His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1710: Chapter 479: The Beginning and the End (24)

”Do you want to buy anything else? Go buy it yourself!”

Mu Yichen said expressionlessly, his voice completely perfunctory to the person on the other side of the call.

Qin Mu and Xiao Wei listened nearby, Xiao Wei glanced at Qin Mu curiously, and Qin Mu smiled slightly, indicating there was no need to mind.

After Mu Yichen hung up, he put the phone to his side and then turned to the woman beside him: ”I ordered some dishes without waiting for you guys. If they’re not suitable, feel free to order something else.”

The waiter started serving dishes behind him, and the two women sat quietly, watching the dishes Mu Yichen ordered. Xiao Wei actually felt fine, but Qin Mu worried she might not like it, so she turned and asked, ”Is there anything you particularly want to eat?”

”Apart from a poor appetite, I’m not picky about food!”

Xiao Wei joked.

Qin Mu smiled helplessly, while Mu Yichen didn’t get the joke.

As the three of them ate together, the two women kept chatting, and Mu Yichen couldn’t join the conversation. Hearing certain things felt like piercing his heart with needles.

”When I was pregnant with my daughter, my biggest wish was to get a big house. You too, when the baby is born, just don’t live where you’re living now. Move directly to Master’s place!”

Qin Mu chatted with her.

”Move to your Master’s place? I can’t even imagine him coming home to find more people there...”

Just hearing Qin Mu talk about it made Xiao Wei nervous.

”There were various news reports about you having a baby recently, so what is there not to imagine? Even if he’s surprised, he won’t be scared to death. Besides, he’s a very stable person. I guess when he sees you and your son, he’ll feel tumultuous inside but appear calm outside. Just wait and see!”

Qin Mu said to Xiao Wei, and Qin Mu could even imagine the scene: Jian Yan coming home, opening his door to see the mother and child inside, capturing the moment with his first glance. Qin Mu felt she had envisioned it accurately.

Listening to how well his wife understood Jian Yan, Mu Yichen reflexively glanced at Qin Mu.

Xiao Wei, however, glanced at Mu Yichen and then whispered in Qin Mu’s ear: ”Your husband is jealous!”

Qin Mu blinked slightly and whispered back, ”Even when you’re with me, he’s jealous!”

Xiao Wei...

The title of ’Jealous King’ isn’t something just anyone can bear. Only someone like Mr. Mu, who gets jealous whenever his wife is with anyone or anything, could handle that title.

”Ahem!”

Mu Yichen cleared his throat a bit, feeling as if they were badmouthing him, even though their voices were low.

Qin Mu looked up at him, smiling radiantly.

Instantly, Mu Yichen’s little feelings vanished, his heart filled with warmth, dispelling any negative thoughts.

Her smiles were rare throughout the year, and Mu Yichen just watched her, feeling this kind of smile was precious and worth cherishing.

Qin Mu lowered her head to chat with Xiao Wei again, and Mu Yichen couldn’t hear their conversation later, only seeing the warm smile on his wife’s face. Her lifted corner of the mouth melted his usually cold heart.

After lunch, Xiao Wei took a cab back to their temporary residence for a rest, while Qin Mu and Mu Yichen held hands and casually strolled through the streets of Paris.

The white pigeons in the square were startled by a child’s sudden dash, taking flight as if carrying people’s aspirations.

Mu Yichen had one hand in his pant pocket while holding Qin Mu’s hand firmly with the other. He suddenly stopped to watch the flock of pigeons soaring.

They never flew too far and soon settled there again.

Qin Mu wore a backpack, watching the pigeons settle, then looked up at the much taller man beside her: ”Why don’t they fly away?”

”What do you think?”

Mu Yichen didn’t answer, instead, he asked her.

Qin Mu chuckled softly: ”Could it be they’ve made this place their home?”

Mu Yichen did not answer because they might call this home, but his wife couldn’t.

Though Qin Mu didn’t get a reply, she felt her hand squeezed a bit tighter, and the two of them continued walking.

The weather was a bit gloomy, but it didn’t affect their relaxed mood.

Later, they sat outside a café, ordered two coffees, and when Mu Yichen went to the restroom, Qin Mu heard her phone ring and received a call from Rongcheng.
