Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 666: Chapter 665: Fatal Battle (Part 2)

Upon hearing the Third Commander’s words, the Second Commander remained silent. After a brief pause, the Third Commander added, ”When he’s on the verge of death, we’ll strike and kill him together.”

The reason the two Commanders had yet to act was that they were waiting for the opportune moment. Once Lin Yun had no strength left to fight, they would make their move and kill him.

Ignoring the two of them, Lin Yun focused all his attention on the Divine Palace Warriors who were trying to kill him.

It was the final battle. No one held back, no one showed mercy. Victory and defeat depended on their own strength. There was no room for luck, and no reinforcements would come.

Aside from Lin Yun, the other Demon Palace Warriors were also being swarmed by dozens of Divine Palace Warriors each. Just then, a Demon Palace Warrior, his entire left arm already hacked off, still clutched his Spirit Soldier tightly in his one remaining right arm. His eyes, fixed on the surrounding Divine Palace Warriors, were likewise filled with killing intent.

”Go to hell!” With a furious roar, several more Divine Palace Warriors attacked from different angles. Seeing this, the one-armed Demon Palace Warrior smirked coldly, standing his ground with no intention of dodging.

He allowed the Divine Palace Warriors’ longswords to pierce his body. At that exact moment, the Demon Palace Warrior swung the Spirit Soldier in his hand with all his might, cleaving the Divine Palace Warrior before him clean in two.

After felling a Divine Palace Warrior in a single strike, a crazed smile spread across his face as he swung his Spirit Soldier, slicing through the throats of the surrounding Divine Palace Warriors one by one.

Using the last of his strength, he killed several more Divine Palace Warriors before dying.

Just like the Divine Palace Warriors he had killed, his body tumbled down the mountainside. Even at the moment of his death, a smile lingered on his face.

Such scenes were common on the battlefield. Although there were only fifty-two Demon Palace Warriors, their Combat Power was far superior to that of the Divine Palace Warriors.

Coupled with the strength of their Spirit Soldiers, the Demon Palace Warriors had managed to endure the siege of dozens of Divine Palace Warriors for this long.

However, as the battle continued, the injuries on the Demon Palace forces grew heavier, and they gradually began to show signs of defeat. The Divine Palace Warriors seized upon this, and their assault on the Demon Palace forces became even more ferocious.

For a hundred people to face ten thousand and hold on for this long was already an incredible feat. But at this point in the battle, the Demon Palace Warriors were utterly exhausted. After fighting relentlessly for several hours without rest, they were not only physically worn down, but their spirits were stretched taut like a rubber band, ready to snap at any moment.

The situation for the Demon Palace forces grew increasingly perilous. Many of the Demon Palace Warriors were starting to falter. The Divine Palace Warriors, however, quickly seized this opportunity, intensifying their assault.

Lin Yun took in the entire scene. He knew he had to blunt the Divine Palace Warriors’ momentum. If this continued, his side would undoubtedly be defeated.

Throughout this battle, Lin Yun had already killed a hundred of the five hundred Divine Palace Warriors besieging him, but he himself was now also heavily wounded.

In his fight against the Divine Palace forces, Lin Yun had not activated his War God Transformation or the Demon Emperor’s Blood Pool.

Watching the Demon Palace Warriors falter one by one from exhaustion, Lin Yun began to formulate a plan. To blunt the Divine Palace’s momentum, his only option was to target the Third and Second Commanders.

But this time, the Second and Third Commanders seemed to have learned their lesson. They showed no intention of joining the battle, instead standing far from the fighting and silently watching it unfold.

Without revealing his intentions, Lin Yun fought the Divine Palace Warriors surrounding him while secretly closing in on the Second and Third Commanders.

He didn’t launch an all-out assault at first, but anyone paying close attention would notice his movements were consistently directed toward the Second and Third Commanders.

Lin Yun cut down every Divine Palace Warrior who came at him along the way. Gradually, the distance between him and the two Commanders began to shrink.

Noticing Lin Yun’s objective, the Third Commander looked at the battle below, a cold sneer on his lips, and said in an icy voice,

”They’re still just a hundred people. No matter how strong they are, they can’t possibly be a match for ten thousand men.”

Hearing the Third Commander’s words, the Second Commander merely nodded slightly without answering. In the Second Commander’s view, although the Demon Palace was showing signs of defeat, one had to remember that before this, the Divine Palace had sacrificed the lives of six thousand men just to wear down the Demon Palace forces’ stamina.

’Without that initial sacrifice,’ he thought, ’defeating the Demon Palace would still be incredibly difficult right now. To think that a mere hundred-man Demon Palace squad could kill six thousand of our Divine Palace Warriors and pin us down here for an entire day...’

The Third Commander paid no mind to the corpses on the slope, but the Second Commander noticed them. The bodies of Divine Palace Warriors lay scattered across the mountainside. The Second Commander found it almost unimaginable that all these men had been killed by just a hundred people.

The battle continued, and the Divine Palace’s advantage grew larger and larger. The Demon Palace Warriors had truly reached their Limit. Their wounds were getting heavier and heavier; it was a miracle they weren’t dead already.

After all, these Demon Palace Warriors were not Lin Yun. They did not possess a Flawless Flesh Body, let alone a physical body reforged by the Divine Ape Demon Core. Therefore, with such grievous injuries, they naturally couldn’t maintain their Peak Combat Power as Lin Yun could.

The Third Commander only focused on the scales of victory, which were gradually tipping in their favor. The Divine Palace Warriors now all saw a glimmer of hope and attacked the Demon Palace Warriors frantically. As for the Demon Palace Warriors, in the Third Commander’s eyes, they were merely putting up a desperate, final struggle.

However, the Third Commander had failed to notice that Lin Yun had already closed a significant amount of the distance to him and the Second Commander. Lin Yun was now only a hundred meters away.

Furthermore, only five Divine Palace Warriors remained in his path. Without anyone realizing, Lin Yun had quietly torn an opening in the Divine Palace Warriors’ encirclement.

Lin Yun’s gaze, cold and filled with killing intent, was fixed on the Second and Third Commanders. The Second Commander, who had been silently observing the battle, suddenly felt a murderous stare lock onto him.

Tracing the source of that killing intent, the Second Commander was stunned to see Lin Yun so close. He instantly knew this was bad. Lin Yun had somehow closed the distance to just a hundred meters without him even realizing it.

From the look in Lin Yun’s eyes, the Second Commander knew exactly what he was planning, but it was too late. All he heard was Lin Yun’s great shout, ”Little Ape!” 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
