His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2398: Chapter 685: Return (3) Second Update

Mu Yichen didn’t know that Lun Yun had such a good relationship with Qin Mu, so much so that even he had to wait for her permission to have a meal with her outside. For others, it seemed like just notifying her was enough.

So...

Lun Yun was brushing her teeth while looking at the WeChat message sent to her phone.

”No time!”

Just two words, very crisp and direct. Lun Yun even thought Qin Mu had become distant from her, not wanting to be friends after returning from Paris.

Qin Mu emerged from the bathroom half an hour later. Knowing he was in the room, she deliberately washed her face and applied makeup before coming out.

Sure enough, Mu Yichen was already gone by then, which made her feel relieved. Somehow, looking at the neatly made bed, she unconsciously started to hum a song while finding clothes to change into.

Considering today’s weather, she chose a burgundy shirt and a blue skirt. However, when she held the blue skirt against her waist for comparison, she frowned and decided to put it back.

Mu always liked blue, but she certainly couldn’t wear that color in front of him now to prevent any wild thoughts.

But after going downstairs and discovering him in the kitchen preparing breakfast, her heart melted instantly.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if he were always this nice?

Qin Mu realized something: when Mu wasn’t speaking and was focused on what he was doing, he seemed like the wonderful male protagonist from a fairy tale, the kind women long for. That protagonist wasn’t a prince or a domineering CEO, but simply a dedicated, affectionate, and extraordinarily ’cultured’ man.

Qin Mu stood in a corner of the dining room where she could see Mu Yichen, gazing at him quietly.

”Walk slower, why do you always have to walk ahead of me?”

The brief silence was broken. The brother and sister came downstairs, with Huanhuan complaining that Chengcheng always wanted to run ahead of her.

”Why can you walk ahead of me, but I can’t walk ahead of you?”

Chengcheng unhappily retorted to Huanhuan and continued to run down.

”Hey! You little brat, I’m your sister, you need to respect your elders, you know?”

”Well then, sister, you should show love to the young!”

Huanhuan, furious, chased him downstairs intending to hit him, while Chengcheng ran fast. Meanwhile, the woman coming out of the dining room accidentally lifted her eyes to see the man in the kitchen looking at her.

In fact, they were both disturbed by their son’s and daughter’s voices, yet seeing each other like this, Qin Mu deliberately feigned aloofness, turned around, and just walked out.

Mu Yichen watched her walk away, and once she was out of sight, he turned back to continue his work.

After breakfast, the siblings needed to go to school. Qin Mu didn’t want to go out and stayed home, rummaging through her suitcase to find the medicine she bought for Feng Fanghua, a large package, then ran downstairs: ”Give this to their grandma!”

Qin Mu stopped him at the doorway, panting while speaking to him.

Mu Yichen looked at the things in her hand and gently asked, ”Are you sure?”

”What’s so unsure about this?”

Qin Mu chuckled, thinking it’s just a package of medicine.

Mu Yichen nodded, then took the medicine and left with the children.

After Huanhuan went out, she called out to Mu Yichen, ”Dad, grandma isn’t nice to mom, so why does mom still buy her medicine?”

”Mu Chenghuan, you’re a bit silly, grandma is mom’s elder!”

Chengcheng answered on behalf of Mu Yichen.

Mu Yichen chuckled lightly.

”I know grandma is mom’s elder, but grandma always bullies mom.”

Huanhuan thought, always feeling a bit sorry for Qin Mu.

Chengcheng also fell silent, but deep down, both siblings understood that elders must be respected.

Mu Yichen didn’t further explain, holding the medicine with a helpless smile.

Some people, it seems, are destined to care about each other regardless of whether they’re happy together or not.

This morning, Qin Mu was once again idle at home, while Mu Yichen didn’t come home early. He went with Xi Meng and Zhao Huai to City South in the morning, had lunch together in the city center, and played ball with Qiao Yi and Jiang Zhiyuan in the afternoon.

This year, Jiang Zhiyuan had been playing simple games, like billiards and bowling, anyway, holding a basketball, he was out of breath after just half an hour.

Seeing him lie on the side sweating, the others merely smiled and continued to finish the game.

”Have you heard? Gongzhi Ping’an backed out of the marriage!”

When everyone sat down on the ground to rest after the game, Jiang Zhiyuan suddenly shared a sensational gossip, the men sitting around looked at him in surprise.

Even Mu Yichen raised his eyebrows; this should be the first-hand gossip that others didn’t know about.
