His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1716: Chapter 480: The Beginning and End (25)_3

”She just went in for a bit, it’ll probably be a long time! But she’s really nervous, what should I do?”

”I think you’re even more nervous than she is!”

Mu Yichen looked down at his wife, thinking how someone else’s childbirth made her so tense.

Qin Mu couldn’t help but glance at the delivery room door, then turned to Mu Yichen: ”I want to go in and be with her!”

”Are you sure?”

”Hmm!”

Qin Mu nodded.

Mu Yichen didn’t stop her. Qin Mu went in to accompany Xiao Wei. Xiao Wei, exhausted and nervous, was already sweating profusely, her face damp and indistinguishable between tears or sweat. Seeing Qin Mu enter, she burst into tears: ”Qin Mu, I’m so scared, what do I do? I’m afraid I can’t give birth!”

The doctor was busy on one side. Qin Mu walked up to her and held her hand, which Xiao Wei immediately gripped tightly.

Qin Mu glanced towards the doctor and then back at Xiao Wei.

”It’s indeed a bit tricky the first time, just listen to the doctor, I’ll stay here with you, don’t be afraid, just push as hard as you can!”

Qin Mu squatted by her bedside, continuously comforting her.

But who wouldn’t be scared giving birth the first time, Xiao Wei was also terrified. During the pregnancy, she only felt proud of herself for nurturing a new life, but now...

The delivery room echoed with her screams, wave after wave!

At 1:25 p.m., Xiao Wei delivered a baby boy. Qin Mu held the little one crying loudly, unsure if she was crying or laughing herself.

For some reason, she recorded a heart-wrenching video of Xiao Wei in the delivery room, thinking Jian Yan needed to see this.

If Jian Yan wouldn’t come back after seeing this, Qin Mu decided she wouldn’t care for this mentor anymore.

The issues between Jian Yan and Xiao Wei couldn’t all be blamed on Xiao Wei because Jian Yan did sleep with her, whether drunk or under other circumstances. In Qin Mu’s heart, Jian Yan always seemed so responsible; if he wouldn’t take responsibility for Xiao Wei, Qin Mu would be very disappointed.

When Xiao Wei was resting in the luxury ward, Qin Mu and Mu Yichen whispered beside her, holding the baby: ”We are so blessed to be able to hold a newborn baby!”

Mu Yichen looked up at his wife with gentle eyes after viewing the baby, as if saying, I’ve held newborns before, and you’ve held them too.

”We’ve never held someone else’s newborn baby, we’re the first to hold him!”

Looking into his dark eyes, Qin Mu couldn’t help but explain as if he was refuting her.

Qin Mu heard a shuffling sound on the bed, glanced over, and then handed the baby to Mu Yichen: ”Be careful, I’ll go check on Xiao Wei!”

Mu Yichen tucked the small baby securely in his arms, with one arm supporting him steadily while his other hand instinctively adjusted the blanket covering the baby’s mouth. Once he got a clear look at the little one, he suddenly smiled silently, noticing how much this little guy resembled his father!

”Is it a boy?”

Xiao Wei asked Qin Mu with a hoarse voice.

”Hmm! Looks a lot like Jian Yan!”

Qin Mu nodded while gently wiping the sweat from Xiao Wei’s forehead with a towel.

”He likes girls.”

Xiao Wei’s eyes suddenly reflected a sense of loss, though she forced a smile.

”He’ll like boys too!”

Qin Mu softly reassured her, knowing in her heart Xiao Wei was referring to Huanhuan. Everyone was aware of Jian Yan’s fondness for Huanhuan, but no one thought he didn’t like boys. Even if he didn’t prefer other people’s sons, he couldn’t possibly be indifferent to his own son. Qin Mu thought surely he would be too thrilled, barely containing his joy.

”Qin Mu, do you think he’s still alive?”

Unable to hold back anymore, Xiao Wei asked this in her most vulnerable moment.

Xiao Wei suspected Jian Yan might have collapsed somewhere outside, given his poor health and lack of self-care.

”Of course he’s still alive, he’s just on a solo journey!”

Qin Mu’s heart trembled intensely, her brows furrowing uncontrollably, but inside, Jian Yan seemed like a towering mountain to her, an individual capable of illuminating and warming those around him. How could such a capable person possibly be dead?

He’s still alive! He must be alive!

Mu Yichen, holding the baby, listened to the obstinate conversation of the two women behind him, sighed heavily in his heart, who could tell whether the guy was alive or dead. So many were sent out to find him, and all returned with nothing.
