When Lu Ye was ten kilometres away from the insectoids, they turned around and streamed towards him.

Along the way, he had never tried to conceal his Divine Ocean Realm aura and magnificent fluctuations of Spiritual Power. Insectoids were sensitive to the fluctuations of Spiritual Power, so they were instantly attracted to him.

Yi Yi emerged from Amber’s body and stayed by Lu Ye’s side. She took the initiative to cast a series of spells at the insectoids, whereas Lu Ye remained at the ready. He only wielded his saber when he was close enough to the insectoids.

Sharp Saber Lights slashed at the insectoids like crescent Moons. Wherever they went, all the insectoids were cut in half. The incisions were smooth as their carcasses and blood fell from the sky.

Amber growled while standing on Lu Ye’s shoulder. Every roar carried a special power that could cause the insectoids to become sluggish and stiff.

Back then when Amber was in the Spirit Creek Realm, it already showcased a power that could suppress Divine Souls. Its growls had some impact on the enemy’s mind.

Now, the tiger was a Master-class Spirit Beast, which was equivalent to a Human cultivator in the Real Lake Realm. Its growls were naturally more powerful now.

The tiger’s roars were useless against a Divine Ocean Realm Master like Liu Yuemei, but they were effective against insectoids with low sentience.

Lu Ye, Yi Yi, and Amber joined forces again for the first time in three years. Wherever they went, the carcasses of insectoids fell like rain.

They had only moved across several kilometres, but countless insectoids had lost their lives during the battle. Lu Ye led Yi Yi to clash with the dense insectoids, slaughtering them.

A figure was seated on the wall of Surging Waves Lake Pass. His aura was so weak that it was like a candlelight that might go out at any moment. He was Chen Xiao, who was asked to come to Surging Waves Lake Pass to help them out.

He was still high-spirited two hours ago, but now, his breathing had become weak.

He was badly injured. The left part of his body was mostly gone. Organs could be seen squirming in his chest and stomach. The uneven wound suggested that he had been bitten by something.

Considering his severe injury, there was no doubt he was dying. He was holding on so that he could report the situation to Heavenly Gate Canyon and ask them to send a stronger Divine Ocean Realm Master to this place.

However, the reply he had received sent him into despair. Those from Heavenly Gate Canyon told him to hold on for another two hours because it would take the Divine Ocean Realm Master some time to arrive.

[Two hours…] Chen Xiao smiled helplessly. Considering his situation, he might die at any moment, so how was he able to persevere for another two hours?

While communicating with his higher-up, Chen Xiao suddenly lifted his head. His turbid eyes brightened slightly. Since he had lost too much blood, his lips were as pale as a white sheet. “What’s that sound?”

Beside him, a Medical Cultivator was madly activating her Spiritual Power to treat his injury. Despite her slender figure, she was trying to squeeze all of the Spiritual Power out of herself, but she still was unable to heal Chen Xiao’s injury. Tears streamed down her cheeks. When she heard Chen Xiao’s question, she said, “You have to hold on, Sir!”

As for sounds, all she could hear were the flapping of the insectoids’ wings and the squirming of their mouths.

Chen Xiao shook his head. “There’s a sound…” His eyes became brighter. “It’s a tiger’s roar! Someone is coming.”

A Spirit Beast wouldn’t come to this place for no reason. That was indeed a tiger’s roar. In other words, the person was supposed to be a Beastmaster.

It was a wonder how many people were coming and how powerful they were.

“Quick! Inform the person that there are great insectoids among the enemies!”

Great insectoids didn’t refer to their size but their power. Only insectoids whose power was equivalent to the Seventh-Order Divine Ocean Realm or above would be called great insectoids.

This was the categorisation that the cultivators of Jiu Zhou had tacitly agreed on, having spent the past two years dealing with the insectoid plague.

There were some great insectoids among the insectoids which were attacking Surging Waves Lake Pass. Chen Xiu suffered a setback when his Spiritual Power Shield was shattered during the intense battle, and half of his body was bitten off. If not for the fact that the Pass was nearby and many cultivators were ready to rescue him, he would’ve lost his life right there and then.

Under normal circumstances, a Human cultivator could deal with several insectoids if both parties were equally powerful. That was because Human cultivators had all sorts of moves, whereas insectoids behaved instinctively. Regardless of how weak a cultivator’s heritage was, he could deal with two to three insectoids at the same time.

The problem was that there were quite some great insectoids among the enemies this time. Besides those whose power was equivalent to the Seventh-Order Divine Ocean Realm, there were also those in the Eighth Order.

Since Chen Xiao had suffered a setback, he wouldn’t want the same to happen to the person coming to help them out.

The Medical Cultivator beside him quickly activated her Spiritual Power and shouted out, “Watch out! There are many great insectoids among them!”

Although she had shouted at the top of her lungs, her voice was still drowned out by the flapping of the insectoids’ wings. It was a wonder if the person could hear her.

Lu Ye could hear her, but there was no turning back. He was now surrounded by countless insectoids. There were especially more than ten insectoids with ferocious auras which mounted great pressure on him.

They were supposedly canine insectoids. At first glance, they looked just like dogs with short limbs and tails. However, they were covered in thick shells, which gave them incredible protection. Lu Ye had tried to strike them with Saber Lights. Usually, his attacks could easily destroy ordinary insectoids, but to these canine insectoids, his attacks were no different from scratching their itches.

Their mouths looked like those of crocodiles with sharp teeth. One would end up in a horrible state if he was bitten by them.

Their heads were of a semi-circular shape. Even though they were hidden among many insectoids while streaming towards Lu Ye, he could still detect their presence as their auras were powerful and savage.

There were too many of them, so even Lu Ye didn’t dare to deal with them head-on. He could only shoot upwards, hoping to find a chance to achieve a breakthrough.

The canine insectoids relentlessly ran after Lu Ye. They could never run faster than Lu Ye. Under normal circumstances, he could easily get rid of them as canine insectoids were not known for their speed. Nevertheless, since he was surrounded by insectoids, he couldn’t fly at full speed. Whichever direction he went, countless insectoids would get in his way.

As he wielded the Inviolable Saber, he managed to force his way through the insectoids, but those canine insectoids were getting closer to him. Those at the head opened their mouths wide, ready to bite him.

Seeing that an exchange of blows was inevitable, Lu Ye madly activated his Soul Power. With him as the centre, an invisible force spread and turned into a huge impact.

Many insectoids stiffened at once as if they had been struck by lightning. Not even the canine insectoids were spared the fate.

Using Soul Power to deal with insectoids was the most effective way because insectoids had low sentience, which meant that their Soul Powers were weak. As such, Divine Ocean Realm Masters could easily suppress them using their Soul Powers.

Nevertheless, they couldn’t use such moves for a prolonged period. Even Divine Ocean Realm Masters didn’t have infinite Soul Power, and it couldn’t be conveniently replenished like Spiritual Power. Once their Soul Power was exhausted, they would become listless.

While many of these insectoids were stiff, Lu Ye wielded the Inviolable Saber and shouted, “Yi Yi!”

Even though they hadn’t met for a few years, they could still read each other’s minds. Yi Yi hurriedly snuck into Amber’s body.

The next moment, the space around Lu Ye turned dim. A Moon rose into the sky, its light shining on the ground. Countless Saber Lights descended from the sky along with the Moonlight.

It was the second move of the Tyrant Blade Technique, Lone Moon! This move could be aptly used when he was besieged.

Whooshes were heard as a radius of 90 metres around Lu Ye became a vacuum area. Innumerable insectoids lost their lives upon impact.

Only those canine insectoids were still alive and kicking. They were powerful enough, and their shells provided amazing protection. The Saber Lights of Lone Moon only left some marks on their shells but couldn’t harm their foundations.

But given the huge impact, these canine insectoids still fell from the sky.

They soon stabilised themselves and pounced on Lu Ye again. However, after Lu Ye used Lone Moon, he quickly turned around and flew towards the Pass.

Whenever some insectoids got in their way, Lu Ye would wield his saber and Amber would growl. The two of them could work perfectly well together.

In Surging Waves Lake Pass, many cultivators were looking in the direction the noise was coming from, feeling nervous.

With Chen Xiao as the precedent, all of them were worried about that person, wondering if he could reach them safely.

The insectoids started squirming as if some salt had been dropped into a pot of boiling oil. Following that, Saber Lights flickered from the spot where they squirmed violently, after which a figure covered in a Spiritual Light emerged.

Chen Xiao quickly ordered, “Open up the Ward and let him in.”

Even without his order, the cultivators managing the Grand Defensive Ward were ready to activate their Control Gems. A gap opened up in the direction the person was coming over.

After Lu Ye entered the Pass, the gap was shut. The insectoids behind him were blocked out of the Ward, after which they were inundated by a storm of attacks.

Upon entering Surging Waves Lake Pass, Lu Ye expanded and retracted his Divine Ego. He instantly found out about the situation here, which wasn’t so optimistic.

The situation here was significantly worse than that at Dark Moon Forest Pass. Many cultivators were either killed or injured. Some places on the walls were covered in the insectoids’ carcasses. It was apparent that they had broken through the defence line several times, but they were warded off by the cultivators here.

In comparison, the defences at Dark Moon Forest Pass were steady. At the very least, their defence line hadn’t been broken through by the insectoids so far.

Two reasons caused this outcome. The insectoids here were indeed more powerful, and no mighty cultivator was in charge of this place.

Dark Moon Forest Pass had Li Taibai and Lin Yue, both Divine Ocean Realm Masters. They took turns to slaughter the enemies, thus tremendously reducing the pressure on the Pass.

On the other hand, Surging Waves Lake Pass didn’t have such an advantage. Lu Ye detected the aura of a Divine Ocean Realm Master, though.

He approached Chen Xiao and saw how badly injured the latter was. He cupped his fists to salute him. “Greetings, Senior Brother. I’m Lu Ye from the Ministry of Laws.”

Chen Xiao looked behind Lu Ye, seemingly hoping to see more reinforcements.

Knowing what was on his mind, Lu Ye said, “I’m the only one here. I was passing by this place when I noticed an anomaly, so I came to look into the matter.”

“That’s thoughtful of you, Junior Brother Lu.” Chen Xiao sighed. “It must’ve taken you a lot of effort to even reach here. Didn’t you come across any great insectoid?”

Lu Ye was only a Second-Order Divine Ocean Realm Master, so he was far weaker than Chen Xiao. If he had bumped into some great insectoids, he would’ve lost his life.
