Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 942, Breaking the City!

Translator: Silavin

After reaching agreement, Mikami Saburo, Seifu Murasaki, and Nichirin Takeshi immediately gave orders for everyone to launch attacks against the golden city wall.

As long as they shattered this surrounding wall, they could enter the Imperial City.

The thickness of this golden city wall was temporarily impossible to estimate. However, since it had been used by people of the previous era to resist foreign enemies, one could imagine just how solid and thick it must be.

After all, the Asura Guards appearing in the outer region were already Level 110. There were even Level 120 Monsters out here.

These Monsters must have originally been of even Higher Level in the previous era.

After all, having gone through a whole change in era, these living beings from the ancient era had perished in the transition and were now basically resurrected skeletal remains. Their existence closely resembled some Undead Type Monsters that had been resurrected after death.

But after resurrection, their strength inevitably could not match what it had been before. Moreover, without special Map Mechanics influencing them, their strength would only gradually degrade with the passage of time.

In other words, these Asura Guards in the previous era should each have been extraordinarily powerful Monsters, with Levels at least above 120!

For a wall built by beings of Level 120 and above to resist foreign enemies, one could imagine how solid this golden city wall must be!

If they could return to the previous era, even if Nichirin Takeshi’s group multiplied their numbers by tenfold, they still would not be able to  break through this golden city wall.

However, now, the golden city wall had gone through the era’s change along with Monsters like the Asura Guards, with its solidity reduced to less than ten percent of what it had been.

Therefore, with everyone, they might really be able to blast open a gap in the golden city wall and enter the Imperial City.

Under the orders of Mikami Saburo, Seifu Murasaki, and Nichirin Takeshi, all Damage Dealers spread out in formation and began releasing Skills to attack the point designated by the three leaders.

Even some Frontliners and Supporters released their Damage Dealing Skills, bombarding the golden city wall to contribute some Damage Output.

For a time, the brilliance of Skills was scattered everywhere. Countless Skills were falling in succession, striking the golden city wall until it trembled continuously.

However, although everyone’s total Damage Output was not low, after bombarding the golden city wall, it showed absolutely no Damage whatsoever!

The golden city wall accepted everyone’s Skills in full, yet still stood unshaken.

This scene made Nichirin Takeshi and the others furrow their brows.

Finally, Seifu Murasaki could bear it no longer and personally took action.

She spread both arms wide, and immediately the Mage Robe on her body rose without wind, billowing outward.

The next second, countless wind blades continuously flew from her body.

When these wind blades first flew from her body, they were only palm-sized. However in mid-air, the wind blades continuously expanded and became sharper.

Eventually, each wind blade reached over three meters long, with considerable power!

And the number of these wind blades totalled over a hundred!

The continuous barrage of wind blades bombarding the golden city wall finally had an effect.

Although the golden city wall showed no signs of cracking, one could clearly see a large section had been pressed inward!

This change gave many people renewed hope, and they began attacking the golden city wall with even greater intensity.

The material of the golden city wall really was very similar to gold.

It was not hard. In fact, it was somewhat soft.

But precisely because of this softness, it had allowed the wall to dissipate most of their attacking force, distributing most of the Damage it received to other locations.

Therefore, the golden city wall’s durability far exceeded everyone’s expectations.

But even so, this golden city wall was ultimately just a product of the previous era. Being able to hold the ability to restrict Players in the surrounding area from flying was already remarkable. Expecting it to still possess the robustness of the previous era was basically asking for the impossible.

Besides Seifu Murasaki, even Nichirin Takeshi and Mikami Saburo successively attacked with their Skills.

With these three top-tier experts taking action, the golden city wall’s defence became increasingly poor.

After a full two hours or so of everyone’s continuous attacks, the golden city wall deformed ever more severely, until finally it began showing signs of melting!

Seeing this, everyone became even more excited and animated, throwing out various Skills without reservation, striving to break through this wall as soon as possible.

Finally, in the third hour, amid everyone’s excited outcries, over thirty meters of the golden city wall collapsed with a thunderous crash.

*Bang!!!*

The collapsed wall became like clay, looking soft and pliable, as though melted by the power of everyone’s Skills.

However, the melted golden clay did not just lie motionless on the ground. Instead, as if possessing life, it actively gathered together while wriggling toward the opening in the wall.

It looked like they were trying to reform the wall, blocking the opening everyone had opened up.

Seeing this, Mikami Saburo and the others immediately ordered everyone to quickly pass through, not waiting for this strange golden city wall to heal up again. Otherwise, re-opening it would require another three hours.

Three hours was not long, but even for these Fourth Profession Players, three continuous hours of attacking placed enormous strain on their Stamina and Mana.

Led by Mikami Saburo, everyone quickly crossed the opening and entered the Imperial City.

However, an accident occurred at this very moment.

Three people, being the last to enter the Imperial City and hesitating as they entered, ended up stumbling when passing through the golden city wall and became bound by the continuously healing wall.

They stepped into the soft clay of the golden city wall and were unable to pull their legs out for a moment.

Immediately, all three panicked, seeking rescue.

Unfortunately, even if those nearby held their hands and pulled with all their might, they simply could not free them.

Watching the soft clay continuously gather upward, about to seal them inside the golden city wall, one Close Combat Player was decisive. He actually severed his own legs with one sword stroke and fled.

The other two were not as fortunate though. Not daring to sever their own bodies, they could only watch helplessly as the golden city wall continuously rose, sealing their bodies within.

Under everyone’s gaze, the golden city wall was back in shape, while the two who had not escaped in time were embedded inside, with only their hands visible, protruding from within the walls.

They could only painfully grasp their last moment before even their lungs got filled…

In the end, their arms hung down powerlessly and their corpses got completely fused with the golden city wall.

This scene filled everyone present with dread.

If they had been just a bit slower, wouldn’t they have ended up the same way?
