Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 665: Chapter 664: Fatal Battle (Part 1)

The two sides stood facing each other. The morning sun slowly crept across the land. There was none of the usual morning fragrance of fresh grass. Instead, illuminated by the light, the hillside—the site of an entire night of slaughter—was already blanketed in corpses.

Thousands of corpses belonging to the Divine Palace Warriors lay scattered about. Their blood had stained the green prairie completely red. At this moment, the once-lush hillside had truly become a place akin to Hell.

Looking at the Second Commander and Third Commander, a bloodthirsty smile touched the corner of Lin Yun’s lips. The night of battle had not filled him with cowardice or fear. On the contrary, it had only further stoked his killing intent.

”Second Commander, is this the final battle?” Lin Yun asked with a light laugh. The killing intent in his eyes was like a pair of sharp swords, startling the Second Commander.

The Second Commander glanced at Lin Yun and the fifty-two Demon Palace Warriors behind him. His voice was cold as he asked, ”Lin Yun, do you really think you can stop our final charge in your current state?”

At these words, Lin Yun glanced at the Demon Palace Warriors to his left and right, a faint smile on his lips. ”How will we know if we don’t try?”

Even now, Lin Yun showed no intention of backing down. Far from diminishing, the Battle Intent in his heart blazed ever higher, like a wildfire sweeping across a prairie.

Hearing Lin Yun’s reply, the Second Commander gave him a long, hard look. ’This young man, so much younger than me, is truly the most remarkable person I have ever met.’

’Fiercely brave and brilliant in strategy, Lin Yun seemed capable of anything. He had a way of turning the impossible into reality.’

’Take using a hundred men to hold back ten thousand. Anyone else wouldn’t even dare to imagine it, yet Lin Yun not only imagined it, he did it. He had already achieved the impossible.’

’Holding us off for a full day and night, killing six thousand Divine Palace Warriors... What an astounding accomplishment.’

He felt a surge of admiration, but it didn’t change his decision. This was indeed the final battle. The Second Commander had to break through Lin Yun’s blockade and reinforce Qing Zhu.

”In that case, we fight. Kill...!” he roared, looking at Lin Yun. As the Second Commander’s cry to kill echoed, the Divine Palace Warriors charged furiously toward Lin Yun and his men.

These last four thousand Divine Palace Warriors were all in peak condition, completely unscathed. That was why the Second Commander had held them in reserve until the very end.

To use his strongest Combat Power to crush Lin Yun’s group when they were at their weakest.

Facing the charging Divine Palace Warriors, Lin Yun, Little Ape, the Black-striped Tiger, and the fifty-two Demon Palace Warriors each took out a Top-grade Spirit Essence Pill and swallowed it without a moment’s hesitation.

Lin Yun had known from the start that this would be the most difficult battle. That was why he had given every Demon Palace Warrior a Top-grade Spirit Essence Pill, saving it for this very moment to replenish their Elemental Power for the final fight.

After they swallowed the Top-grade Spirit Essence Pills, the Elemental Power in their bodies rapidly recovered. Gripping their Spirit Soldiers tightly, they charged toward the Divine Palace Warriors at Lin Yun’s command.

”KILL...!”

They roared in unison. In the very first exchange, Lin Yun and his men unleashed all of their remaining power. This was the final battle, the one that would decide everything. For both the Divine Palace and the Demon Palace, they could only win; they could not afford to lose.

If Lin Yun’s group lost, all their previous efforts would be for nothing. Moreover, the Second Commander would rush to join forces with Qing Zhu and could very well annihilate the main Demon Palace army led by the Grand Commander.

The Divine Palace had its own reasons it couldn’t lose. If Qing Zhu’s forces were annihilated, the Demon Palace’s overall strength would surpass their own. With the Demon Palace also possessing a squad with such terrifying Combat Power, the Divine Palace would likely be no match for them in the future.

Both sides summoned their last reserves of strength, betting everything on this final battle.

The four thousand Divine Palace Warriors no longer showed any fear as they faced the mere fifty-two remaining Demon Palace Warriors. They too seemed to understand that this battle would decide the final outcome.

”Kill!” Dozens of Divine Palace Warriors swarmed a single Demon Palace Warrior. Unlike before, they were truly fighting to the death to kill their opponents.

However, facing the onslaught, the Demon Palace Warriors showed no fear. Gripping their Spirit Soldiers tightly, they continued to reap the lives of the Divine Palace Warriors.

’In battle, trust only yourself and the Spirit Soldier in your hand.’ This was what Lin Yun had told the Demon Palace Warriors, and they had executed it perfectly.

The two sides had barely clashed, yet bodies were already starting to tumble down the hillside from the battlefield.

At this moment, slaughter became the overriding reality of this space. No one hesitated, whether from the Divine Palace or the Demon Palace. Every blow was delivered with the absolute determination to kill.

As before, Lin Yun was the primary target, besieged by as many as five hundred Divine Palace Warriors. The battle had only just begun, and though he had already killed five of them, a sword had pierced through his abdomen.

Blood poured from the wound, but Lin Yun had no time to spare it a glance, as Divine Palace Warriors relentlessly charged at him.

A dozen men attacked Lin Yun simultaneously. Facing their assault, he swept the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear in a wide arc through the air. Their weapons were sheared in two as if they were made of tofu.

Now disarmed, their owners were helpless as Lin Yun immediately executed his Red Flame Spear Technique. A dense, purple flame engulfed the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear. With each thrust, a Divine Palace Warrior was incinerated by the violet blaze.

As the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear ran the last man through, several more swords found their mark on Lin Yun’s body. The enemy’s numbers were simply too overwhelming. ’If I only focus on dodging,’ he thought, ’I’ll never kill any of them.’

Sometimes, he had to trade an injury for a kill, and he did so without hesitation. It was the only way to have even a sliver of a chance at victory.

Blood streamed from his body like rain, but Lin Yun paid it no mind. After a full night of fighting, the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear in his hand had long ago been stained from its original white to a deep blood-red.

Its white shaft was completely caked in blood, giving it an eerie appearance that radiated dense killing intent.

The Second Commander and Third Commander stood outside the fray, neither having made a move yet. Their gazes were fixed solely on Lin Yun, ignoring everything else.

”With injuries that severe, he must be on the verge of death,” the Third Commander sneered, observing Lin Yun’s grievous wounds.
