Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 921, The Most Miserably Deceased Divinity

Translator: Silavin

Lu Fan was a Dragon Tamer, not a ‘Snake Tamer’.

In fact, if it was not a Dragon King, Lu Fan had little interest in collecting it as a Pet.

This ‘Flame God’, though technically a Divine Being, was an existence that could rampage unchallenged across Dragon Country. If the Ancient Noble Families did not emerge to stop it, and if super experts like Jin Zhan and Elder Jin did not come out to suppress it, it could indeed swagger about freely.

But ultimately, it merely held the advantage of Level.

Without its Level advantage, its strength was nothing special.

After all, Lin Dong could thrash it like a toy.

If Lin Dong were at the same Level as it, this battle would be even more one-sided.

So, even when the Flame God offered to become Lu Fan’s Pet, Lu Fan could not be bothered to waste a Pet Slot on it.

And besides, did he even need it as a Pet?

Killing it and turning it directly into a Fallen Corpse Puppet would be far more convenient. After all, a living Divine Being was nowhere near as obedient as a dead one.

At Lu Fan’s command, the Pet Dragons showed no mercy, unleashing their Skills towards the Flame God.

Seeing Lu Fan’s killing intent was resolute, and that no amount of begging would spare its life, the Flame God roared furiously. Flames erupted across its entire body, like a Demon bathed in fire. “Since you’re forcing me into a dead end, don’t blame me for taking a bite out of you before I die! So what if they’re Giant Dragons? I’ll drag one of your Pet Dragons down with me, and make you regret your decision to kill me today!”

The Flame God thrashed its body wildly, shrieking as it charged towards Ji Ji.

Through the previous battle, it had gradually discerned that Ji Ji was the weakest combatant among all the Pet Dragons.

Unlike the other Pet Dragons that looked truly formidable, Ji Ji seemed to dodge and evade during combat, appearing to be afraid to engage.

Of course, there was one other such Pet Dragon, which was that emerald green Giant Dragon.

However, that one remained hidden behind Lu Fan and the other Pet Dragons, applying Buffs to everyone. So, it would be virtually impossible for the Flame God to attack it.

Thus, Ji Ji became its primary target.

Its plan was simple: before dying, it would kill at least one of Lu Fan’s Pet Dragons.

If possible, it would have loved to kill Lu Fan as well. But Lu Fan rode on Ye Sha, and was capable of turning invisible at any moment and launching sudden airborne assaults with extremely deadly attacks.

Previously, the Flame God had repeatedly attempted to ‘capture the king first’ by killing Lu Fan. However, there was never any opportunity. Instead, it had suffered multiple severe injuries.

So, after releasing its Skills, its entire body radiating blazing flames, it lunged towards Ji Ji.

Ji Ji immediately panicked, attempting to dodge, but could not match the Flame God’s speed.

After all, the Flame God had clearly activated some kind of Buff Skill, causing its Speed to surge dramatically, far beyond what a Support Specialised Dragon like Ji Ji could compare to.

Watching the Flame God charge so resolutely towards Ji Ji, intent on mutual destruction, Lu Fan was utterly bewildered.

He never imagined that the Flame God would be so bold as to target the absolute worst possible opponent.

[Brother, Ji Ji… has an Undying Body. What’s the point of biting her!?]

[Actually, Xiao Cui is the same. You know, if you try to take a bit out of Xiao Cui, I don’t think I could really comment much, since she seems completely normal. But Ji Ji? Are you looking for a quick death? She doesn’t even have a true physical form. She is fundamentally a mass of poison. Biting her is no different from consuming poison!]

At this moment, Lu Fan had no time to warn the Flame God against such recklessness. No, even if he did, it would not listen.

Under Lu Fan’s astonished gaze, the Flame God bit down on Ji Ji.

Ji Ji cried out “Ji ji!” twice before her body exploded in mid-air, transforming into a cloud of Poisonous Mist.

Naturally, part of her directly entered the Flame God’s mouth and infested its body, while the rest scattered through the air, landing on the Flame God’s scales without much waste.

The Flame God’s body paused mid-air, then immediately released earth-shattering screams, beginning to roll frantically on the ground!

When such an enormous body, writhed on the ground like a maggot, it naturally created devastating destruction all around. Lu Fan could only lead the Pet Dragons into the air, looking down with pitying eyes at the Flame God’s miserable state.

Poisonous Mist continued emanating from within its body, and its outer scales began showing signs of corrosion.

Those festering areas bore countless Poison Effects: Corrosion, Ulceration, Decay, and more. Any single one of these Effects would make someone lose half their life just solely to the pain.

The external change alone was already this severe. Lu Fan dared not imagine what the Flame God’s internal condition must be.

It was no wonder the Flame God was in such agony.

Anyone who could bite towards Ji Ji was definitely a brave Soul. The Flame God’s death was not unjust. At the very least, it had earned Lu Fan’s ‘respect’.

Soon, the Flame God’s struggle weakened.

The poison had spread across its entire body.

Such severe injuries meant that even as a Divine Being, survival was impossible.

Finally, its broken body went completely stiff, lying twisted on the ground, its vitality completely extinguished.

From the wounds, wisps of Poisonous Mist rose, eventually gathering mid-air to reform Ji Ji’s body.

Ji Ji’s body appeared noticeably more robust than before. Clearly, when she had transformed into Poisonous Mist and ravaged the Flame God’s insides, she had absorbed a ton of its vitality to strengthen herself.

Though Ji Ji had single-handedly caused the Flame God’s death, she remained quite timid.

After condensing her body, she immediately rushed to Lu Fan, rubbing against him continuously, apparently seeking comfort.

Lu Fan could not help but laugh. [You little poisonous thing, why are you still so frightened? Why don’t you take a glance at what had become of the Flame God that had dared to bite you?]

[It probably had the most miserable death as a Divine Being ever… Still, since it had committed countless evils over the years, such an evil being truly deserved to be tortured to death like this. How many people had it devoured? Must be at least a hundred thousand!]

With the Flame God’s death, Lu Fan and all his Pet Dragons were bathed in golden light.

At this moment, Lu Fan and his Pet Dragons had all reached Level 121.

Lu Fan was overjoyed. “Finally. We’ve overcome the bottleneck and Levelled Up!”

After such a long time of hunting Divine Beings, the Experience Points Lu Fan had gained finally allowed him to successfully break through the Level 120 threshold, officially reaching his Fifth Profession!

At this moment, Lu Fan felt his understanding of his own Profession deepen considerably.

He opened his Attribute Panel and discovered that it had completely transformed. Even the Profession had changed to his new Fifth Profession.
