His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1868: Chapter 538: Return to the City (Part 3)

Helian Hao glanced at him: ”Then I’m not cooking, you do it!”

Jing Feng thought to himself, was I expecting you to cook for me? I was planning to tidy up and then cook for you.

——

Mu Yichen was having dinner at home with the old man. The old man told him: ”This afternoon, your wife sent me a video, so don’t expect anything tonight.”

Mu Yichen was already eating tastelessly. Hearing this, he could only sigh helplessly without wanting to speak.

”There’s only one person who can bring her back. Do you want to know who it is?”

The old man knew what his grandson was thinking, so he reminded him, hoping Mu Yichen would plead with him.

”Now, no matter who it is, they can’t bring her back. She just took over her mentor’s position, and it will be a good month before she can return.”

Mu Yichen understood that no one asking her would make her return.

”Is that so? So she’s really busy with work, not avoiding you?”

The old man was puzzled.

”Although sometimes she’s immature, she knows it’s meaningless to avoid me.”

Mu Yichen replied again.

”Ha, you think your wife is immature? Do you believe I’ll tell her that?”

The old man was bored at home, so if he didn’t tease him, there was nothing to do.

”Then you’re even more immature than her!”

Mu Yichen glanced up, speaking.

The old man...

However, Qin Mu really didn’t want to return originally. Xiaomei called to tell her she was about to sign a termination agreement.

At night, Qin Mu was drinking alone in a bar, a place she had been since she was twenty. Coming here now, her mindset was vastly different. Back then, she was filled with worries, but now, she had let go of everything.

She remembered that back then, her mind was full of Mu Yichen. Always thinking about when he would come on a business trip, when he would come to see her, even if it was a brief encounter.

But now, she wouldn’t have such unrealistic fantasies anymore. It was as if she already understood all his actions, and because of that understanding, she felt calm, although slightly suppressed.

”Qin Mu!”

Anna came to relax with friends. Seeing a familiar figure at the bar, she initially doubted her eyesight but still walked over uncontrollably, recognizing the person.

Qin Mu reflexively turned her head upon hearing a somewhat distant voice, then saw Anna.

”Didn’t expect it was really you. What are you doing in Paris? Alone?”

Anna spoke to her and then sat in the empty seat beside her.

”Some matters, alone!”

Qin Mu answered simply, with a slight smile.

”Ah! I heard about your dad. Please take care of yourself!”

Anna first stepped forward to give her a hug, then released her, looking at her with a very caring gaze, urging her.

”Thank you!”

Anna had just flown to Paris and saw the news about her father’s illness and passing en route.

Anna knew Qin Mu was quite aloof, so hearing this thank you didn’t seem strange but couldn’t help but smile at her: ”Will you stay in Paris for long?”

”I’m going back in a couple of days! How about you?”

”Oh, I’m here to attend a friend’s engagement party and out tonight to relax with friends!”

Anna said, waving towards the corner on Qin Mu’s left, and Qin Mu also smiled towards there as a greeting.

”Then you should stop chatting with me, I’ll be leaving after sitting for a bit, go be with your friends!”

Qin Mu spoke softly to her.

”Okay! But if you need anything you can still call me. Oh, you’ve blocked me, when you want to reach me, remove me from the blacklist, and call me!”

Anna showed no signs of anger, gently patted her shoulder, then left.

Qin Mu just sat there, had two more drinks, then left.

Thinking back, she realized she was quite petty before, considering what seemed like huge issues then, now seem insignificant.

On her way back driving, Qin Mu pondered whether she should visit the Mu Family before flying back.

After all, the child wasn’t home, Feng Fanghua and Mu Zihao were still at Mu Qingxin’s place.

But then, there’s Grandpa.

Qin Mu thought it over and decided to stay for a day. There’s Grandpa and Qin Mingzhu. That girl must be tired recently, and she wanted to check in on her and offer some reminders.

——

After the plane took off, she finally embarked on the journey back to the city.

Her plan for this trip back to the city didn’t include seeing Mu Yichen.
