Covered in blood light, Lu Ye dexterously moved around and dodged the spells as he quickly shortened the distance between them. While charging forward, he relentlessly cast his Saber Lights, which looked like crescent Moons as they cut through the Void and came at the opponent from different angles.

Liu Yuemei gritted her teeth and madly activated her Spiritual Power to use her abstruse spells. While trying to stop Lu Ye from advancing, she also had to ward off the Saber Lights. She had gone all out as well.

This was something she didn’t expect before the battle started. There was a huge gap between their powers, so she initially thought it would only take her slightly more effort to destroy Lu Ye even though he was known for being able to kill stronger opponents. However, not long after the battle started, she was forced to fully activate her power.

The heritage Lu Ye had showcased forced her to regard the man as an opponent in the same Minor Realm.

Both of them were attacking and defending themselves at the same time, but one of them was running away while the other was relentlessly coming after her. Spells and Saber Lights clashed in the space between them, making it an interesting battle.

Liu Yuemei knew that she was at a disadvantage in such an environment because she was confined to the space within the Deathmatch Platform.

Although she had more than enough space to move around and use her skills, it was still limited. The place wasn’t as expansive as the outside world.

Usually, when she dealt with an opponent who was five Minor Realms below her, she could launch Soul Attacks to stop and harass him. This alone might allow her to defeat the other party and win the battle.

However, she couldn’t be distracted at this point. Although she had fully activated her power, the distance between them was still shortening fast. Lu Ye could move so quickly that she couldn’t lock onto his aura using her Divine Ego.

During the pursuit, Lu Ye looked like an enraged beast who was engulfed in a fiery aura. Although she was significantly more powerful, she was still shocked by his determination to destroy everything.

She could only bet that Lu Ye couldn’t sustain his current state for long. This was the shortcoming of any move that could suddenly boost a cultivator’s power. Although they could quickly use a much stronger power, it couldn’t be sustained indefinitely.

A figure suddenly appeared before Liu Yuemei’s eyes as Lu Ye had caught up with her.

It had only been five breaths of time since they entered the Deathmatch Platform.

As a Spell Cultivator in the Seventh-Order Divine Ocean Realm, she had failed to stop a Combat Cultivator in the Second Order from getting close to her.

Although she had already expected it, she was still surprised by Lu Ye’s speed. As Lu Ye lifted his saber, she had no intention of dodging the attack. Given the short distance between them, she might not be able to avoid the attack. Even if she could, she would appear to be weak, and a series of relentless attacks would ensue.

As such, she immediately fished out an item and lifted her hand. As a roar of thunder was heard, lightning wandered around her fingers and radiated a bright glow.

When the Inviolable Saber struck, a layer of light suddenly engulfed Liu Yuemei. She had activated a protective Spirit Treasure.

Every Spell Cultivator was equipped with this kind of protection. Since their bodies were weaker than cultivators of other factions, they had to rely on their spells and external items to protect themselves.

Someone like Liu Yuemei would naturally use a Spirit Treasure.

Lu Ye’s right arm suddenly bulged as his vitality around there became much thicker than other parts of his body. He also brought down the Inviolable Saber at the same time.

Although it seemed like one attack, he had struck seven to eight times. It was a Combo!

In this situation, a simple technique like this was the most useful. It was even more effective than using the Tyrant Blade Technique.

When he brought down his saber, he was faced with a flash of lightning.

Since he had suffered a similar setback earlier, he naturally knew how powerful the lightning spell was. But considering the short distance between them, he couldn’t dodge the attack. When he wielded the Inviolable Saber, several layers of Protection Glyphs appeared before his chest.

When a crack was heard, Liu Yuemei’s expression changed because a dent had formed in the protective light barrier around her, and it also became dim at once.

Lu Ye’s saber was hefty and sharp. That was what Liu Yuemei felt the moment the saber struck. It was imaginable that if she hadn’t activated a protective Spirit Treasure in time, she would’ve been cut into half following the attack.

Although she was attacked by a saber, she felt as if a sharp mountain had landed on her. This was a conflicted feeling.

As soon as the two of them came into contact, they were sent flying backwards. Even though Liu Yuemei’s protective Spirit Treasure had warded off the violent attack, the impact it carried couldn’t be resolved. On the other hand, Lu Ye was struck by the lightning, so the layers of Protection Glyphs he had built in a hurry were shattered. It went to show how horrifying the attack was.

The attack wasn’t fully resolved. While he was in mid-air, the lightning wandered around his body which was covered in blood light, causing his hair to stand on end.

He lowered his figure and drifted backwards for more than 30 metres before he managed to stabilise himself. Without stopping, he pounced on Liu Yuemei again, leaving behind an air blast.

At the same time, a lot of spells came right at Liu Yuemei. She was flabbergasted, not knowing where the spells were coming from. She could hardly stabilise herself as the huge impact caused the vitality in her chest to undulate. She could only use the protective Spirit Treasure.

All the spells were warded off by the Spirit Treasure, causing no harm to her. Even the layer of light around her didn’t turn dim.

She finally gained a footing and looked around to see a petite young woman with an airy aura casting spells at her from the corner of the Deathmatch Platform.

[Who is she? When did she even appear?]

Liu Yuemei couldn’t be blamed for failing to notice her presence. Ever since she entered the Deathmatch Platform, she had been fully focused on Lu Ye. She didn’t expect to see one more person in the space of the Deathmatch Platform.

This shouldn’t have happened. Deathmatch Platform was an Exotic Treasure where only the user and the targeted one would be dragged into this space. There was no way someone else could enter the space because it was a battlefield created by the mysterious Heavens.

No one in Jiu Zhou was more powerful than the Heavens.

She could tell that the young woman was weak as the latter was only in the Sixth-Order or Seventh-Order Real Lake Realm. Under normal circumstances, she could easily kill such an opponent, and the other party’s attacks couldn’t harm her at all.

But presently, her opponent was Lu Ye. The sudden appearance of one more person was giving her a headache.

It was only reasonable that Yi Yi showed up in the Deathmatch Platform as well. After Lu Ye activated Beast Form and merged with Amber, Yi Yi was separated from the tiger. She was clever enough to immediately hide somewhere and conceal herself. She knew that she was too weak to play any role in such a battle, so she decided to only make a move at the most critical moment to harass Liu Yuemei.

The outcome was great. Even though her spells couldn’t harm Liu Yuemei at all, she could distract her and lend Lu Ye a helping hand.

As a result, Lu Ye managed to get closer to Liu Yuemei by 30 metres in an instant.

The same thing happened again as they clashed using spells and Saber Lights. While Lu Ye charged forward, Liu Yuemei flew backwards quickly. Still, the distance between them was shortening faster than the previous time.

Although it hadn’t been long since the battle started, Lu Ye had gotten used to his surge of power and speed. He was also adapting himself to the pace of Liu Yuemei’s attacks.

This was fatal to a Spell Cultivator.

While he was running after his opponent, Yi Yi wasn’t staying idle. She continued to cast her spells at Liu Yuemei from a distance. She knew she couldn’t harm her, but she could distract her and waste a bit of her energy.

When the two of them were close enough, Lu Ye brought down his saber again. The light barrier around Liu Yuemei turned even dimmer. Although it was a Spirit Treasure, it was merely an item with a limit. Lu Ye’s attacks were horrifying. Even though the Spirit Treasure could fend off his attacks several times, it couldn’t do so indefinitely.

The two of them were sent flying away again.

Liu Yuemei appeared slightly flustered. She was no longer calm and collected. Suddenly, it dawned on her that if this went on, she would be in a perilous situation.

The Spirit Treasure couldn’t hold on any longer. Perhaps it would be shattered by one or two more attacks. Once that happened, she couldn’t possibly bear Lu Ye’s attacks when the distance between them shortened again.

Although she had other Spirit Treasures to use, they couldn’t endlessly ward off Lu Ye’s attacks. No average Combat Cultivator in the Second-Order Divine Ocean Realm could use a power as horrifying as that.

As such, she had to break free from this predicament and stop the other party from using his fortes.

She felt dejected deep within. It never crossed her mind that she would one day be pushed over the edge by a Combat Cultivator who was five Minor Realms below her.

Both of them were cultivators, so why was he so spectacularly talented?

Before the battle started, she realised that she couldn’t let Lu Ye continue to grow his power. Otherwise, he would become powerful enough to pose a threat to her one day. Given how quickly he could increase his power, it wouldn’t be long before that happened.

After the battle started, she realised the man was already able to pose a threat to her.

If she were in the outside world, she would’ve run away. Even if the risk was minimal, she had to prioritise her safety. However, they were within the sealed space of the Deathmatch Platform. Her hope was crushed as the rule stated that only one of them would live.

In that case, she had to make sure she would be the survivor.

Her attacks suddenly weakened, which made it easier for Lu Ye to march forward.

He instinctively felt it was a trick because it had only been 30 breaths of time since the battle started. As a Seventh-Order Divine Ocean Realm Master, Liu Yuemei wouldn’t be exhausted so soon.

The changes showed that she had deliberately pretended to be weak.

He was certain Liu Yuemei was up to no good, but he couldn’t figure out what she was trying to achieve.

He had no time to think about it. During a life-and-death fight, being hesitant was dangerous. It was energy-consuming for him to use two trump cards at the same time. As such, he had to end the battle quickly. He would be at a disadvantage if the battle dragged on.
