His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1957: Chapter 561: His Time, Qin Mu Decides

”Trust me, never invest feelings in your boss or supervisor that shouldn’t be invested.”

Xi Meng met with Yang Qin at a tea restaurant, and after some small talk, Xi Meng thoughtfully and calmly gave her this piece of advice.

”Don’t worry, I won’t get carried away. Once you’ve had your baby and come back, I’ll leave again.”

Yang Qin understood what Xi Meng meant. The last time Xi Meng visited her at the hospital, she had already gotten the idea, and that was also why they met up today.

”I’m just afraid that you know everything deep down but still do something foolish. Believe me, whatever he does for you isn’t because you are Yang Qin.”

Xi Meng spoke emotionally to Yang Qin.

Yang Qin smiled faintly and said softly as she lowered her head, ”I understand!”

Xi Meng looked at her and always felt like Yang Qin understood everything inside, but she wasn’t sure if Yang Qin could restrain herself.

”You don’t need to rush back to work; you should still focus on recuperating.”

Xi Meng, watching her with lowered eyes, reminded her.

”Mm! The boss thinks so too. I plan to take this time to rest well. Maybe the issue with my grandmother is still a hurdle I haven’t gotten over, which is why I suddenly couldn’t hold it together this time. I want to think about everything carefully and sort it out before going back to work.”

Yang Qin responded.

Xi Meng nodded, ”Mm! That’s good!”

”By the way, have you had any contact with your mother?”

Xi Meng relaxed a bit upon hearing this and shifted the topic.

”No, ever since she remarried, she’s been traveling all over the place, never at home. I can’t reach her even if I wanted to. She’s always valued a free lifestyle, and ’handle your own affairs’ is what she’s told me the most.”

”So when your grandmother passed away, she... didn’t come back either?”

Xi Meng felt uneasy asking this.

”Mm! She said that once a person dies, they become ashes, just a handful of ashes. She didn’t want to come back just to see that!”

Yang Qin chuckled, but somehow her eyes blurred.

Xi Meng sighed helplessly, ”Your mom sure has a wide heart!”

”How are you feeling now? Is the baby in your belly doing well?”

Yang Qin looked at her belly and asked.

”Mm! Everything’s fine! Those days, I simply forgot about being pregnant and got a bit anxious with work, it wasn’t anything serious. Now I can’t even go to work!”

She was also worried something might happen. Xi Meng didn’t dare to say the latter part, fearing Yang Qin would think she was complaining, but honestly, she was upset. Now, when she wanted to go to work, Qiao Yi stared her down with those big bull-like eyes, telling her not to think about working.

”When you’re pregnant, you need to be more careful.”

After exchanging polite remarks for a while, they parted ways. Xi Meng left the tea restaurant and went straight home, while Yang Qin aimlessly walked along the roadside.

Xi Meng was warning her, she knew.

Yang Qin felt a bit troubled inside. Truth be told, working beside the boss is every branch’s female secretary’s dream. It’s called a dream because it seems so out of reach. Everyone has their own roles to fill, and except for major changes, this is almost an impossible feat. Being transferred to Rongcheng this time, even though it was only for a year, she had great confidence, hoping to surpass Xi Meng to stay in Rongcheng. As a company employee, she craved recognition from the boss for her abilities. However, as a woman...

Which woman hasn’t fantasized about transforming from a Cinderella into a princess?

She felt a bit troubled inside, knowing she shouldn’t have such thoughts.

Zhang Hongyun approached her, tossing a two-hundred-thousand-yuan check in front of her, expecting her to leave Mu Yichen. Thinking of that woman, she couldn’t help but chuckle, putting all the nonsensical thoughts aside for the moment. She hailed a cab at the roadside to return to her current little apartment.

Ten days later, she gathered her strength again, arriving at the office building before 8:30. After finishing the handover with the colleague who temporarily replaced her, she sat down and reviewed everything that happened while she was away. At exactly nine o’clock, Mu Yichen appeared on the top floor promptly.

”Good morning, boss!”

Upon hearing the elevator open, Yang Qin lifted her eyes, then stood up to greet him.

Mu Yichen reflexively glanced at her, ”Mm!”

Mu Yichen cast a brief, indifferent glance without pausing, while Yang Qin kept watching his back for a long time, because of his habitual indifference, until he entered the office.
