His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1970: Chapter 565: Mrs. Mu Finally Reveals Her Feelings (Part 2)

But where is he now? It’s already been an hour, the sky is completely dark, and he still hasn’t come.

Just as she was burying her head in distress, her phone suddenly rang in her arms. Startled, she hurriedly lifted it up, but...

It was Feng Fanghua.

She answered weakly: ”Hello, Mom!”

”Why aren’t you two back yet? Stayed somewhere else again?”

”The rain is a bit heavy; we’re having dinner near the apartment before heading back.”

Qin Mu suppressed her sadness and spoke to her as if everything was normal.

”You two are really...”

Feng Fanghua hung up angrily before finishing her sentence.

Listening to the buzz of the disconnected line, Qin Mu felt as if she’d fallen into hell.

Where could he possibly have gone?

The young man at the door saw her standing there for a while and approached to ask if she needed help. She shook her head, thanked him for his kindness, and after he left, she continued waiting, thinking she would surely wait for him to return.

Because he never lets her wait too long.

But her heart felt as though it was gradually falling into an unknown darkness. She no longer called him, she just waited silently.

This agony, she believed, Mu Yichen also bore.

After returning home, Qiao Yi called Mu Yichen, but no one answered. He muttered to Xi Meng: ”Qin Mu called me looking for Yichen. Isn’t it odd? Yichen left after playing basketball and told us he’d never let Qin Mu wait for him.”

”Then call Mu to ask.”

Xi Meng thought for a moment, sensing something was amiss.

”I called, but no one answered!”

Qiao Yi also became a bit anxious, but thinking of Mu Yichen, he knew not everyone could disturb him. Something must have come up, maybe he dropped his phone somewhere or it’s on silent and he doesn’t realize.

Later on, Qin Mu was on the verge of exhaustion from waiting, already sick, now drenched heavily.

She felt her hand holding the umbrella weaken, then she took out her phone to call Mu Yichen.

She felt Mu Yichen would definitely answer; enough time had passed.

”Hello?”

Indeed, the call was answered from the other side.

Qin Mu listened to the eerie silence on the other end, apart from his voice.

Excited, Qin Mu clutched her phone tightly; the umbrella dropped inadvertently from her shoulder as both hands gripped the phone tightly: ”Mu Yichen, where are you?”

”There’s a situation here. I probably need another hour before I can get there.”

”What... okay, okay! I’ll wait for you. Don’t worry!”

Qin Mu held the phone with both hands, afraid the phone would get damaged by the rain. She sensed a suppressed tone in Mu Yichen’s clean voice, aware he was certainly dealing with something. Knowing he was safe, she felt at ease, not daring to rush him, without any negativity, she agreed and hung up.

After calling ended, Mu Yichen lowered his gaze. At this time, his coat was off, his shirt sleeve was pulled down, and the blood on his arm was barely staunched.

The strong masculine pheromones made Yang Qin somewhat nervous. She had never been so close to a man, especially one whom she respected as her boss.

Yang Qin dared not speak, fearing she would interrupt his call with Qin Mu. But the warmth radiating from his sturdy body made her restless, yet because she was helping him bandage his wound, she dared not slacken.

Although the injury wasn’t severe, Yang Qin guessed it would definitely leave a scar. A man, injured while protecting her, would bear a scar because of her. She really didn’t know how to repay him.

She hadn’t expected him to save her; he could have ignored it, had no obligations or responsibilities. He could have acted coldly as people say, pretending not to see.

But she witnessed him in the heavy rain, like a deity appearing in her view, shielding her from those vile people, preserving her honor.

Thankfully, he had a medicine kit in his car, and fortunately, she attended first aid classes during school. But seeing him suffer such an injury for her, Yang Qin’s heart felt pained, unsure how to repay him.

”Just a minor injury, don’t worry about it.”

He looked at Yang Qin’s distressed face and thought she was scared, so he spoke to her.

Yang Qin shook her head vigorously, still not saying a word, just tightly wrapping the gauze around his left arm.

”Have you upset someone recently?”

Mu Yichen never guessed other women’s moods, directly asking the question he cared about.
