His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1954: Chapter 560: Leisurely and Comfortable Life (Second Update)

Qin Mingzhu deliberately ignored her just now, and after the maternity matron left, she quietly said to Qin Mu: ”I told my mother-in-law to fire her, but my mother-in-law was acting strangely and said she took good care of him. I have to wash my hands before holding my own son? It’s ridiculous.”

Qin Mu only then realized that she wasn’t the only one who had to wash her hands, so she felt less awkward and comforted her: ”Just wash your hands if she asks you to. Maternity matrons are especially particular about the baby’s hygiene.”

”Your family did the same back then?”

”Kind of! I hardly held him!”

Qin Mu whispered to her, always feeling a bit inadequate.

Huanhuan suffered with her as a baby, but later Chengcheng was mostly taken care of by the maternity matron and Feng Fanghua, except when feeding.

”I also don’t hold him much, but I have to breastfeed him, and even then I have to wash my hands. I’m not the one eating! Hmph!”

Qin Mingzhu also whispered, seemingly worried her mother-in-law might overhear and be upset.

The two sisters whispered to each other holding the little baby. At first, the baby listened with his ears perked up, but the voices grew so soft that he eventually fell asleep.

When Qin Mu and Mu Yichen left, it was almost dinner time, and Qin Mu couldn’t help but ask on the way: ”Can you smell it? Do I smell like milk?”

Mu Yichen drove for a while and then parked in a small alley, unbuckling his seatbelt.

Since it had been a few minutes, Qin Mu was a bit confused: ”What are you doing?”

”Didn’t you ask me to smell it?”

Mu Yichen leaned over, unbuckled her seatbelt, and pinned her to the seat.

Instantly, the spacious car felt like a soft big bed, and then...

——

It was already dinner time, and Feng Fanghua glanced at the time, angrily saying: ”Give me a phone, I’ll call them, and ask if they’re coming back for dinner!”

”Better not to ask. Maybe they got held up at the Qin Family’s house. Calling might not be good.”

Mu Zihao said to her.

”Who knows if they’re at the Qin Family or enjoying a candlelight dinner somewhere. They’re not even giving us a heads-up.”

Feng Fanghua grumbled unhappily; she hated it when the couple said they’d come back for dinner but didn’t.

”Alright, alright! They’re young, why complain about them? They’ll come back after they’re done eating outside!”

Grandpa couldn’t bear listening to his daughter-in-law constantly complain about the young couple.

”Grandma, my brother and I will keep you company for dinner!”

Huanhuan saw that Grandma was unhappy, and neither Grandpa nor Great-Grandpa were comforting her, so she sensibly spoke to her.

Feng Fanghua was feeling stifled from being lectured by the father and son duo, but after hearing her granddaughter, she immediately cheered up.

”Grandma’s darling granddaughter knows how to love Grandma best.”

”Grandma, I love you too!”

Chengcheng had his mouth stuffed with rice but couldn’t help expressing his feelings.

”Alright! Grandma believes you, so let’s not bother with those two little rascals and start eating first!”

Actually, everyone had already picked up their chopsticks at the table, except her. After saying ’Let’s start eating,’ she turned around to see the two men beside her were already eating and smiled helplessly.

Two hours later, the pair arrived late, only to hear Feng Fanghua lecturing in the living room: ”Why are you two even coming back? If you have the guts, don’t come back! You said you’d come back for dinner, and it’s dinner now, but what time is it?”

Qin Mu didn’t dare speak, Mu Yichen cleared his throat, approached, and seeing Feng Fanghua’s stern expression, cautiously said: ”The car broke down on the way.”

”The car broke down? Who are you fooling? If the car broke down, why didn’t you call?”

Feng Fanghua raised her eyes to glare at her son and questioned him.

”Well, what do you think the reason is?”

Mu Yichen put his hands in his pockets, looking at Feng Fanghua with an expression of helplessness and good-naturedly asking.

Feng Fanghua...

The father and son on the sofa didn’t know what to say; the mother-son dispute wasn’t new, nor was Feng Fanghua scolding her son. Grandpa merely cleared his throat appropriately, indicating to end the topic.

”Have you two had dinner yet?”

The kitchen was tidy, and the siblings were already washing up for bed under the aunt’s care; Mu Zihao thought they must have eaten by now and switched topics.

”Not yet! I’ll see what else there is to eat.”

Mu Yichen answered quietly, glanced at his father, and then looked at Feng Fanghua, waiting for her approval.
