His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1876: Chapter 540: Passing By

When Qin Mu was leaving with a client, Mu Yichen and Yang Qin happened to enter from another door.

After seeing the client off, Qin Mu went upstairs, deciding not to go out again today. She didn’t have any feelings for this city, nor did she have the mood to enjoy the scenery. She decided to take a bath, then close the curtains and sleep until it was time to board the plane.

——

Passing by each other, or meeting, or parting.

As if it was freely arranged by fate.

After taking a bath, Qin Mu wore a robe she brought from home. For some reason, she could smell the fresh scent of Mu Yichen’s cologne. Looking at the ceiling, she couldn’t help but slowly lift her arms, hugging herself bit by bit.

It was as if she was embracing Mu Yichen.

The next morning, Qin Mu rushed out without even eating breakfast. Yang Qin came out of her room and knocked on Mu Yichen’s door. As she raised her hand, she inadvertently glanced at the doorway not far away, watching Qin Mu’s light figure carrying her bag and walking further and further away.

Yang Qin’s heart inexplicably trembled, and she knocked harder.

Qin Mu entered the elevator. Yang Qin had never met Qin Mu, but she felt it must be Qin Mu. From before, in the newspapers, or the news, or any advertisement, she had a vivid impression of her boss’s woman.

Mu Yichen came to open the door, towel-drying his head after a bath, feeling irritated by the knocking.

Yang Qin saw him finally open the door and excitedly murmured, ”I saw...”

Before she could finish her sentence, the elevator door opened again. Qin Mu had forgotten her phone, hurried back, and as she looked up, maybe because she was too tired, her eyesight had been poor recently, but she still saw someone watching her, still saw the man poking his head out and looking her way.

Mu Yichen.

And who was the other one? The woman standing in the doorway in formal attire, who was she?

Qin Mu didn’t have time to think much, her legs felt like they were nailed in place and couldn’t move.

Mu Yichen stared at Qin Mu with a blank expression until Yang Qin realized she was unnecessary: ”I’ll go back first!”

Mu Yichen didn’t say anything. After Yang Qin left, Qin Mu slowly walked forward; they were only four rooms apart.

Qin Mu was still holding her room card, but at this moment, she didn’t know whether to go forward, or just open the door, go in, take her phone, and leave, pretending as if she hadn’t met him.

Mu Yichen stood at his door, seemingly not intending to look for her either. Qin Mu lowered her head, walked to her door, and slowly opened her room door.

At this moment, she thought, it wouldn’t matter if she didn’t say hello.

After all, he was wearing a robe and standing at the door with a woman, without any sign of tension.

She took her phone, but hesitated to go out.

Was she scared in her heart?

No! How could she be scared?

She gently touched her chest. It hadn’t been long since they met, so why did she suddenly feel so unfamiliar?

Was it because of Dad?

Or because of the woman beside him?

How could he be in London?

Before she came to London, he was still in Rongcheng.

Qin Mu couldn’t make sense of it, thought for a while, then felt a headache coming, so she simply carried her bag and continued outward.

She didn’t have the courage to greet him but when she closed the door and didn’t immediately let go of the doorknob, she felt that there seemed to be no one there anymore, so she couldn’t resist glancing that way.

Sure enough, he was no longer there.

Qin Mu’s heart calmed down a bit, thought for a moment, and turned her head to leave.

Only when she waited for the elevator, after entering, did another person squeeze into the elevator.

Yang Qin entered, nodded to Qin Mu first, Qin Mu only slightly lifted her eyes, remaining silent.

”Ma’am, I’m Mu’s acting secretary, my name is Yang Qin. If you’re familiar with Xi Meng and Qiao Yi, you might have heard about me from them.”

Yang Qin was afraid Qin Mu would misunderstand, so she kept waiting to explain.

Only then did Qin Mu look up at her again, Yang Qin confidently nodded to her.

”The boss suddenly asked me to arrange a business trip to Paris for him. Both Xi Meng and I were curious about the reason. The moment I saw you, I think I understood everything!”

Yang Qin smiled at her, hoping she wouldn’t misunderstand.

Upon hearing this, Qin Mu suddenly felt less oppressed, but instead, let out a helpless laugh.

”Sorry, I misunderstood you earlier!”

Qin Mu smiled, looked down at her feet and quietly apologized.

Yang Qin didn’t expect Qin Mu to be so candid and felt a bit embarrassed.

”It’s okay. It’s human nature, and it also proves that you care about the boss. But, are you just going to leave like this without saying goodbye to the boss?”

”I’m in a hurry to get back to Paris, I’ll wait until I return to Rongcheng!”

Qin Mu softly said to her.
