His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1892: Chapter 544: Subduing Mrs. Mu (Part 2)

”Hmm!”

Without any explanation, he drove away from the hotel.

——

Feng Fanghua stayed home with the children, and after Mu Zihao said a few words, she told him over the phone: ”If I don’t call tonight, do you believe that she would use work as an excuse and stay out until midnight?”

”But she’s really working!”

Mu Zihao good-naturedly reminded her.

”She just came back from abroad and is now working overtime again. What about our son? Anyway, I won’t interfere with her work, but if she dares to neglect our son again, as a mother-in-law, I won’t be as easy to push around as my son!”

Feng Fanghua looked elsewhere, thinking that she must make Qin Mu behave properly and never let Qin Mu torment Mu Yichen again.

”You’re not easy to push around; in this house, apart from Yichen, who dares bully you?”

Mu Zihao spread his hands, pondering, who has ever bullied his wife all these years? It’s their precious son, after all!

But the more the son bullies her, the more she treasures him as a mother.

When Mu Yichen and Qin Mu returned home, it coincidentally began to drizzle. As Mu Yichen prepared to open the car door, Qin Mu raised her hand to hold his arm close to her.

Qin Mu felt that she needed to discuss something with Mu Yichen. She couldn’t just abandon such a big responsibility; everyone was busy, and it wasn’t appropriate to come home so early.

”I really need to work overtime before the third,”

Qin Mu said to him earnestly, in a low voice.

Mu Yichen sat back, his dark eyes fixed intently on her, but he said nothing, waiting for her to continue.

”Mom calls me to return by dinner time, but you should know that everyone is busy at the hotel now. As JY’s boss, enjoying a cozy life at home, if you were me, could you do it?”

Qin Mu reasoned with him emotionally.

”Haven’t I always been doing that?”

Mu Yichen, without even furrowing his brows, gave a calm response, effectively shutting Qin Mu’s mouth.

Indeed, for this family, he had handed over many important tasks.

Suddenly, Qin Mu stayed quiet, feeling a bit emotional, leaning back in her seat without speaking.

Mu Yichen sighed: ”Just go if you want! I’ll explain to Mom!”

Mu Yichen’s voice was low, but his mood was clearly upset. After speaking, he pushed open the car door and walked out.

The drizzle outside landed on his shirt as Qin Mu stubbornly watched him, realizing after a while that she was still in the car, she then pushed open the door to follow him.

Feng Fanghua noticed they came in one after the other, understanding they must have talked outside. Seeing Qin Mu enter, she posed coolly on the sofa: ”You just don’t want to come home?”

Qin Mu felt puzzled, thinking Mu Yichen must have complained to Feng Fanghua, and instinctively looked at the man standing nearby.

”She’s working, I don’t say anything, why must you?”

Mu Yichen picked up his daughter, noticing Huanhuan’s dirty hands. After speaking, he carried Huanhuan to the bathroom.

Feng Fanghua was choked by his words, as if something was caught in her throat, and Qin Mu became tense all over, Mu Yichen’s words like a ticking bomb.

Qin Mu instinctively looked at Feng Fanghua, quickly smiling: ”Mom, don’t listen to him, I will surely be home on time every day! I promise!”

Qin Mu spoke, raising two fingers to make a pledge.

Feng Fanghua was truly furious, thinking her daughter-in-law might have complained to her son, making him restrain her. Seeing Qin Mu suddenly so earnest in making that promise, she calmed down a bit.

Yet inside, Qin Mu felt extremely bitter.

Mu Yichen had done that on purpose!

He wasn’t really making it hard for his mom; he was clearly bullying his wife.

However...

Qin Mu accepted her fate, thinking that being part of a family meant appeasing Feng Fanghua was crucial. Her big, dark eyes looked at the woman sitting on the sofa, she then went over to sit beside her: ”Mom!”

”Move away!”

Feng Fanghua coldly sent her away as she attempted to act spoiled.

”Don’t be mad anymore! Dad is watching!”

Qin Mu raised her hand to massage her shoulders, playfully smiling at Mu Zihao, seeming to reach some understanding. Mu Zihao left the room with his phone, leaving just Feng Fanghua and Qin Mu in the living room.
