His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1718: Chapter 481: The Beginning and the End (26)

Qin Mu opened the door and finally breathed a sigh of relief.

”This late?”

”I couldn’t sleep alone, so I came over. Just asked at the nurse’s station, there’s an empty room available, we can use it for the night.”

The two whispered outside the door.

——

Mu Yichen was annoyed because she insisted on taking the child to another room. Mu Yichen was not pleased; normally at home, he wouldn’t allow their own children to sleep in their bed, let alone someone else’s child.

Qin Mu even put the little baby between them, making Mu Yichen even more displeased. He reached out and moved the little one to the side, then firmly hugged Qin Mu in his arms.

”Hey!”

Qin Mu called out to him in a low voice, nervous to death.

”Chengcheng used to be like this, what does this kid want?”

Mu Yichen whispered in her ear, flipped over her, and unhappily questioned her.

Qin Mu looked at the cold gleam in his dark eagle-like eyes and didn’t dare say another word.

Luckily, the little baby wouldn’t roll over and fall off the bed anyway.

But...

Mu Yichen suddenly started moving his hands and feet, making Qin Mu stifle her voice nervously. The little one was sleeping soundly, but Qin Mu’s heart was in a constant state of panic.

”To the sofa, to the sofa!”

Qin Mu was desperately urging him, pinching his solid arm as he was about to cross the final barrier.

”No!”

Mu Yichen reluctantly brushed her off, continuing to kiss her neck.

”Please! Good husband!”

Qin Mu, enduring the teasing that was driving her crazy, pleaded with him.

You always have to be mindful of the influence around children!

Mu Yichen pressed Qin Mu down, his hand on the bed beside her head, casting a glance at the little one with displeasure, sighing. Then he looked back at the woman beneath him, seeing her just as uncomfortable as he was; only then did he feel a bit better, and carried her to the sofa.

”What a hassle, when are we leaving?”

Mu Yichen asked her softly while executing the move.

”In another week!”

Qin Mu thought to herself; although she didn’t have a definite date, she just wanted to wait until Xiao Wei was less frail so she could ask a colleague to look after Xiao Wei, then they could leave.

”Maximum a week, can’t wait longer!”

He cradled her hair with both hands as he spoke.

Qin Mu nodded.

They intentionally kept their voices down, afraid of waking the sleeping little one.

After their entanglement, they went back to bed, Qin Mu holding the small one, Mu Yichen holding Qin Mu.

The two men evidently slept well, but stuck in the middle, Qin Mu couldn’t sleep at all. When Mu Yichen knocked on Xiao Wei’s hospital room door, she thought Jian Yan had returned, but...

Opening the door, it was Mu Yichen!

She wasn’t unhappy to see Mu Yichen; Mu Yichen was her strongest support. But she wanted Jian Yan to return, to give those mother and child an explanation and herself a sense of belonging.

Jian Yan’s phone must have been lost, Qin Mu thought.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t ignore his phone for so long, nor ignore her messages without a word.

Without realizing it, she seemed to drift into a dream. The next day, a phone call startled her awake. Mu Yichen had already asked the nurse to take the baby to nurse, holding her phone, answering the call just as she woke up.

Qin Mu heard the soft footsteps, turned her head to see Mu Yichen walking toward her, then struggled to sit up: ”Whose phone call?”

”Jian Yan is back!”

”What?”

At the sound of Mu Yichen’s deep voice, Qin Mu felt as if she were dreaming, instinctively flinging the duvet aside, falling on the floor as she tried to get up.

Mu Yichen went over, squatted down to help her up, his eyes filled with indescribable anxiety.

”Say it again, Jian Yan is back?”

Qin Mu gazed up at Mu Yichen, eyes watering with excitement.

”Yes!”

Mu Yichen nodded.

The room fell quiet instantly, Qin Mu didn’t rush to climb up, suddenly feeling somewhat weak as her eyes dropped, tears streaming down, although her breath was very restrained.

Mu Yichen lifted her from the floor and placed her back onto the bed, sitting beside her, raising a hand to softly tidy her slightly disheveled hair.

——

When Jian Yan entered the hospital room, Xiao Wei was facing away at the door while nursing the baby, so she didn’t realize Jian Yan was back.

”Qin Mu, have you noticed, doesn’t the baby smile more like Jian Yan?”

While nursing her son, Xiao Wei softly asked from behind, thinking Qin Mu had gotten up, believing Qin Mu would surely come to this room first.
