Unlike how tough it had been for Surging Waves Lake Pass, Dark Moon Forest Pass was undoubtedly in a much better situation.

The insectoids streaming out of the chasm had been split into two. One group headed North to Dark Moon Forest Pass, and the other group went South to Surging Waves Lake Pass. Although a lot of insectoids had gone to the North, and some were in the Divine Ocean Realm, there were only two great insectoids. Coupled with the fact that Li Taibai and Lin Yue, both Divine Ocean Realm Masters, were in charge of Dark Moon Forest Pass, the situation had been under control since the beginning.

After Lin Yue and Li Taibai joined forces to kill the two great insectoids, the remaining insectoids no longer posed a threat to them.

Now, the cultivators of Dark Moon Forest Pass had to steadily weaken the insectoids so that they could destroy the enemies while also ensuring their own safety.

Things had come to a point where Lin Yue could be at ease. Beside her, a Medical Cultivator was treating her injury.

Her injury was neither light nor serious. She was wounded when tackling the two great insectoids. Since she was a Divine Ocean Realm Master, this kind of injury wouldn’t affect the use of her power.

She turned to look at Lu Ye. “Thanks for your hard work, Junior Brother. You’ve done a great job. I’ll inform those from Thousand Demon City about your contributions.”

She was satisfied with Li Taibai’s performance in dealing with the insectoid attack this time. If not for his help, they wouldn’t have solved the crisis easily. Without him, the defence line would’ve been broken through, and many of them would’ve been injured or killed.

When dealing with the two great insectoids, Lin Yue didn’t have to worry about anything else with the help of Li Taibai’s flying swords. Whenever she needed help, the wandering Sword Lights would appear and tackle the enemies for her. He had showcased an incredible power.

She couldn’t help but think that Li Taibai was indeed able to kill much stronger enemies. Considering his performance, no other Second-Order Divine Ocean Realm Masters were comparable to him. If someone else had come to help, she would’ve been glad that the person never held her back. The person wouldn’t have been of great help like Li Taibai.

She used to think that Li Taibai was someone who could rival Lu Ye of the Grand Sky Coalition. Now, it seemed that she had underestimated him.

It was true that Lu Ye had stirred up a storm on both Spirit Creek Battlefield and Cloud River Battlefield, drawing the attention of the major Sects of Thousand Demon Ridge to him.

However, he never did anything incredible after he ascended to the Real Lake Realm. Especially in the past few years, there had never been any news about him.

Lu Ye showed amazing potential when he was younger, but as he grew older, he faded from the public eye. Such a thing happened frequently. It was apparent that he had no more potential left.

Lu Ye was probably that kind of person. When he was still weak, he showcased a staggering aptitude and potential. He was able to give the major Sects of Thousand Demon Ridge a headache despite being on his own. But as his cultivation improved, he became an ordinary cultivator.

In comparison, a rising Star at a later stage like Li Taibai was worth paying attention to.

He didn’t kick up a storm when he was in the Spirit Creek Realm and Cloud River Realm. No one knew who he was. But he suddenly showed incredible potential when he was in the Real Lake Realm and Divine Ocean Realm. Only someone like him could go far on his cultivation journey and achieve what others couldn’t.

It was said that decades ago, Feng Wujiang of the Crimson Blood Sect was the same kind of person. He was only an ordinary cultivator when he was weak, but there came a period when he suddenly rose to prominence. He soon reached a height that most cultivators could never achieve in their lifetimes.

People like them would only achieve great things later in life.

Naturally, Li Taibai was still young, so it couldn’t be considered that he only achieved success when he was older. But it was true that he only became famous after he ascended to the Real Lake Realm.

Lin Yue was deep in her wild thoughts. In her opinion, Lu Ye didn’t even have a right to be Li Taibai’s servant. In the past one hundred years, only Feng Wujiang was comparable to him.

“Don’t mention it, Senior Sister. It’s my duty,” replied the Soul Clone. He looked ahead as though observing the insectoids, but in fact, he was paying attention to what was going on with the main body.

He had to help the main body out.

Eight great insectoids were relentlessly running after the main body, who was exhausted following the battle. Although he was hurriedly replenishing his power, he couldn’t fully recover in a short time.

If he wanted to destroy the enemies, he had to join forces with his Soul Clone. That was why he was luring the eight great insectoids to this place.

Lu Ye had no idea when the reinforcement from the Grand Sky Coalition would arrive. In that situation, he could only make such a decision. As for whether those cultivators could protect Surging Waves Lake Pass after he was gone, it wasn’t up to him to determine. He hoped that those cultivators could hold on.

Although no one could lend him a helping hand for now, there was a natural helper in a radius of a thousand kilometres around him. That person was none other than his Soul Clone.

As long as they could join forces, he had the confidence to kill half of the eight insectoids, though it would be difficult to destroy all of them. As for the remaining ones, they would no longer pose a huge threat as long as they didn’t have assistance from a lot of insectoids.

The distance between them was shortening fast as the main body had led the eight canine insectoids to move past the borderline between the two Passes.

Without hesitation, the Soul Clone said, “I’ll go and kill more insectoids, Senior Sister.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he covered himself in a Sword Light and shot into the swarms of insectoids. In an instant, the Sword Qi slaughtered lots of enemies. Since he and Lin Yue had killed most of the Divine Ocean Realm insectoids, the other insectoids could no longer pose a threat to him even though there were still a lot of them.

Certainly, he couldn’t stay among the insectoids for a long time. He didn’t have the Dragon Throne, after all. It would be troublesome if he was stuck between the insectoids.

The main body had the guts to be tangled up with the insectoids on his own because he had the Dragon Throne’s protection.

Li Taibai had disappeared among the insectoids before Lin Yue could say anything. She put on a helpless smile. Anyway, she was glad that Li Taibai was willing to do more to help. Although it hadn’t been long since they became colleagues, she was pleased with him. He wasn’t as reckless as an average young person, nor was he arrogant like other geniuses. He would perfectly execute all of her orders, and he was friendly to other soldiers in the Pass.

It was easy to get along with someone like him. It had only been a few months since Li Taibai joined the Pass, but he had built a solid reputation, and the soldiers sincerely supported him.

When Lin Yue felt the violent fluctuations of Spiritual Power coming from among the insectoids, she knew it was Li Taibai slaughtering the enemies. But soon, she realised something was off because the noise was becoming smaller until it disappeared altogether. She extended her Divine Ego but couldn’t detect Li Taibai’s aura.

Flustered, she quickly looked into her Battlefield Imprint. Upon confirming that Li Taibai’s Brand was still around, she hurriedly sent him a message. ‘Where are you, Junior Brother Taibai?’

She was puzzled as to why the other party never replied to her.

Presently, the Soul Clone was in a hurry to meet up with the main body. When he arrived at the chasm where the insectoids had crawled out from, he slowed down and descended into the chasm.

He found somewhere to hide before concealing his presence and curbing his aura. Then, he waited patiently.

Meanwhile, the main body was leading the eight great insectoids to go around in circles within a radius of a hundred kilometres around this area. He was doing this because he was waiting for the Soul Clone to be ready and also stalling for time to replenish his power.

When the Soul Clone was ready, Lu Ye suddenly descended towards the chasm.

The eight great insectoids relentlessly followed him.

He was deliberately flying at a lower altitude. When he was only 90 metres above the ground, he flew past the chasm. The unsuspecting canine insectoids followed him.

When a murderous intent surged, Sword Lights flickered.

Icy Sword Lights shot out from the charm, forming a river of Sword Lights. The river split into three Sword Dragons as they spiralled towards the three canine insectoids at the back in the blink of an eye.

Although canine insectoids were more intelligent than average insectoids, their intelligence was limited. They never expected that danger was hidden beneath them. It was too late when they realised what was going on.

Two Sword Dragons easily drilled into the canine insectoids’ stomachs. The Sword Lights penetrated their bodies and instantly killed them.

The backs of insectoids were usually covered in skeletal shells, but they were not without a weakness. Their bellies were not protected by shells, and canine insectoids had that weakness as well.

When Lu Ye was tangled up in a fight with them in front of the Pass a while ago, he made use of their weakness and killed two of them.

However, since canine insectoids were dexterous, it was hard to target their weakness most of the time.

Li Taibai had seized the best timing to launch a sneak attack. Coupled with the fact that a Sword Cultivator could flare up in an instant, he easily killed two canine insectoids.

The third one had escaped from death’s door, though. It wasn’t that the Soul Clone couldn’t control his swords well. It was just that the canine insectoid had reacted too quickly. The moment it realised something was off, it changed directions. That was why the Sword Dragon missed its target.

The three Sword Dragons dispersed and turned into countless Sword Lights before charging towards the remaining canine insectoids from behind. These canine insectoids were closely connected, but they were forced to disperse now.

The moment the Soul Clone made a move, the main body abruptly turned around as a pair of red wings expanded from his back. With the blessing of Windwalk, his speed was instantly increased to its limit. He reached the nearest canine insectoid in the blink of an eye and unsheathed the Inviolable Saber before jabbing it right into its hideous mouth.

The canine insectoid was busy evading the Sword Lights, so it didn’t expect that the Human who was running for his life would flare up all of a sudden.

If two different cultivators collaborated, regardless of how close they were, they couldn’t join forces seamlessly. Nevertheless, the main body and the Soul Clone didn’t face such a problem.

After all, be it Lu Ye or Li Taibai, they were the same person.

When the Inviolable Saber struck, the canine insectoid couldn’t avoid it at all. The weapon penetrated its mouth and damaged its organs.

When Burster was activated, Lu Ye twisted his weapon, causing the canine insectoid to break apart.

He then retracted his saber and brought it down. Upon impact, the canine insectoid fell from the sky. In mid-air, its blood and broken organs scattered everywhere as its vitality was leaving its body fast.

In just several breaths of time, three out of eight canine insectoids were killed, so only five were left. It was the advantage of launching a sneak attack. If it had been a normal exchange of blows, they couldn’t have destroyed so many enemies in a short time.

Countless Sword Lights were chasing after the canine insectoids, forcing them to run for their lives. Although the Sword Lights were lethal, they couldn’t reach the enemies for now.

Meanwhile, the main body had pounced on another canine insectoid with his saber, forcing it to react in a hurry and get into an intense battle with him.
