Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 939, Nichirin Takeshi Shows His Might

Translator: Silavin

During this period, Lu Fan and the others naturally appeared to use Skills enthusiastically, yet when checking their Damage Output, it was less than others’ Single Target Skill.

In any case, basically everyone had a Hidden Profession, so no one knew what Skills were what. Just casually tossing out two Skills to look busy was enough.

Under Lu Fan and the others’ deliberate underperformance, this group actually began to suffer casualties.

As everyone continued forward, the Monsters that appeared, besides Asura Guards, also included entities called Asura Priests.

These Asura Priests held a golden vial and no one knew what it was for.

As soon as they released Skills, golden spikes would thrust out from the ground, dealing Explosive Damage.

Caught off guard, the Frontliners immediately suffered injuries.

There was no helping it. Asura Guards were originally merely Monsters that functioned as Tanks, that dealt Low Damage.

Frontliners had no problem holding them off, and with so many Backliners dealing High Damage Output, whose attack Skills came in various forms, it was extremely difficult for those Monsters to withstand so many people’s attacks.

But the Damage Output from Level 110 Monsters? They were not as easy to deal with.

When Offence and Defence switched roles, it was not good news for the Players.

Furthermore, the Asura Priests appeared suddenly, and the Frontliners had no time to prepare, so they immediately suffered heavy losses.

Seeing people getting injured, Lu Fan got excited.

Previously when dealing with Asura Guards, he had always acted as Support, giving the Frontliners some unnecessary Buffs.

Now that Supporters needed to truly take care of the Frontliners, Lu Fan immediately repositioned himself as a Damage Dealer, releasing Flame Totem and Lightning Totem, clearly appearing as a Damage Dealer.

In short, the main theme was: to help only when absolutely unavoidable.

The continuous golden spikes meant three Frontliners could not hold on, their bodies pierced through by the golden spikes, dying on the spot.

Fortunately, Mikami Saburo and the others reacted quickly.

Mikami Saburo used his Earth Wall Skill to intercept the opponents’ attacks, giving the backline Supporters time to heal the Frontliners while applying Buffs.

“Pure Tanks, to the front! Those that are only partial-Tanks, fall back! Don’t try to withstand this head-on!”

“The enemy has Damage Output Monsters now. You’re not Pure Tanks and can’t withstand their attacks!” Nichirin Takeshi commanded loudly, while he himself took out a Dragon Spear and pushed to the front.

He had a Knight Type Profession. Earlier when travelling, Lu Fan had seen him riding a Steel Armoured Pterodactyl.

Pterosaurs were not Giant Dragons but an Ancient Dinosaur.

Strictly speaking, they were barely a type of Earth Dragon, though their Attributes were far higher than Earth Dragons.

Now, wanting to charge forward to kill his enemies, Nichirin Takeshi did not choose the High Agility Attribute Flying Pet Pterosaur.

Instead, he chose an Armoured Ankylosaurus.

This Armoured Ankylosaurus’s appearance was somewhat similar to the Earth Dragon that Lu Fan had encountered before, belonging to another Dragon Tamer, Chen Tianzhi.

However, this Armoured Ankylosaurus wore heavy armour, clearly with Defence far exceeding the Earth Dragon.

After all, as leader of the Nichirin Clan, Nichirin Takeshi’s strength was definitely not to be underestimated.

Now riding the Armoured Ankylosaurus and wielding a Dragon Spear, he was simply a mobile fortress!

Riding the Armoured Ankylosaurus, Nichirin Takeshi directly crashed through the Earth Wall set up by Mikami Saburo and charged into battle.

Nichirin Takeshi was, after all, a Player above Level 110. Facing the Asura Guards and Asura Priests, he was utterly fearless.

Holding the Dragon Spear, he thrust once, and golden light enveloped the spear tip, transforming into a beam of light dozens of metres long that brutally bombarded an Asura Guard.

The Asura Guard, a Tank Monster, actually could not withstand this single strike and was killed instantly.

Not only that.

When that golden light struck the ground, it actually caused a violent explosion, sending the Asura Guards in front flying, forcibly creating a defensive gap.

“Kill!” Nichirin Takeshi controlled the Armoured Ankylosaurus and charged forward, targeting the Asura Priests directly.

One Asura Guard reacted and tried to use Asura Storm to block Nichirin Takeshi, but was sent flying by the Armoured Ankylosaurus’s headbutt.

The Asura Priests sensed the approaching danger and activated their Skills.

Golden spikes thrust towards Nichirin Takeshi, while the Armoured Ankylosaurus roared, manifesting a ring of scale-like shields around itself that blocked all these golden spikes.

Although the shield’s Durability dropped rapidly and was soon broken through. However, it had already bought Nichirin Takeshi enough time.

Nichirin Takeshi had now charged to where the Asura Priests were located and began swinging his Dragon Spear to slaughter these Asura Priests.

The Asura Priests themselves were Damage Output Monsters with Low Defence and Health Pool.

Once a Frontliner like Nichirin Takeshi got close, even without using Skills, killing them was very easy.

In the blink of an eye, Nichirin Takeshi had killed all seven Asura Priests in the distance.

During this process, the Asura Priests used Skills that injured his Armoured Ankylosaurus, creating a significant wound in its abdomen.

However, many Supporters quickly applied Skills to the Armoured Ankylosaurus, soon allowing it to fully recover.

What remained to deal with were only the few remaining Asura Guards.

Nichirin Takeshi had no intention of continuing to attack and rode his Armoured Ankylosaurus back into the crowd, leaving the Asura Guards for others to handle.

The battle soon came to an end.

Ultimately, due to the Asura Priests’ sudden attack, Cherry Blossom Country lost three people.

This loss was not large, but having casualties after encountering just a few waves of Monsters was not good news.

Seifu Murasaki had not attacked throughout, and only after the battle ended did she wave her hand, causing three wind blades to appear from her palm and strike the three corpses.

Instantly, the corpses exploded into blood mist.

“What are you doing!?” Nichirin Takeshi was furious, as one of these three was from his Nichirin Clan.

Earlier, he had attacked because his Clan had suffered casualties and he got livid, charging forward to vent.

Seifu Murasaki glanced at him and said. “This is the Earth Tripartite, where Ancient Gods exist. Any situation is possible. These corpses cannot be left behind. I’ve heard that the Ancient Gods possess the power to manipulate corpses. If their corpses are affected by the Ancient God’s power and attack us, it would be too troublesome to deal with. Better to eliminate them cleanly before we proceed.”
