His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2384: Chapter 682: Ten Million Miles Chasing My Wife (14) Return

”Grandpa!”

Qin Mu stood quietly in the restroom, talking on the phone with the old man.

”I heard you’re back?”

The old man’s voice was earnest and filled with affection for her.

”Yes!”

Qin Mu replied, fearing the old man might actually ask her to go to the Mu Family, but she managed to remain calm for now.

In the living room, the brother and sister were playing chess, deciding who would do the other’s laundry based on who lost.

”It’s good you’re back! Xiaomu, it’s great that you’re back, hmm?”

The old man’s voice was a bit unusually hoarse.

Listening to him, Qin Mu lowered her head unconsciously.

”Yes! Grandpa, if you have time, can I invite you to Jixiang Restaurant for a meal tomorrow?”

Qin Mu thought about it; since the old man already knew she was back, she, as a junior, should make a gesture.

”You youngsters get together first. It’s never too late to find me after you’ve had your meeting.”

The old man was happy inside, but his tone restrained.

”I won’t be here for many days this time. They aren’t in a hurry to see me, so at noon tomorrow I’ll reserve a table at Jixiang Restaurant. You can bring friends if you’d like.”

”Then it’s settled. Tomorrow I won’t bring friends. You and Yichen can accompany me for a meal.”

The old man thought for a moment and told Qin Mu, though inviting her to the house never came out of his mouth.

”Alright!”

Qin Mu, aware that Yichen was also invited, momentarily felt uneasy. However, understanding the old man’s intent, she agreed.

When Qin Mu finished the call and went out, Mu Yichen was standing outside, his dark eyes gazing at her.

For some reason, Qin Mu felt nervous, as if she had been caught secretly doing something wrong.

”Why are you standing here?”

Qin Mu asked him softly.

”Grandpa’s call?”

Mu Yichen asked without answering her question.

”Yes!”

Qin Mu nodded, then said, ”Why don’t you reserve a table at Jixiang Restaurant? Tomorrow the two of us will invite Grandpa for lunch.”

Qin Mu remembered last time when she failed to get a good table for Grandpa, which led to an incident with Gongzhi Ping’an - Mu was quite displeased. So this time she directly asked Mu.

Having someone capable and not using them is indeed a waste!

Qin Mu suddenly thought this.

”Okay!”

Mu Yichen glanced at her again, not as sharp as before.

Qin Mu also gave him a look, so that night, Qin Mu slept in the master bedroom, and he slept in the guest room.

Chengcheng lost the game and had to wash socks for Huanhuan, fuming with anger, but still obediently washed socks for Huanhuan.

Huanhuan watched from the side, eating an apple and praising him for his honesty and capability.

And they, since they had to go to school the next day, went to bed early.

Qin Mu and Mu Yichen were watching TV downstairs, and only after hearing the siblings return to their room did they both breathe a sigh of relief.

”Then I’ll go to bed too! Good night!”

Qin Mu spoke to him with a good temper.

”Good, night!”

Mu Yichen gritted his teeth.

——

The next day at noon, the old man left the Mu Family, Feng Fanghua stood at the door watching, unknowingly sighed, then turned back to the living room.

”Sister Wang, prepare in the afternoon. I’ll bring Chengcheng and Huanhuan over for dinner tonight.”

The maid cleaning the coffee table slowly stood up, still holding a rag, looking at Feng Fanghua somewhat startled.

Feng Fanghua noticed her uneasiness, frowned with displeasure: ”What’s wrong? Do you also think it’s not okay for me to invite my grandchildren over for a meal?”

”No! Not at all! Of course, it’s fine, I’ll go prepare right away!”

The maid quickly shook her hand, then turned and walked off with the rag.

Feng Fanghua knew the household helpers all sided with Qin Mu, which made her more upset.

However, nothing at that moment was more important than her meeting her grandchildren.

Chengcheng was still at kindergarten, she thought about it, didn’t care much, and called the driver to take her to the kindergarten.

Feng Fanghua arrived at the kindergarten just in time for the children’s lunch. The school leadership, aware of her visit, accompanied her to the cafeteria, where she saw her beloved grandson eating, her eyes filled with boundless tenderness, almost bringing tears.

”Mu Chengyang, your grandma’s here to see you!”

The little girl in the red dress sitting opposite him called out softly.

Chengcheng lifted his eyes, his pure eyes containing a maturity beyond his years, and upon spotting Feng Fanghua, he thought for a moment before standing up.

Feng Fanghua watched him walk towards her, couldn’t help but smile with trembling lips.

”Grandma! What brings you here?”

Chengcheng walked over, called to her, then asked slowly, with a bit of confusion in his voice.
