Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 949, Seems Like We Don’t Need to Act Anymore

Translator: Silavin

Seizing this opportunity, Mikami Saburo and Seifu Murasaki continuously retreated, attempting to evade the Golden Asura Guard’s attacks as much as possible.

However, their strategy of using Human lives to block the enemy could not buy them much more time.

For the Golden Asura Guards, killing these Players was merely a matter of a single spear thrust. Thus, after annihilating the Players that Seifu Murasaki had thrown at them, the Golden Asura Guard closed in once more.

The Golden Asura Guard indeed possessed exceptionally high intelligence, as they had already discerned that everyone trapped in the palace had absolutely no escape route.

Therefore, they merely drifted forward slowly, unhurried and unperturbed, seemingly wanting to let Seifu Murasaki and the others savour the taste of fear before their deaths.

And their objective was indeed being realised.

At this moment, Seifu Murasaki and Mikami Saburo had completely lost their composure.

Mikami Saburo repeatedly used Skills, attempting to resist these ferocious Monsters.

However, when his Attacks landed on them, they had absolutely no effect whatsoever.

As for Crowd Control Skills, they were all broken through one by one.

Although these Skills did indeed slow their  advance, they were fundamentally insufficient to truly obstruct them and allow them to escape from danger.

Seifu Murasaki also recognised this point, so what she could do was even more ruthless than Mikami Saburo.

She continuously acted, capturing other Players and hurling them towards the Monsters, forcing these Players to engage with them in their place.

Her behaviour drastically reduced the number of Players, but it was genuinely effective in slowing the Golden Asura Guards’ forward momentum.

After all, these Golden Asura Guards seemed extremely bloodthirsty, and their methods were exceptionally brutal. When killing, despite clearly possessing the ability for an instant kill, they would always attack the Players’ non-vital areas, allowing these Players to experience more pain before death.

Watching them surround the Players, using the long spears in their hands to gradually crush them starting from their limbs… One by one, the Players died in excruciating agony, ultimately receiving a spear through the heart.

Everyone’s hearts filled with immense terror as they fled in panic.

Seifu Murasaki was even more frightened than they were. She simply could not imagine the scene of herself being treated this way. Therefore, she began using Skills to throw out more Players, letting the Golden Asura Guard kill them.

Meanwhile, she herself continuously retreated alongside Mikami Saburo, contemplating how they might escape.

Among the frantically scattering crowd, five people were particularly conspicuous.

They were precisely Lu Fan’s five-person group.

The Golden Asura Guards were indeed terrifying, but only to ordinary Players.

In Lu Fan’s eyes, these Monsters were mere beings he could eliminate with a flick of his finger.

Jin Zhan was in a similar position.

As Dragon Country’s Supreme Commander, having also acquired the Divine Seat from the Darkness Ancient God, even though Jin Zhan’s strength was far weaker compared to Lu Fan, dealing with the Golden Asura Guard before him presented no problems whatsoever.

As for the weakest members of the team, Tao Xiaoman and the others, they naturally were not opponents for the Golden Asura Guards.

However, with two experts like Lu Fan and Jin Zhan beside them, what did they have to fear!?

Tao Xiaoman blinked her eyes, watching the people frantically fleeing around them, screams of terror resounding continuously, feeling somewhat awkward for a moment.

“Lu Fan.” She asked Lu Fan beside her. “Don’t you think we should also act a bit? At least make ourselves appear frightened?”

Lu Fan smiled and said, “No need. I feel like we don’t need to act anymore. They will be completely wiped out soon enough. Next, it’ll be our turn to continue searching for the Ancient Gods.”

Jian Ying beside them sighed wistfully, “That’s a little late. So many people got killed by the Monsters already. If only we acted earlier, and just quickly ended this ruse.”

This comment left Lu Fan both amused and exasperated.

The five of them just stood there motionless, which undoubtedly appeared extremely suspicious.

However, right now everyone was fleeing for their lives. Who could possibly notice them?

At this moment, Seifu Murasaki and Mikami Saburo, pressed back continuously by the Golden Asura Guards, had arrived not far from Lu Fan and the others.

After Seifu Murasaki threw two more people out, she spotted Lu Fan’s group in the distance.

She immediately commanded in a loud voice, “You people, quickly get up there and kill these Monsters!”

This commanding tone made Lu Fan want to laugh.

[At a time like this, still acting like some big shot!?] Lu Fan simply stopped pretending, rolled his eyes and said. “Why don’t you get up there yourself?”

“!!!???” Seifu Murasaki was clearly stunned, never having imagined that among the accompanying Players, there would actually be someone who dared speak to her this way.

However, she could not think about it for too long. She merely assumed that in the face of enormous terror, others no longer cared about her identity, which was why they showed such disrespect.

Seifu Murasaki, both anxious and angry, reached out to grab them, saying coldly. “I’m telling you to go up, so you’ll go up! Being able to shield me is your honour. In the future, we will treat your Clans generously!”

Having spoken, she released her Skill.

Immediately, a current of air condensed, seemingly transforming into a pair of large hands that controlled Lu Fan and the others, then attempted to push them before the Golden Asura Guards.

Lu Fan smiled slightly, using Dragon Language Replication to replicate Jade Light, then with a wave of his hand, easily removed all the Crowd Control Effects on everyone.

Seifu Murasaki never imagined that her Skill would actually fail on others. Her eyes widened at once, realising something seemed to be amiss.

Because she was a Fifth Profession Player, having grasped a sliver of Divine Power. Even if the opponent had a Debuff Removal Skill, under the World Mechanics, her Skill still should have taken effect.

[How did they so easily break free from my Crowd Control Skill? Could there be a Fifth Profession or higher Player among them!? How could that be possible!?]

Just as Seifu Murasaki stood dazed, Lu Fan had already begun walking towards her.

Seeing Lu Fan’s ill intentions, Seifu Murasaki immediately released Skills continuously, attempting to attack Lu Fan.

However, when her Skills landed on Lu Fan, he did not even Defend. He just took them all directly, showing absolutely no signs of injury.

These Skills did not even cause his steps to pause in the slightest.

It seemed Seifu Murasaki’s Damage were merely ticks to Lu Fan.

As for Crowd Control Skills…

What Crowd Control Skills!? Were they not just a breeze?

Seifu Murasaki could not obstruct Lu Fan’s footsteps at all. She could only watch him walk towards her step by step.

This sense of oppression from him alone completely surpassed that of dozens of Golden Asura Guards!
