His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1872: Chapter 539: An Extra Car at Home (Second Update)

”If you’re busy, then forget it!”

Qin Mingzhu said a bit sadly on the phone to Wang Huanyu. Qin Mu sat beside her, trying not to laugh at her sister’s unusually gentle demeanor.

”I ran into Grandpa and Brother-in-law at the hotel!”

Wang Huanyu mentioned to Mu Yichen.

The girl from the Qin Family suddenly looked at her sister, then instinctively covered the receiver: ”Huanyu said he met Brother-in-law at the hotel!”

”Tell Wang Huanyu not to notify him!”

Qin Mu instinctively responded.

Qin Mingzhu immediately nodded: ”Oh, oh, oh!”

After quietly communicating with Qin Mu, Qin Mingzhu released the receiver and said into the phone, ”If you can’t come back, that’s fine; my sister doesn’t want Brother-in-law to know she’s back. Keep it a secret, okay?”

Wang Huanyu instinctively glanced at Mu Yichen again, then hung up the phone.

As a result, during the subsequent meeting, Wang Huanyu found himself distracted several times.

During the break, Wang Huanyu went outside to smoke. After thinking for a while, he took out his phone: ”Do you want to come over to my place tonight for a sit?”

”Hmm? Did you dial the wrong number?”

Mu Yichen seriously looked at his phone again, confirming it was Wang Huanyu. This guy was actually inviting him over? Was he out of his mind?

”Are you sure you don’t want to come?”

Wang Huanyu asked again.

Mu Yichen furrowed his brow, smoked a cigarette in the restroom, then leaned against the door to relax. Looking up at the ceiling light, he said, ”If you have something to say, say it over the phone!”

”Forget it, then!”

Wang Huanyu hung up the phone, smoking a bit melancholically. However, thinking of how Mu Yichen might regret his decision tonight, he felt quite pleased. Over the years, Mu Yichen had always held the upper hand, making Wang Huanyu feel insignificant.

After hanging up, Mu Yichen was still puzzled, wondering if the mayor wanted to have a heart-to-heart talk with him.

When Wang Huanyu returned home, Qin Mu and Qin Mingzhu were still on the couch, eating snacks and watching TV. The house’s main lights were all off, only the dim lights casting a subtle glow around.

He gently placed his coat aside and watched Qin Mingzhu snuggling up to Qin Mu while watching TV. He suddenly remembered how she once said she would never be friends with Qin Mu. Yet, in just a few years, this little darling of his couldn’t do without Qin Mu.

”This person is just like Brother-in-law, cold as ice. Hey, do you think such men are kind of annoying?”

Qin Mingzhu curiously asked Qin Mu.

Qin Mu almost rolled her eyes, frowning as she looked at the male lead on the screen who loved the female lead to death but wouldn’t admit it. She thought, how could this guy be the same as Mu Yichen? Mu Yichen had said ”I love you” to her no less than a million times. In that respect, her Mu Yichen was unbeatable.

”Who calls their brother-in-law annoying? Have some manners!”

Qin Mu softly reprimanded her, her eyes still glued to the TV. She wondered how her husband would react when she returned, given she hadn’t informed him of her visit.

But right now, she really didn’t plan to meet him. Everything could be addressed later.

”I tried inviting Brother-in-law over tonight, but he declined!”

Wang Huanyu’s voice naturally blended into their conversation, as if he had been there all along.

The two women, holding snacks, turned to him with surprise. When did he arrive?

”When did you come back? I didn’t hear a thing!”

Qin Mingzhu excitedly grinned.

”Just now! You seemed so engrossed, I didn’t want to interrupt!”

Wang Huanyu smiled and walked over, sitting on the other side of Qin Mingzhu. Seeing the snacks in her arms, he said, ”I bought those over a month ago and you said you didn’t like them. What made you eat them today?”

”Hehe! I just wanted to snack with my sister!”

Qin Mu couldn’t help but take her snacks and move to the adjacent sofa. This spot used to be frequently occupied by Qin Haiming. However, she couldn’t stand watching those two flaunt their love any longer, feeling as if she was being overwhelmed by their affection.

”Not going back to the Mu Family tonight?”

Wang Huanyu naturally placed his hand behind Qin Mingzhu, half embracing her, and looked up at Qin Mu to ask.

”If I crash here for the night, you wouldn’t kick me out, would you?”

Qin Mu asked with doubt, thinking of herself as a huge third wheel, though the house had plenty of rooms.

”This is your home, you can come back anytime!”

Wang Huanyu smiled slightly and said to her.

Qin Mu believed he was being sincere, so she said no more, though she had lost interest in the TV.
