Every stone platform had an enchantment. The item on the stone platform couldn’t be taken away without breaking the enchantment first.

It was easy to shatter the enchantment, which was to spend the required amount of battle points. In the Hall of Battle Points, no tussle of intelligence or strength was needed. Battle points were a good pass to get anything.

That said, battle points wouldn’t need to be spent if one merely wanted to know the characteristics and uses of the item on the stone platform.

Lu Ye pressed his hand against the enchantment and sank his soul into it. Soon, he discovered that the item was the Soul Cutting Saber.

This item was a Soul Artifact which could be kept in his Divine Ocean. If he was involved in a fight of Divine Souls, he could use it to battle against the opponent.

Before cultivators ascended to the Divine Ocean Realm, they could use all sorts of moves to fight, but it remained a tussle of their physical strengths. All the attacks and spells were activated by their Spiritual Powers.

But when they were Divine Ocean Realm Masters, they could fight using their Divine Souls.

The fights between Divine Ocean Realm Masters were divided into visible and invisible. The battles of their physical moves could be seen with bare eyes, whereas the clashes of Divine Egos were invisible. The latter was especially impactful in the fights between Divine Ocean Realm Masters.

It could be said that the one with a stronger Divine Ego was in an advantageous position in a battle. Naturally, unless there was a huge gap in their powers, it wasn’t easy to destroy the other party’s Divine Ego in a fight.

Lu Ye didn’t need to know all that in the past because he hadn’t reached the Divine Ocean Realm. It would be pointless for him to learn it.

Now that he was a Divine Ocean Realm Master himself, he had to start finding out more.

The appearance of the Soul Cutting Saber came as a surprise. The Hall of Battle Points must have noticed his ascension to a higher Realm, which was why such an item even appeared.

He had the Soul Soothing Tower to protect his Divine Soul and ensure that his Divine Ocean wouldn’t be shattered, but that was passive protection. He lacked moves to launch Soul Attacks.

In fact, he knew some moves. Be it Charm or Soul Control, they could be considered attacks against Divine Souls.

But when he was contending with a Divine Ocean Realm Master, it wasn’t like he could use Charm or Soul Control on the other party. It was unrealistic, and he would be sneered at if his attack wasn’t successful.

Naturally, he could activate his Divine Ego and launch a Soul Attack. Just like what the traitor of Red Cloud Mountain, Ning Hu, had done. The members of Team A3 were so severely impacted that they fell into the lake as their Divine Souls were in turmoil.

But his Soul Attack was only effective because there was a huge gap between their powers.

If both parties were similarly powerful, such a simple Soul Attack could easily be fended off by the other party.

Only when one could turn his Soul Power into an effective attack could it be considered a Soul Attack. If Ning Hu had grasped how to launch a real Soul Attack, the members of Team A3 would’ve lost the power to fight in an instant.

Soul Power was like a blunt weapon. When one learned how to use proper Soul Attacks, it was like sharpening the blunt weapon, and his attacks would finally be fatal.

Therefore, Divine Ocean Realm Masters would usually cultivate some Soul Secret Techniques for attacks or protection. This was what all of them had been doing. One would be at a disadvantage in a fight if he didn’t know such Secret Techniques.

Other than that, one could also use a Soul Artifact like the Soul Cutting Saber before Lu Ye’s eyes. This would save him the time and energy to learn a Soul Secret Technique.

However, Soul Artifacts were rare, and it was extremely difficult to craft them. There were many Divine Ocean Realm Masters in Jiu Zhou, but only five per cent of them had Soul Artifacts. It went to show how rare Soul Artifacts were.

If it was only a saber, even if it was a Spirit Treasure, Lu Ye wouldn’t be tempted. But it was a different story since it was a Soul Artifact.

Instead of purchasing the Soul Cutting Saber in a hurry, he walked away to look at the other items on the stone platforms.

All of them were Soul Artifacts which could be used to attack or defend. He started feeling giddy.

It had to be said that the new items on the stone platforms were precious. Lu Ye wanted all of them, but he knew that quality was more important than quantity when it came to Soul Artifacts. He had the Soul Soothing Tower for protection, which was good enough for now. What he lacked was something he could use to launch Soul Attacks.

In the end, he returned to the Soul Cutting Saber.

He decided to choose this weapon not only because it was in the form of a saber. More importantly, it wasn’t a Soul Artifact in the traditional sense.

A Soul Artifact in the traditional sense could only be kept inside a Divine Ocean, and it was somewhere between real and virtual. But the Soul Cutting Saber was different, for it could be merged with a tangible item such as the Inviolable Saber.

It didn’t have a fixed shape in the first place. It kept shifting between different appearances in the form of a saber. Therefore, merging it with the Inviolable Saber wouldn’t be a problem. It was like blessing the Inviolable Saber with a power that could hurt Divine Souls.

If he used the Inviolable Saber with the new power to hurt his enemies, it would impact their Divine Souls, catching them off guard.

It was horrifying to think that some flesh wounds would turn into damage in Divine Souls during an intense fight. A moment of sluggishness might cost one his life.

Lu Ye then took a look at the price, and he donned a dark expression the next moment. That was because the Soul Cutting Saber cost 500,000 battle points, which was ridiculous.

He had only spent 188,888 battle points to purchase the Soul Soothing Tower, so how was it possible that the Soul Cutting Saber cost 500,000 battle points? Both of these items were Soul Artifacts. Even if they differed in quality, there shouldn’t be such a huge difference between their prices.

Previously, the most expensive item he found in the Hall of Battle Points was the Golden Body Token, which cost 300,000 battle points each. The exorbitant price was justifiable as the item could save one’s life. But what made the Soul Cutting Saber so special that it could be so costly?

He then took a look at the prices of other Soul Artifacts and discovered that they were similarly priced as the Soul Soothing Tower. Some were even cheaper.

It was a wonder why the item he had set his eyes on was so ridiculously expensive.

He suspected that the items on display in the Hall of Battle Points were specifically targeted at him. No sooner had he acquired a lot of battle points from the Heavens which was rounded up to a million points than something that cost 500,000 battle points appeared in this place. What was more, it was the item he was interested in.

The Heavens were so smart as to get back half of the battle points it had just given to Lu Ye.

He was vexed, but it wasn’t like he could file a complaint. He could only grit his teeth and purchase the Soul Cutting Saber.

He stopped looking at other Soul Artifacts for there wasn’t such a need. Also, if he kept buying more things, he would use up his battle points. He went to a particular stone platform and purchased ten Golden Amulets before leaving the Hall of Battle Points.

Silver Flood Dragon said enthusiastically, “Come here again soon.”

“I’m never coming back!” Lu Ye replied furiously. [It’s daylight robbery!]

Silver Flood Dragon was puzzled, not knowing what had happened.

After leaving the Sanctum of Providence, Lu Ye returned to his place and fished out the Inviolable Saber. He placed it on his lap and calmed down before running his hand across the blade.

As that happened, some dark liquid appeared out of nowhere and slowly engulfed the Inviolable Saber.

A moment later, the Soul Cutting Saber enveloped the Inviolable Saber. Just like what he had expected, the liquid turned into a coat around the Inviolable Saber. The appearance of the weapon didn’t change because the Soul Cutting Saber was black as well, which perfectly matched the Inviolable Saber.

He lifted the weapon and discovered that it had become heavier, which was a good thing to him.

After he ascended to a higher Realm, the previous weight of the weapon was no longer suitable. Although the weapon was now heavier than he preferred, he could still use it with ease.

Just as he was ready to find out how powerful the Inviolable Saber had become, the coat suddenly started changing. He could feel as the coat melted and infused into the Inviolable Saber quickly. It disappeared in the blink of an eye.

The turn of events shocked him as he had no idea what was going on. The next moment, a sight that would break his heart happened. The enchantments within the Inviolable Saber were getting destroyed rapidly.

The quality of a Spell Artifact was determined by the number of enchantments. The more enchantments there were, the higher the quality.

The Inviolable Saber had gone through several upgrades, so it was now a Spell Artifact. Naturally, there were a lot of enchantments inside. Supposedly, unless the blade was severely damaged, the enchantments inside couldn’t be destroyed.

But such a thing was happening right before his eyes. It was obvious that the Soul Cutting Saber was able to dissolve enchantments.

Such an effect wasn’t mentioned when he looked at the information about the Soul Cutting Saber in the Hall of Battle Points. Certainly, the introductions of the treasures there were usually vague. For example, the Soul Soothing Tower was only introduced as an item that could protect the Divine Ocean.

As for how it could defend the Divine Soul or how effective it was, the user had to observe it on his own.

Cultivators weren’t kids, so they had their judgements. Not everything needed to be explained in detail.

But this time was different. The enchantments within the Inviolable Saber were dissolving rapidly, and the weapon’s quality was plunging as well.

A desperate Lu Ye infused his Spiritual Power into the Inviolable Saber to stop that from happening, but his attempt was futile.

He watched as the weapon that had been with him for the longest time plunged from a Spell Artifact to a Top Grade Spirit Artifact. Then it was High Grade, Middle Grade, and eventually Low Grade. It soon turned into an ordinary saber without any enchantments.

Lu Ye felt that the veins on his forehead bobbed.

The Soul Cutting Saber was costly. It would’ve been fine if the item was truly useful. After all, it was used to deal with enemies.

But before it made any contributions, it had destroyed the Inviolable Saber. That was exasperating.

Certainly, it wasn’t right to say that the Inviolable Saber had been destroyed as it was still around, and it wasn’t fundamentally damaged. As long as it was recast, its previous quality would be restored.

Lu Ye could do that now, albeit with some difficulty. He didn’t need to rely on anyone.

But that would cost him a lot of time and energy. He also needed some special materials for Artification. It required different materials to build each enchantment.

He furrowed his brows and examined the weapon with his Divine Ego. Soon, he appeared to be shocked and doubtful.

He could feel there was something new in the Inviolable Saber. It was supposed to be the dark liquid that constituted the Soul Cutting Saber. The liquid filled every part of the Inviolable Saber. The two things were perfectly merged and could no longer be separated.

Moreover, after all the enchantments were destroyed, the liquid stabilised. Lu Ye tried to control it and realised it wouldn’t take him much effort to do that.

He could control the liquid and make it flow around the Inviolable Saber however he wanted it. He could even divide the liquid into many parts.

Initially, he didn’t think too deeply about it, but soon, he donned a solemn expression. He couldn’t stop a bold idea from blooming in his mind.
