His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2363: Chapter 678: Chasing After My Wife for Thousands of Miles (10)

The car headed to Qin Mu’s studio before the sun went down.

Mu Yichen leaned against the car and lit a cigarette, then watched her come out with her coworkers, coats draped over their arms, chatting and laughing.

”Qin, your husband!”

”Qin, quick, look ahead!”

The two beauties walking out with her reminded her to look straight ahead.

When Qin Mu lifted her eyes, sure enough, she saw it: his car parked by the curb, his tall, handsome figure tilted against the side, smoking carelessly, eyes half-squinted, staring straight in their direction.

Unless something unexpected was going on, he was staring at her.

Qin Mu’s heart skipped a beat, realizing he was here for her.

But Mu Yichen’s half-squinted gaze moved past her face to the people behind her; several men came out with them from inside. Walking just behind her was her handsome assistant.

Mu Yichen snorted inwardly, feeling extremely disgruntled, but his expression stayed calm and composed. Watching her walk closer, he straightened up, held the cigarette in his palm to the side, and gave her coworkers a perfectly measured nod.

”Qin, your husband is sooo handsome!”

”Came all the way just to pick you up, how lucky!”

The two women still wore that mix of envy and fangirl swooning. Qin Mu just smiled.

”We’ll get going then!”

The two women waved goodbye to Qin Mu and Mu Yichen; the few men also left one after another. Qin Mu’s assistant glanced at her, lightly patted her shoulder, simply smiled as he said goodbye, reminded her she still had business downtown tomorrow, and then left.

Qin Mu nodded. After watching him leave, she turned her eyes back to Mu Yichen. Mu Yichen gave a cold snort: ”Pretty cozy, huh!”

”President Mu, what brings you here again?”

Qin Mu deliberately ignored his comment and gently asked him something else.

”To pick up a heartless woman and take her home!”

Mu Yichen shot her an unhappy look, then opened the passenger door for her.

”I have my own car!”

Qin Mu raised her brows high, her face clearly saying she was too good for his car.

”Just get in already!”

Mu Yichen didn’t bother arguing with her; he simply pushed her in and stuffed her into the seat.

And just like that, Qin Mu could only resign herself to it.

”Where are those two siblings?”

As soon as Mu Yichen got in, Qin Mu was pulling on her seat belt when she asked.

”At home!”

Mu Yichen answered blandly and started the car.

Qin Mu didn’t say anything else. Those two little devils were probably used to being left alone by the two of them—super independent, always full of their own brilliant ideas.

Qin Mu looked at the roads she traveled almost every day, the familiar scenery, and suddenly felt that today it all seemed a bit different. She didn’t know if it was because the sun was setting and her off-work timing was perfect, or because of the person beside her. The flowers, grass, and trees suddenly felt as if they’d come alive, smiling at her.

Qin Mu’s heart stirred out of nowhere, then she kept gazing out. Everything she passed by on the way felt like that.

She remembered kicking him twice that morning when she left. But hey, who told him to sleep in her bed? Qin Mu subconsciously sneaked a guilty glance at him—very quick.

She figured he probably wasn’t mad about that, because when she kicked him he’d been sound asleep, so he shouldn’t know he’d been kicked.

Good! Better not bring it up herself and dig her own grave!

That thought made Qin Mu press her lips together firmly.

The fact that he didn’t hear a single sound from her the whole way only made Mu Yichen more annoyed. In his head he was thinking, I came all the way to pick you up, and you don’t even say thank you—fine, whatever. But has it really become this hard for us to even talk?

What does she take Mu Yichen for?

Some driver who comes to fetch her after work?

Sure, he’d been a driver for her before, but that was then and this is now. Being her driver at this point was truly, genuinely not enjoyable!

”We’re going to Jian Yan’s place tonight to celebrate. You’re not going, right?”

Qin Mu asked Mu Yichen as she got out of the car at the gate.

Mu Yichen gave her a cold look, said nothing, slammed the car door hard, and walked off.

Qin Mu...

But before Qin Mu had time to chase after him and ask, her phone rang in her bag. She fished it out while walking and answered—it was Xiao Wei.

”Qin Mu, um, your master! Well...”

Xiao Wei looked awkwardly at the man beside her who was coaxing the child, finding it really hard to say.

With the setting sun in the west, it was a beautiful scene: Jian Yan and she stood by the window, one on the phone, one soothing the baby.

”What’s wrong with Master?”

Qin Mu’s heart tightened, hearing Xiao Wei hemming and hawing like that.

”Well... Jian Yan, you should tell Qin Mu yourself!”
