His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1878: Chapter 540: Passing by Each Other

But before leaving, she felt a bit guilty. His reassignment to return home was somewhat biased, and now Mu Yichen was taking such good care of her. For a moment, she was both touched and apologetic; she hadn’t expected her boss to be so compassionate, despite rumors that he was cold and unfeeling.

On the day Yang Qin returned, Xi Meng was already waiting for her and accompanied her to the hospital.

”Mr. Mu instructed me to accompany you to meet the director. The director will likely perform the surgery on your grandmother, so you shouldn’t be too nervous.”

Xi Meng was about the same age as Yang Qin, so they spoke without much effort.

”Xi Meng, do you know how I feel about returning this time? Honestly, the boss made me very moved!”

Yang Qin said to Xi Meng, her head lowered, sitting in the passenger seat.

”The boss is human, not cold-blooded. When Qiao Yi and I have issues, he has never stood idly by.”

Xi Meng worried that Yang Qin might be confused, so her tone carried a bit of detachment.

Yang Qin nodded: ”Yes! I can see he really is a good person, not as heartless as the rumors say. By the way, I also met his wife. Are they completely out of touch now?”

”You met Qin Mu?”

Xi Meng turned her head in confusion to glance at her, then continued driving carefully.

”Yeah! I did, and I suspect the boss went to London just to see his wife. But, for some reason, even though they saw each other, neither went to greet the other; they just turned away.”

Yang Qin was quite puzzled; Xi Meng said their relationship was good, but she couldn’t see it at all.

”Sigh! I’m not in a position to say much about their cold war, but you just need to remember one thing: Mr. Mu will never give up on Qin Mu.”

Xi Meng also felt resigned listening to Yang Qin. Over the years, she has seen them separate and reunite countless times, but in the end, Mu Yichen always compromised and went to find Qin Mu.

This time, they’ve been apart for a shorter period, right?

If they were apart longer, Mu Yichen definitely couldn’t resist going to her.

Xi Meng hoped they would reconcile soon.

After arriving at the hospital, Xi Meng and Yang Qin went straight to the elevator, which opened to reveal Helian Hao inside.

Helian Hao was surprised to see the two together: ”Xi Meng, are you not feeling well again?”

Helian Hao glanced at Xi Meng then at Yang Qin. She remembered Yang Qin but didn’t understand why Xi Meng was with her, anxiously trying to figure it out.

”It’s not me; it’s Yang Qin’s grandmother who received a critical illness notice. Mr. Mu instructed me to bring her to meet the director, hoping the director would personally perform the surgery.”

Helian Hao listened and nodded: ”The director just finished a meeting and should be back in the office. You should hurry there; I have something to attend to and will be in touch later!”

Xi Meng nodded to her, then took Yang Qin onto the elevator. Afterwards, Helian Hao anxiously made a call to Qin Mu, while Xi Meng spoke to Yang Qin in the elevator: ”She’s Helian Hao, also a young lady, and like a sister to Qin Mu.”

Yang Qin slightly nodded upon hearing this; she didn’t have a deep impression of these matters, as her main concern was ensuring her grandmother would be okay.

During this time, she had contacted relatives in Rongcheng. Of those her grandmother wanted to see, eight out of ten hadn’t come, readily agreeing on excuses: busy!

Former relatives...

In her heart, the only person she remembered was Mu Yichen. Thinking back to the lonely figure by the window the night before she left, she felt a bit heartache. The reason, she thought, was because he was the only one who was willing to help her when she returned to Rongcheng.

Lending her a car, lending her money, lending her people.

Yang Qin felt that having such a relationship between a secretary and a boss was truly extraordinary, and she was very grateful.

In the director’s office, the director courteously invited them to sit down and even inquired about Xi Meng’s health. After Xi Meng expressed her purpose, the director nodded and promptly arranged for Yang Qin’s grandmother’s medical records to be brought to the office and scheduled the earliest possible surgery.

Yang Qin was very moved, holding Xi Meng’s hand, words all caught in her throat, she gently embraced Xi Meng: ”Xi Meng, thank you!”

”It’s the boss’s orders, I couldn’t refuse. Just work hard and give back to the company!”

Xi Meng gently patted her shoulder and spoke to her.

Yang Qin replied: ”Yes! I understand!”

Xi Meng watched Yang Qin’s emotional expression and could only smile at her, though inwardly a bit tense.
