His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2352: Chapter 675: Chasing Love Across a Thousand Miles (7)

”Mm!”

The brother and sister answered in unison, happily following Qin Mu.

On the way, the two of them were already excitedly looking at the scenery outside, all those strange buildings. Qin Mu called Qin Mingzhu: ”They’ve arrived!”

”As long as they’re there, I told you not to worry! But I didn’t tell your brother-in-law, okay! You can tell him yourself!”

”You—hello? Hello? Qin Mingzhu?”

Qin Mu was so mad she almost pulled over.

The two, who’d been admiring the view, heard their mom’s angry shout and turned to look at her. Seeing she’d gone quiet, they just went back to watching the scenery like it was nothing new.

”Quick, look at that statue. Wow, it looks real!”

Huanhuan pointed at a spot outside that they’d already passed, showing it to Chengcheng. Chengcheng looked, then pulled his gaze back and looked somewhere else, with a ”I’ve seen it all” expression: ”It is real, obviously!”

Actually, what the brother and sister were most excited about was that they’d just hopped on a plane like this to go see Mom. Hahaha!

The feeling of going off on their own was both fresh and thrilling.

Qin Mu didn’t want to call Mu Yichen, so when they got back she tossed the phone to the two of them: ”You two call your dad and tell him you’ve arrived safely in Paris.”

The siblings were kneeling in front of the sofa playing with toys. They looked at the phone, then at their mom’s cold face, and then scrambled up and ran outside: ”We’re not calling!”

”Hey! Mu Chenghuan, your wings are getting pretty stiff, huh? I still haven’t settled the score with you for cracking your classmate’s head open!”

Qin Mu shouted, but the two had already run off.

Qin Mu’s head ached with worry, but she still refused to call him.

Only late that night, after the two had played themselves out and fallen asleep, did she finally take her phone back to her room and, very reluctantly, make the call.

At that moment Mu Yichen had just gotten off work and was on his way home.

”It’s me!”

Qin Mu said into the phone, unwillingly.

”I know it’s you.”

Mu Yichen’s tone was flat and a little impatient.

”Huanhuan and Chengcheng are here with me. Their aunt put them on the plane.”

Qin Mu explained the reason for her call, still fairly calm.

But heaven knew how much she was struggling inside, how much she was suffering.

Every word from Mu Yichen felt like slow torture to her.

”Send them back.”

Mu Yichen said coldly, just like that.

Qin Mu instantly stopped feeling tormented and snapped at him, angry: ”It’s not like I told them to come!”

”But right now they are with you. How am I supposed to know whether you egged them on to go to Paris? Don’t you video chat with them every day?”

Mu Yichen shot back, questioning her.

Qin Mu...

Video chat every day?

She did send videos every day, but those two little brats hardly ever picked up, okay?

”So send them back. Just drop them at the airport or personally escort them home, that’s your responsibility.”

Mu Yichen’s voice was still just as indifferent.

”Hmph! You tell me to send them and I’m supposed to jump? I say you can come pick them up!”

Qin Mu retorted angrily, mocking him.

”Fine.”

”Wha—what?”

Qin Mu suddenly wondered if there was something wrong with her ears.

”I’ll come over tomorrow.”

Mu Yichen said, then hung up. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Qin Mu...

Her shocked little face tilted slightly, and she practically doubted whether she’d misheard. She looked at her phone, wondering if she should call back and ask again, just to confirm—she had to have misheard.

But she still couldn’t call again. What if he said she was delusional or something.

Anyway, she’d already told him the kids were with her and that he didn’t have to worry. As for the rest, it didn’t matter.

Only, for some reason, that night she tossed and turned, unable to sleep, her heart in a constant panic until dawn.

Yet those two little ones got up at the crack of dawn, happy as clams, playing childish chase games in the yard.

Woken by the noise, Qin Mu stood at the window, looking out. Both of them were wearing jackets, actually knew how to keep warm, and she had no idea what they were talking about, but they were laughing like crazy.

Qin Mu had had a bit of a headache, but suddenly she couldn’t help smiling.

Those two really were her spiritual sustenance.

It was nice to have them stay a few days. Maybe she’d figure everything out.

She’d been muddle-headed lately, her brain a little sluggish.

Especially after that phone call last night, she practically suspected she was brain-damaged.
