance in the future.

He picked up the Inviolable Saber and infused his Spiritual Power into it. Instantly, he could feel how different the weapon was.

He had to use three times more Spiritual Power to use the weapon. That was because there were more enchantments within the weapon now, and it required Spiritual Power to activate those enchantments. This would undoubtedly make it easier for him to use his power.

On the dark blade, an almost imperceptible aura was undulating. It was Sharp Edge.

This time, Lu Ye had added quite a number of Sharp Edge enchantments to the weapon. Once it was activated, the weapon would become sharper.

He was pleased while looking at the Inviolable Saber. It seemed that the weapon had to be destroyed before it could be rebuilt into something even greater.

There was no doubt all the items in the Hall of Battle Points were reasonably priced. It was totally worth it to spend 500,000 battle points. If Lu Ye had known the Soul Cutting Saber was so useful, he wouldn’t have hesitated even if it cost a million battle points.
