It wasn’t until Lu Ye was dozens of kilometres above the ground did he regain control of his body.

This altitude was the limit where he could fly in the sky. Regardless of how hard he tried, he couldn’t go higher. It was as though he was chained to this altitude by an invisible restrictive power.

Still, Lu Ye let himself continue to descend, only activating his Spiritual Power to protect himself.

Although he could fly at this altitude, it would consume a lot of his energy and Spiritual Power. He had to find an altitude where he could fly comfortably.

Therefore, when a cultivator travelled around the world, he wouldn’t fly as high as he could, for that would only waste his energy.

It was especially true that a cultivator wouldn’t fly higher than he should when he was weak, for he might come across stronger cultivators.

Lu Ye finally stabilised himself when he was 30 kilometres above the ground. This altitude was comfortable for him. It was also the altitude that Divine Ocean Realm Masters would choose when they wandered around.

When he looked down at the sight beneath him, he felt his emotions undulating. [I’m back, Jiu Zhou!]

It had been two years since he went missing. He was a Seventh-Order Real Lake Realm Master when he left, but he was a Divine Ocean Realm Master when he returned. His power had increased tremendously.

Certainly, if he had been in Jiu Zhou, his cultivation would’ve improved more quickly because he could use Amulets.

But when it came to cultivating one’s power, a rapid increase was useless. He had been toiling away in Blood Refinement Boundary for the past two years. Although the improvement in his cultivation couldn’t be considered quick, his foundation in every Minor Realm was solid. In the months following his ascension to the Divine Ocean Realm, he received training from dozens of Seniors. The insights he had acquired were more important than a mere increase in power.

He felt it was a shame that Dao Thirteen couldn’t come back with him. He had no intention of ditching him, but he didn’t have any control over a matter like teleportation. It was up to the Heavens. There was nothing Lu Ye could do since the Heavens refused to send Dao Thirteen back.

Anyway, he was certain he would return to Blood Refinement Boundary. He meant it when he said that to Feng Wujiang before his departure.

Following the Blood Race’s siege against Crimson Blood Holy Land, a gap had appeared in the defence line made up of the surrounding islands. Moreover, the Holy Land suffered immense losses this time. If the Blood Race struck again, the Humans might not be able to save the Holy Land once more.

He had to come up with a way to return to Blood Refinement Boundary and lend Feng Wujiang a helping hand before the Blood Race struck again.

It would be wonderful if he could bring some helpers with him. Naturally, it wasn’t easy to achieve that. However, since the Heavens had sent him to Blood Refinement Boundary once, it could naturally do it again.

He didn’t think the Heavens would turn a blind eye to the plight of Crimson Blood Holy Land. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have sent him there. It was apparent that the Heavens wanted to make use of his capabilities to help the Holy Land fend off the Blood Race soldiers, and he had achieved that with difficulty. Be it the Blood Race Dao Troopers or the United as One Ward Nexuses, they were immensely useful in the war.

Anyway, he couldn’t stay in Crimson Blood Holy Land and wait idly. He had to increase his power quickly. Therefore, he had to return to Jiu Zhou and improve his cultivation before the Blood Race members came to attack again. He had to find a way to return to Blood Refinement Boundary and bring some reliable helpers with him.

Since he still had some time, he could devise his plan slowly. He decided to push these matters aside for now. As he was back in Jiu Zhou, he had to find out his location first.

He quickly fished out the ten-point map and was shocked to discover he was in Desolate Plain. What was more, he was near the entrance of the Sword and Tool Sect, which was a coincidence.

He didn’t have to look for the Sword and Tool Sect, for it was gone. The foundation had been destroyed, which caused the Hidden Realm to fall apart.

Just as he was considering how he could return to Grand Sky City, he felt a warmth coming from his Battlefield Imprint.

It had been two years since he felt a reaction from his Battlefield Imprint, so he quickly sank his soul into it.

Name: Lu Yi Ye

Identity: The disciple of the Crimson Blood Sect; the captain of the Law Enforcement Hall of the Ministry of Laws

Cultivation: First-Order Divine Ocean Realm

Location: Desolate Plain

Contribution points: 972,812

Battle points: 1 million

A lot of information in his Battlefield Imprint had changed. First, his identity.

He remembered being the team leader of Team D9 of the Law Enforcement Hall, which came behind his identity as the disciple of the Crimson Blood Sect. But now, he was merely a captain of the Law Enforcement Hall.

In other words, he was stripped of his position as the team leader.

After giving it some thought, he realised it wasn’t so surprising. It had been two years since he went missing, so someone had to lead Team D9. They wouldn’t keep waiting for him, so it was only reasonable that there was a new team leader.

Among the members of Team D9, Xiao Xinghe was the strongest. Lu Ye reckoned Xiao Xinghe had probably replaced him as the team leader.

His Contribution points didn’t change much. When he was carrying out a task back then, he returned to his Sect and sold a lot of resources to the Vault of Providence, which earned him nearly a million Contribution points. He didn’t use the points after that. To be accurate, he didn’t have the chance to use them.

His battle points had increased a lot. He couldn’t remember the exact figure of how many battle points he had previously, but he had a rough idea. It was around 200,000 points. But now, he had a million battle points, which was a new record.

A million battle points surely didn’t come from nowhere. It was the reward the Heavens had granted him for his trip to Blood Refinement Boundary. Although it looked like a lot, it really wasn’t when he made some calculations. After all, it took him two years to acquire those battle points.

Moreover, in the war against the Blood Race, his Blood Race Dao Troopers and United as One Ward Nexuses played important roles. Also, he had killed many Blood Race members. Many of them were in the Divine Ocean Realm.

Certainly, the Heavens couldn’t make a fair judgement because it knew nothing about what had happened during the war. It was for this reason that he was given a certain amount of battle points and it was rounded up to a million.

Anyway, he was satisfied with it. It was better than having no reward at all, and it was a lot of battle points.

While he was looking into his Battlefield Imprint, it vibrated slightly. Someone had sent him a message this time.

He had just returned to Jiu Zhou when a person sent him a message. Needless to say, it must be Yi Yi.

Only Yi Yi could find out his return so soon. It wasn’t that he and Yi Yi were spiritually connected. It was just that there was a Bonding Pact between Amber and him. They were also connected by Life Energy Art and Beast Pact Art. As Lu Ye’s Chosen Beast, Amber would naturally be the first to realise Lu Ye had returned.

Also, Amber and Yi Yi were inseparable. Since Amber was already aware of it, Yi Yi would also know.

Lu Ye looked at the message and discovered it was indeed from Yi Yi.

‘You’re back, Lu Ye? Where are you?’

Lu Ye replied to her while descending, ‘In Thousand Demon Ridge’s territory.’

‘Why are you there? Where have you been in the past two years?’ Although she knew Lu Ye was alive since his Brand was around, she was still worried. After all, he had gone missing for two years, and no one could contact him through his Brand.

‘It’s a long story. I’ll tell you in detail later. Is everyone alright?’

‘All of us are fine, but a lot has happened in the past two years. Since you’ve just returned, you have to be careful. Insectoids are everywhere in Jiu Zhou now.’

Lu Ye had yet to reply to her when he saw a lot of insectoids in the form of mosquitos coming over. Furthermore, these mosquitos all looked hideous. Every one of them was as big as a palm.

They were weak individually as their auras showed that they were only in the Spirit Creek Realm, but as they came together, their collective power was equivalent to that of a Divine Ocean Realm Master.

What was more, there were several ten thousand of them.

Lu Ye had never seen insectoids like them, but he knew that insectoids were sensitive to the fluctuations of Spiritual Power. It was apparent that he had caught their attention when he activated his power earlier.

Facing creatures like them who were weak individually but strong when they were together, what a Combat Cultivator could do was limited. It could be said that insectoids like them were a nemesis to a Combat Cultivator in the traditional sense.

Combat Cultivators were good at one-on-one fights. Even if Lu Ye could kill dozens to a hundred insectoids with a single strike, he would find it difficult to launch an attack once he was surrounded by the group of insectoids.

Fortunately, he wasn’t a Combat Cultivator in the traditional sense.

Presently, he had yet to realise the sense of horror that Yi Yi’s message carried. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have attempted to destroy these insectoids.

He lifted a hand and activated his Spiritual Power as the elements of Yin and Yang were intertwined. In the blink of an eye, an oval-shaped thing made from his Spiritual Power appeared above his palm.

It looked like an egg at first glance. Its surface was aflame.

As Lu Ye activated his Spiritual Power, the flaming egg broke, after which a high-pitched caw was heard. A Fire Phoenix whose wings could stretch as wide as 90 metres charged towards the insectoids.

The best way to deal with these insectoids was to use a spell.

When he was still weak in the past, he had to use his foundation to weave the Fire Phoenix Glyph. Now that he was a Divine Ocean Realm Master, it no longer had to be so troublesome.

When the huge Fire Phoenix crashed into the insectoids, Lu Ye instinctively felt these insectoids would be burned to ashes, but what happened next shocked him.

A lot of insectoids were killed. As that happened, the Fire Phoenix was also shrinking. When he looked intently, he realised that those mosquitos were madly absorbing the Fire Phoenix’s power to weaken it before they were killed.

After the Fire Phoenix was destroyed, there were still around 60 per cent of insectoids left.

Just as Lu Ye was ready to launch another attack, he heard buzzes coming from below.

When he looked down, he felt a crawling sensation on his scalp. A large number of insectoids were rising towards him. They were attracted by the fluctuations of Spiritual Power earlier. It was unbelievable how many insectoids there were.

Moreover, while flying towards him, more and more insectoids came together as the group of insectoids grew in size and their collective power was strengthening.

All he could see was a mass of darkness as he could no longer see the land. He immediately decided to give up on making a move. In such a situation, he’d better run for his life.

He chose a direction and turned into a ray of light before dashing forward. The insectoids relentlessly ran after him.

Fortunately, their speed wasn’t fast. After flying for a bit, Lu Ye finally got rid of them.

A moment later, he landed in a secretive place and restricted his aura.
