His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1984: Chapter 569: Has Mrs. Mu Matured Somewhat? (2)

Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai knew he was coming to work, so they followed him upstairs. The three of them chatted as they came out of the elevator. Yang Qin, who was printing some documents, turned her head upon hearing the noise and finally saw the person she had been worrying about day and night. Her heart unknowingly leapt with excitement, but she calmly said, ”Good morning, President Mu!”

Mu Yichen glanced over, nodded slightly, and Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai also took a look at her but continued following Mu Yichen to his office.

”So, these past two days Qin Mu transformed into your little maid. Did you at least change a hundred outfits at home yesterday?”

”Our Yichen isn’t that perverted. He probably didn’t wear any clothes at all.”

Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai teased him all the way to the office and continued there.

Yang Qin was just about to knock on the door when she heard the muffled voices from inside. Her raised hand hesitated and didn’t knock.

”But visiting you yesterday afternoon, I noticed for the first time that Qin Mu seems a bit more steady and mature.”

Qiao Yi suddenly remarked sincerely.

Mu Yichen looked up slightly and smiled a bit, ”What kind of person did you think she was? Her maturity and wisdom only show when necessary, not that they don’t exist.”

Hearing him speak up for Qin Mu, Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai couldn’t help but smile ambiguously, ”They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We have nothing more to say, but seeing her calm down to take care of you, we are happy for you.”

”That’s right! But the important thing is, the brothers want to see you today. Meet at AM at noon so everyone can confirm you’re alright?”

Zhao Huai nodded in agreement with Qiao Yi’s words and reminded Mu Yichen, though it was just a reminder since everyone had already arranged it, except Mu Yichen didn’t know.

”Sigh! Are you sure this is a good idea for taking care of an injured person?”

Mu Yichen shook his head, thinking if he could still be comforted at AM.

”Well, you did give us quite a scare!”

Qiao Yi said when the door sounded, he answered for Mu Yichen, ”Come in!”

Yang Qin walked in with the documents and brewed a cup of health tea, ”If you’re planning a gathering at noon, remember that an injured person can’t drink alcohol or eat spicy foods.”

She put the tea down and reminded Qiao Yi.

Qiao Yi looked down at her, smiled, and then couldn’t help but ask, ”The people who troubled you that day, was there a mastermind behind it?”

Yang Qin turned to look at Qiao Yi, who pulled out a chair and sat down, staring at her curiously.

Yang Qin involuntarily glanced at Mu Yichen. Mu Yichen reached his hand out, ”Give me the documents I need to see first!”

”Okay!”

Yang Qin agreed, handing the documents in her arms to him, ”These two need your morning signature, the rest can wait until before the afternoon ends.”

Mu Yichen nodded and began reviewing the documents.

Yang Qin noticed that Mu Yichen seemed to genuinely not care about the incident anymore, aside from a couple of questions in the car that day.

Qin Mu probably wouldn’t hold back from telling him about her phone call, so it meant he truly didn’t care.

Right! What boss actually cares about a secretary’s affairs?

”Yang Qin?”

Qiao Yi saw Yang Qin staring at Mu Yichen in a daze and called her again.

”Oh! The police said those three mentioned a young woman, but they didn’t know the name, so...”

Yang Qin explained, because she wanted Mu Yichen to know, and this was the best way to say it.

”So? That’s the end of it?”

Zhao Huai furrowed his brows, the police are always adept at letting things slide.

”Since they couldn’t provide a name, they had to leave it unresolved.”

Yang Qin nodded, her tone tinged with regret.

”Should we get Xiaobo involved?”

Zhao Huai glanced at Qiao Yi and Mu Yichen.

”Xiaobo is...”

”You can go now!”

As Yang Qin was about to question Zhao Huai, Mu Yichen suddenly looked up at her and calmly said.

Yang Qin immediately stopped, ”Yes!”

After Yang Qin pretended to leave calmly, Mu Yichen said, ”No need to bother Xiaobo with this matter!”

Yang Qin heard this outside, then left with her head down.

Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai exchanged a glance and remained silent.

Mu Yichen apparently didn’t want to help Yang Qin with this issue, but they had no idea why.

Mu Yichen also didn’t elaborate further, he just told them not to interfere.

In the afternoon, Jing Feng finally found time and met Jiang Zhiyuan at the entrance to AM. Jiang Zhiyuan hugged his shoulder as they walked in, ”It’s been a while since we’ve seen our grand prosecutor Jing. What have you been busy with?”
