His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1864: Chapter 537: Why Not?

Qiao Yi understood that since they had met, it would be difficult to shake them off, so he thought he might as well pass the time: ”Alright, you two, follow me!”

Qiao Yi agreed, walking ahead with Zhao Huai, and as Zhao Huai entered the elevator, he tilted his head and whispered to Qiao Yi: ”What did Yichen say?”

”Let’s just play along for now, together!”

Qiao Yi whispered back to him.

Upon hearing this, Zhao Huai immediately got the hint and maintained just the right distance from him.

Boss Cong and Zhang Hongyun were also whispering in the back, naturally explaining something to Zhang Hongyun, who listened attentively, appearing very cooperative.

For Zhang Hongyun, being able to enter Qiao Yi’s office was already a first step towards getting closer to Mu Yichen.

After bringing them to the office, a helper soon came to serve tea. Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai sat diagonally across from them, with Qiao Yi looking at Boss Cong and then at Zhang Hongyun, unable to resist a chuckle: ”Didn’t Miss Zhang used to fancy our Yichen? I didn’t expect your taste to be so mature now!”

As soon as Qiao Yi spoke, Zhang Hongyun became tense, and after hearing this, her face turned completely green.

”Brother Qiao, you still love to joke like before!”

But she quickly resolved it with ease.

Qiao Yi glanced at her, considering it a response, then looked towards Boss Cong: ”Aren’t our contracts still not expired?”

”It’s because Yichen has already found a new partner ahead of time! Why, didn’t you know?”

Boss Cong sighed as he spoke, then curiously looked at Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai.

”Did Boss Cong learn about some inside information in advance?”

Zhao Huai asked curiously; the two of them were unaware that Boss Cong met Mu Yichen at AM yesterday.

”I went to eat yesterday and coincidentally ran into President Mu, otherwise I wouldn’t have come over so early today just to find out he’s not here.”

Boss Cong explained the situation, and Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai exchanged a knowing glance.

”Our President Mu is indeed very busy, especially recently. So, does Boss Cong have any good ideas to share with us? We could mention it to President Mu!”

Qiao Yi added.

”That would be perfect. That’s exactly my intention, you two young masters’ relationship with President Mu is widely known in Rongcheng. With you speaking on my behalf... Of course, I will make sure you brothers are well rewarded, I can vouch for that.”

As Boss Cong spoke, he suddenly remembered that they wouldn’t help for no reason, and he immediately patted his ample chest to assure Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai.

”We brothers won’t betray our leader for a little benefit, but if Boss Cong has any good ideas, we won’t hesitate to mention them to President Mu. Let’s get down to business first!”

Zhao Huai, sitting on the sofa and playing with his phone, glanced sharply at Boss Cong and said casually, as he always disliked fake smiles with outsiders.

”Great! Let’s have a good talk then!”

Boss Cong leaned forward, seriously discussing his ideas with Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai, while Zhang Hongyun sat listening, but her mind was solely on one thing—Mu Yichen. Finally, she had a reason to enter this office building again, but when could she go upstairs to talk to him in his office?

Thinking about it carefully, it seemed they hadn’t had a proper conversation before, which saddened Zhang Hongyun a little.

Qiao Yi occasionally shifted his gaze to her face, noticing she was entirely out of it, not understanding how she managed as a secretary. Not only did she not help her boss with anything, but she also seemed absent-minded, lacking any professional demeanor.

”This matter is entrusted to you two!”

When it came time to part, Boss Cong stood up, sincerely entrusting them with the task.

Qiao Yi’s phone rang, and he fumbled it out of his pocket, seeing it was Yichen, and answered directly: ”I’m chatting with Boss Cong now, coming over right away!”

Mu Yichen hung up without a word; Boss Cong didn’t know who Qiao Yi was talking to, because Qiao Yi’s tone didn’t sound like he was talking to his boss.

But when the three of them spoke, they never had to be so formal; it was straightforward.

”So, Boss Cong, no matter the outcome, someone from our side will contact your company in some time, so there’s no need for you to come back again!”

Zhao Huai said to Boss Cong.

”Alright! Let’s stay in touch at all times, is that okay?”
