His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2353: Chapter 676: Chasing Love Across a Thousand Miles (Part 8)

In the morning it was bread, fried egg, and milk. The siblings ate deliciously, while Qin Mu stood at the dining table watching them eat. She furrowed her brow, contemplating the fried egg she made, thinking her cooking skills still haven’t improved—it’s still that not-so-pretty fried egg.

She leaned over, pressing both hands on the table edge, examining Chengcheng before looking at Huanhuan. Her intense gaze made Huanhuan a bit nervous, and she hesitated to eat the bread after finishing the egg, ”Mom, why are you staring at us? Aren’t you hungry?”

”I’m not hungry! It’s just, you two have quite the appetite!”

Qin Mu mumbled, her sharp eyes still focused on their faces.

”It’s been a while since having such a simple breakfast, feels pretty good!”

After understanding her mom’s confusion, Huanhuan cheered up again, and continued eating heartily.

Qin Mu couldn’t help but chuckle, sighed, and then turned to the kitchen to brew herself some coffee. In the morning, a cup of coffee is simply the best.

Qin Mu took them to the studio, telling them that since they were here, they’d have to accept a fate of boredom.

Who knew, once at the studio, the siblings got even happier, playing here, looking around there. Some people even brought snacks and soda for them. Most importantly, they actually loved grabbing scissors and cutting randomly.

Occasionally, Qin Mu opened the blinds, looking out the window from the office, always feeling this pair of siblings are so bold!

They never seem to find anywhere boring.

But when she let go of the blinds, her eyes dropped, unconsciously thinking of last night’s phone call again, a vague panic rising in her heart.

Is he really coming over?

She doesn’t mind him taking the kids away but she really minds seeing him.

Should’ve stayed calm last night, told him to return them after a few days, then it wouldn’t be so quick they’d have to meet.

This is worse than when she begged Jian Yan to take her as an apprentice back in the day.

Feels like she has to pass his interview, endure his questioning without losing her temper.

”Qin!”

The assistant opened the door calling for her.

Qin Mu stood by the window, dazed as she turned around, ”Hm?”

”Meeting!”

The assistant smiled indulgently, looking at her to remind.

Qin Mu snapped back, ”Coming!”

Qin Mu temporarily set aside her thoughts of him, went to the meeting.

But during the meeting, whether it’s because of the siblings, she couldn’t focus at all. Her mind was all over, seemingly devoid of any memory ability.

Her assistant reminded her several times about zoning out, but soon enough she zoned out again. Luckily, they were discussing matters and didn’t require her to have opinions.

It’s just that everyone could very clearly see her absent-mindedness.

At lunch, it was the same; the kids had good appetites but she could hardly swallow more than a couple of mouthfuls.

Mu Yichen arrived empty-handed, something he and Qin Mu really shared—they both hated carrying extra items when going out.

In the afternoon, after Qin Mu finished work and left the studio with the kids, she saw him standing across the street.

So tall, straight, simple suit and shirt, yet fitted perfectly on him.

His face devoid of any excess expressions, always that icy demeanor.

Chengcheng and Huanhuan saw him, happily waving their hands, ”Dad! Dad, we’re over here!”

In the next moment, the siblings realized their dad wasn’t ignoring them, rather looking at mom, then quietly got in the car first.

Qin Mu still stood there, like a statue, staring at the person in the distance.

As the traffic thinned, Mu Yichen stepped towards her, coming closer, so close as if he walked right into her heart.

Tearing her heart into pieces.

Qin Mu finally lowered her gaze, once he truly approached, said nothing, and turned to get in the car.

While inside the studio, some people had already seen this scene, including her assistant.

Mu Yichen said nothing, seated in the passenger seat.

Qin Mu drove, heading straight to her place.

With Mu Yichen’s temperament, if he wanted to stay at a hotel, he’d go stay, no need for her to say.

In the night, Qin Mu felt agitated though someone cooked for her, she felt like Mu Yichen wasn’t leaving.

He was in her kitchen, and that kitchen felt like his.

Wherever he went, that place seemed like his.

But the siblings, due to Mu Yichen’s presence, became much more well-behaved.

Heh, the siblings secretly ran out, still knew to be afraid, huh?

Qin Mu thought to herself, I can’t tame you two, but surely someone can.
