His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1958: Chapter 561: His Time, Qin Mu Decides (2)

This meeting felt like a reunion after a long separation.

Yang Qin lowered her eyes to look at her work and sat down again. At work, she likes to focus seriously on each task at hand.

A few minutes later, she carried the documents to find Mu Yichen, reporting today’s schedule to him, and then placed the documents requiring his immediate signature in front of him.

While Mu Yichen was scanning the documents, he asked, ”Recovered?”

”Hmm! Thank you, boss, for your concern!”

Yang Qin’s eyes slightly moved upon hearing this, responding professionally.

”Cancel this afternoon’s schedule for me, and also, move all evening engagements this week to noon. If they can’t make time, forget it!”

Mu Yichen nodded, signing the document and handing it back to her.

If they can’t make time, forget it?

What does that mean?

Yang Qin hesitated for a moment, but the next moment she felt anger at her hesitation, immediately taking the document: ”Yes!”

But when she reached the door, she turned her head: ”Boss, you said earlier that afternoons would no longer be solely set aside, so now it’s...”

”Now, your boss’s afternoon schedule is entirely decided by your boss’s wife.”

Mu Yichen clasped his hands together, scanning her with sharp eyes.

Yang Qin felt as though something had struck her hard, loudly, and nodded silently: ”Understood!”

Seeing her finally understand, Mu Yichen lowered his head to work again. After Yang Qin went out, she blinked her eyes several times.

She couldn’t quite understand, does the rise and fall of such a large listed company rest entirely on one woman’s shoulders?

Someone like Mu Yichen, how could he tie his career to a woman?

Yang Qin found it unbelievable, her brows furrowing instinctively, but she still promptly went to reschedule his engagements.

Xi Meng said, she used to do such things often.

Xi Meng also said, this couple is always unpredictable, the secretaries’ main task is just to carry out the boss’s instructions.

The morning quickly passed. At noon, Qiao Yi and Mu Yichen went downstairs to the restaurant for lunch, where they saw Yang Qin eating alone, their table coincidentally not far behind hers. So Qiao Yi went over to greet her: ”Secretary Yang, alone?”

”Boss, Qiao, you came to eat here too!”

Yang Qin stood up to greet them.

”Yes!”

Mu Yichen casually glanced at the food on her table, it was very plain, but he didn’t comment, just said quietly, ”I’ll go order first!”

Seeing Mu Yichen leaving, Qiao Yi didn’t try to stop him, only glanced at Yang Qin’s lunch: ”This is too simple, isn’t it? You’ve just recovered, you should nourish yourself well.”

Yang Qin also lowered her head briefly: ”I’ve been nourishing myself at home these past few days, and it’s just a minor surgery, no need to make a fuss.”

Her words were approachable, so Qiao Yi nodded, placing a hand in his pocket: ”I’ll head over too; we can chat after work.”

”Okay!”

Yang Qin nodded.

After seeing them sit on the side near the wall, Yang Qin smiled lightly, knowing she shouldn’t disturb them further, paid the bill, and left with her bag.

After watching Yang Qin leave, Qiao Yi leaned closer to Mu Yichen and said, ”This woman is really something special!”

”Are you trying to manage her?”

Mu Yichen lifted his eyes slightly to look at him.

Qiao Yi...

Yes! He can’t even manage Xi Meng alone, let alone others.

”I certainly don’t want to manage her, just idle talk! I really want to ask her, if someone offered her a sum of money, not twenty thousand, two hundred thousand, or even twenty million, to leave our company, would she go?”

Qiao Yi’s casual remark was met by Mu Yichen saying, ”You can find someone to test that.”

Hearing this, Qiao Yi curiously asked, ”You don’t want to use her anymore?”

”I don’t not want to use her, wasn’t it you who mentioned it?”

Mu Yichen said, lowering his intertwined long legs, and after the wine was served, he picked up the wine glass and swirled the red liquid inside.

”Alright then! But I’ve been discussing with Zhao Huai about finding someone to pursue her.”

Qiao Yi confessed what he was up to with Mu Yichen.

Mu Yichen lifted his eyes, ”Don’t take it too far, she’s not someone who likes jokes.”

”Okay!”

Qiao Yi nodded, understanding Mu Yichen was okay with it.

”Yichen, this female secretary, what’s the score you’ve given her in your mind?”

Qiao Yi had pondered for a long time and finally asked today.

Mu Yichen thought for a moment: ”Eighty.”

”That high? And my wife?”

”Ninety-nine!”

Mu Yichen took a sip of his wine.

Qiao Yi...

”Then what’s my score?”

Qiao Yi was really curious, how could the scores for these two women be increasingly higher? He thought surely as a close friend and right-hand man, he’d be higher than eighty, aiming for a perfect hundred.

”Failing!”

Mu Yichen gave him a glance and cheekily answered.

Qiao Yi...

”That’s so illogical, Xi Meng got ninety-nine, how can I be failing? No way should I score lower than Yang Qin!”

Qiao Yi protested for justice.

”Yang Qin is my employee, whereas you are about to not be!”

Mu Yichen explained the reasoning.

Qiao Yi understood and had no more to say.

”Then let me ask you, how many points does Qin Mu score in your mind? Don’t say a hundred, that’s too fake!”

Qiao Yi, with a hint of challenge in his eyes, reminded Mu Yichen.

”As a lover, she scores failing!”

Mu Yichen considered and answered honestly.

Qiao Yi had just picked up his wine, fortunately, he hadn’t drunk it yet, or he’d have surely sprayed it out.

”Failing, haha! I’m going to tell Qin Mu, let her know she actually scores failing in your heart, hahaha.”

Qiao Yi laughed and slapped the table.

Mu Yichen remained composed, chuckling lightly, sipping his wine, the flavor not quite mature yet, but so was the person before him, combined with a good mood today, he indulged in the drink.

In the afternoon, Mu Yichen went to the office, but left before three.

Yang Qin was about to bring him coffee, but as she reached his door and hadn’t yet knocked, it opened, leaving her puzzled as she looked at him: ”You’re...?”

”Going out! No need for coffee! Thank you!”

Mu Yichen caught the aroma, glanced briefly at the coffee she held, and then left.

Yang Qin instinctively watched his departing figure until he left that floor, still standing by his office door.

Leaving this early?

Is the boss’s wife summoning him?

Yang Qin looked down at the coffee in hand, remembering the doctor’s advice to avoid coffee recently, contemplating this, she returned the coffee and poured it away.

As the coffee flowed away, her stomach twisted in pain again.

It felt as though instead of coffee, her scalding blood was flowing out of the cup.

Her phone rang again, and she opened it to see an unfamiliar number. She placed the cup aside and answered the call: ”Hello, this is Yang Qin!”

”Miss Yang, shall we talk again?”

Recognizing the voice, Yang Qin smiled slightly: ”Sorry, I don’t have the time!”

After speaking, Yang Qin decisively hung up, while Zhang Hongyun’s car was still parked downstairs. After being hung up on, Zhang Hongyun was displeased and drove off from the office building a few minutes later.

——

Mu Yichen drove to find Qin Mu because Qin Mu had a mild cold today. When he arrived at the studio, Qin Mu was lying on the sofa, holding her phone and scrolling through social media, just as Qiao Yi posted a strange update.
