His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1735: Chapter 485: Sulking (Part 3)

Hmm! Just like his father when he’s working!

Mu Yichen had already started work, handling documents in the office. His phone received a WeChat image, and seeing that it was sent by his dear wife, he immediately put down the file and picked up the phone to look. When he noticed it was his son playing with someone else’s things, Mu Yichen was unwittingly attracted by the little guy.

They rarely send each other WeChat messages, sharing photos of the kids.

Mu Yichen felt a sense of unreality, as if it were a dream.

When did he get a son, and his son seems, quite good.

It seemed like just a turning of the head, Qin Mu had already returned for so many years, by his side enduring his torment, giving birth to his children.

Mu Yichen, with his elbow on the desk edge, held the phone in both hands and replied to Mrs. Mu: ”Where are you?”

Mrs. Mu: ”The drink shop next to the fashion store! The environment is quite nice!”

Mu Yichen: ”Looks good, got a new toy for our son?”

Mrs. Mu: ”Of course not! This belongs to the shop, he got bored and brought it over to play with. Luckily, the owner knows us, so they didn’t mind.”

Mu Yichen: ”Hmm! Then let’s visit often!”

Mrs. Mu: ”Mu always gets his way!”

Mu Yichen chuckled, put down the phone, and continued reading the documents. Meanwhile, Qin Mu took a sip of orange juice, unsweetened, a bit sour.

Qiao Yi took materials from downstairs to the top floor, first catching sight of the secretary’s working area next to the CEO’s office; his wife was working diligently.

Xi Meng heard the sound, lifted her eyes also to see her husband. However, she seemed uninterested, lowered her head, and worked seriously again.

”Every time I come to the rooftop, you never greet me!”

Qiao Yi walked over, grumbling.

”This is a place for work, how should I greet you?”

Xi Meng lifted her eyes looking at him, speaking in a way leaving him unable to argue.

”At home, would you then greet me?”

Qiao Yi held onto hope.

”Ha! Actually, Assistant Qiao can certainly greet your wife!”

Xi Meng smiled, kindly reminding him.

Qiao Yi helplessly sighed: ”Can I expect anything from you?”

”Yes! Perhaps when I’m in a good mood, I’ll greet you!”

Xi Meng said to him, yet lowered her head to work, not looking at him again.

”Is Mu in?”

”Yeah!”

Qiao Yi glanced at the office door, then walked over, knocked, and simply opened it himself.

Mu Yichen had just finished reading a file, his hand loosened, the document landed precisely on the desk, he stood in front, turned around, his indifferent gaze fell on Qiao Yi.

”Join me for lunch?”

Qiao Yi asked, handing him the material: ”Take a look at this, if there’s no problem, I’ll let the team execute it!”

”Hmm!”

Mu Yichen agreed, also taking the material seriously to review.

”Was that ’hmm’ agreeing to lunch or reviewing the material?”

Qiao Yi, not quite understanding, pulled out the nearby chair to sit, casually resting one hand on the backrest, another lightly pressing the armrest, watching Mu Yichen review the materials attentively.

”Both!”

Mu Yichen’s deep voice told him, still standing behind the desk.

”Sigh! So boring, Xi Meng ignores me, and you can’t be bothered to respond either. Starting work so early this year wasn’t the plan, thought working would hold some fun, turned out none at all!”

Qiao Yi sighed, lamenting.

”Losing interest in life so early? Don’t dwell on it!”

Mu Yichen lifted his gaze slightly, casting a look of indifference that made the viewer feel even less alive, though Qiao Yi surprisingly smiled after feeling hopeless.

”What’s Xiaomu up to? Haven’t seen her for ages!”

Qiao Yi asked.

Back when Qin Mu returned, Mu Yichen wanted to be with her, the one most opposed was Qiao Yi.

But now...

”She’s with the kids!”

Mu Yichen casually replied, like it was the most ordinary thing.

Yet, to the listener, it seemed unbelievable.

”Qin Mu dealing with kids? When did she become someone focused on kids, not her design sketches solitary reflection?”

Mu Yichen slightly lifted his eyes, understanding his sentiment that couldn’t eat the grapes and claimed they were sour.

After all, in recent years, when it comes to work, Xi Meng indeed ranked top in the office building, meaning she indeed hasn’t committed much effort in child-rearing.

But it seemed like a common issue, time spent with kids seemed less than that of the elders.

Mu Yichen gave a weary sigh and didn’t dwell further.

At noon, Mu Yichen, Qiao Yi, and Xi Meng had lunch together in their employee cafeteria, unexpectedly joined by Jiang Zhiyuan.

When Jiang Zhiyuan sat down, picking up his chopsticks, he immediately glared at Mu Yichen: ”Quick, tell me, what did Xiaomu say after seeing our chat last night?”

Qiao Yi had forgotten about this but Jiang Zhiyuan remembered clearly.

”What could she say? Just realized she had misplaced her trust!”

Mu Yichen slightly lifted his eyes, holding a wine glass on the table, coolly speaking to Jiang Zhiyuan.

”Huh? Misplaced trust? Didn’t you tell her we were joking? Jiang Zhiyuan is the one who trusts her most. She’s not someone easily swayed! Her heart is steadfast!”

Jiang Zhiyuan expressed his loyalty, Xi Meng curiously asked: ”Did Young Master Jiang do something unreliable?”

”My dear sister, I haven’t done anything unreliable, last night in the group chat, your husband was there too. Old Qiao, say, did I target Xiaomu?”

Jiang Zhiyuan lifted his eyes, showing allegiance to Qiao Yi.

”I went to sleep later, didn’t know what you guys talked about!”

Qiao Yi appeared quite innocent.

Jiang Zhiyuan...

Xi Meng glanced at Qiao Yi, she knew the young masters had a group chat, but truly didn’t know what was discussed, usually wouldn’t touch Qiao Yi’s phone.

”Old Qiao, how could you say that? We’re closer than brothers!”

Jiang Zhiyuan originally hoped more people would speak kindly of him in front of Qin Mu, thinking if he ever argued with An Nan, he’d need Xiaomu’s support.

”Alright! Qin Mu knows you well enough to understand you speak without heart.”

Mu Yichen saw Jiang Zhiyuan so agitated and finally spoke out of goodwill.

Jiang Zhiyuan felt touched: ”Brother Chen, you really mean it, Xiaomu won’t hold it against me?”

”Hmm!”

Mu Yichen responded in a rather exasperated tone.

”Ah! My heart can finally settle, let’s eat!”

Jiang Zhiyuan patted his chest, then immediately began eating.

Xi Meng quietly ate her bowl, watching Jiang Zhiyuan still like a big boy, finding him quite amusing.

——

Before dark, Mu Yichen walked out of the office building, holding car keys, wearing a coat heading out.

The 27th of the first month, suddenly snowflakes began to fall from the sky, he dug out his phone from his pocket, dialing Mrs. Mu’s number.

”Where are you?”

”Almost home!”

Qin Mu responded, glancing at the little one in the child seat at the back, with toys bought by Helian Hao, still enthusiastically playing with them.

”See you at home!”

Mu Yichen replied.

”Hmm! Why do I feel you have something to tell me? All mysterious!”

Qin Mu replied to him, then couldn’t help but chuckle, muttering.

Mu Yichen didn’t expect Qin Mu to be so sensitive, didn’t respond, hung up and went to the parking lot, driving home.
