Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 84, The Second Dragon Tamer

When these teachers said these words, they all had their own interests in mind. After all, the rewards for the National Trial Secret Realm were really too rich. Even they, as top ten Universities, could not offer comparable conditions.

However, a large part of them being unable to accept it was because they genuinely felt it was inappropriate for Lu Fan to participate in the National Trial.

After all, this involved national dignity. Even if they put aside national dignity just to recruit Lu Fan, he might get killed while in the National Trial due to his Low Level. No matter how one looks at it, they had to oppose Dragon Capital University’s proposal.

Faced with everyone’s doubts and accusations, Gu Han was unconcerned. After everyone had finished speaking, she solemnly said, “Everything you’ve thought of, our principal has also considered. But he still allowed me to use the National Trial Secret Realm entry ticket as a condition to recruit Lu Fan. I think our principal must have his own considerations. Moreover, doesn’t this also show our school’s determination to cultivate Lu Fan well? If we didn’t invest all our school’s resources into him, Dragon Capital University wouldn’t dare to promise this entry ticket to Lu Fan, right?”

“But…” Another teacher wanted to object, but before this teacher could finish speaking, Gu Han smiled slightly and retorted, “Everyone, this entry ticket was won by our Dragon Capital University. It was done through fair competitions over the past two years. How to handle it, who to send to participate in the National Trial, is up to our Dragon Capital University’s discretion. If any accident truly occurs, our school will bear the blame ourselves. You don’t need to worry about us.”

“In any case, all of you certainly can’t produce an entry ticket for the National Trial, right?” Saying this, Gu Han looked at Lu Fan and solemnly said, “How about it, Student Lu? To recruit you, our Dragon Capital University has bet everything. If you’re still not satisfied, then Dragon Capital University has no way to offer more.”

Lu Fan slightly narrowed his eyes, seeming to be considering his choices.

In reality, Lu Fan was thinking about the National Trial.

He had not expected that when he was already planning to choose Dragon Capital University, Dragon Capital University would offer such a precious opportunity.

[National Trial? Interesting. If I can really come out on top, I might be able to obtain an Epic Grade item. The rewards are truly generous.] Naturally, Lu Fan had nothing more to say. Under Gu Han’s expectant gaze, he smiled and said: “I’ve decided. The University I want to enrol in is Dragon Capital University!”

As soon as these words were spoken, a smile appeared on Gu Han’s face.

The teachers from other Universities, on the other hand, were all very disappointed.

There was nothing they could do about it. Who told their Universities not to win the entry ticket for the National Trial?

Gu Han, while gratified, nodded and smiled at Lu Fan.”Good! Student Lu. Congratulations on becoming a member of Dragon Capital University! Later, I will officially send you the enrollment invitation. Seven days from now, you can set off to report to Dragon Capital University.”

At this point, Lu Fan suddenly asked. “Oh right, Teacher Gu, I have one more request for enrolling in Dragon Capital University. Can you help me apply for it?”

“Another request?” Gu Han was slightly taken aback, but then thought that since they had already gone this far, it would not hurt to go a little further. So, she asked: “What’s your request? As long as it’s not too difficult, I’ll try my best to accommodate you.”

Soon, news that South Province’s top student had finally chosen to enrol in Dragon Capital University spread quickly.

…

At the same time, in the Wilderness, about 300 kilometres from Qingzhou City, three off-road Jeeps were parked, with a group of Level 30 attendants guarding one of the vehicles, All were on full alert.

In the car sat a woman, interestingly crossing her long legs, watching a battle not far away.

This person was none other than the Extremistis Country’s Little Princess, Jin Zhu. Beside her was Cui Hongtai, who had recovered from his injuries, but Cui Hongtai’s expression was not good, appearing livid but not daring to speak.

Previously, Cui Hongtai was the top expert Jin Zhu brought from the Extremistis Country. He was deeply trusted by Jin Zhu, and was almost Jin Zhu’s personal bodyguard. At the time, he definitely held a prestigious status.

However, after nearly getting instantly killed by Lu Fan’s Dragon last time, Cui Hongtai’s status had plummeted. He was now no different from other bodyguards and attendants.

The root cause of the current scene, besides Cui Hongtai’s incompetence last time, was also this other person. To be more accurate, this man and Dragon, who were in a fierce battle with a Level 30 Gold Grade Boss not far away.

At this moment, not far from everyone, a young man about the same age as Lu Fan was wielding a Dragon Spear, battling with a Mountain Forest Stone Ape King.

This young man looked ordinary, dressed plainly, but his eyes were frighteningly bright, full of determination.

Even though he was accidentally hit by the Mountain Forest Stone Ape King and was injured, he could still get up and fight again.

This kind of perseverance was something that ordinary young people simply did not possess.

This young man was only Level 19. He alone was definitely not a match for a Level 30 Gold Grade Boss.

In the Wilderness, the Boss’s Level corresponds to equipment grade, with Mini Boss and next up the ladder being Ordinary Boss, Black Iron Grade Boss, Bronze Grade Boss, and so on.

This Gold Grade Boss’s strength was equivalent to a Nightmare Grade Boss in Secret Realms, and was particularly good at close combat. It was very difficult for Close Combat Professions to deal with.

If it was only this young man here, even ten of him would not be a match for this Mountain Forest Stone Ape King. However, he had a powerful Pet, an Armoured Earth Dragon.

This Armoured Earth Dragon was now Level 14, It was crawling on four legs, looking more like a Lizard. However, it had many Dragon characteristics, clearly having Dragon Bloodline, albeit very diluted.

The Armoured Earth Dragon, having reached Level 14, had a body over five metres long. It could be considered a behemoth among Pets and summons.

At least, compared to the Armoured Earth Dragon in terms of size, this Mountain Forest Stone Ape King had no advantage at all.

Watching their collision, it was clear that the Armoured Earth Dragon was not inferior to the Mountain Forest Stone Ape King in strength, and far surpassed the Boss in Endurance.

Each of its claw strikes and bites could leave wounds on the Mountain Forest Stone Ape King, while the Boss’s attacks seemed to have little effect on it.

This Armoured Earth Dragon was the main force in dealing with the Mountain Forest Stone Ape King, while the young man on the side, wielding the Dragon Spear, could frequently land hits, leaving wounds on the Mountain Forest Stone Ape King.

This Human and Dragon had been in a fierce battle with this Boss for a long time. Although there were many of Jin Zhu’s attendants around, all Level 30 Second Profession Change Players, none of them went to help. They were clearly testing the strength of this young man and the Armoured Earth Dragon.

*Roar!* The Mountain Forest Stone Ape King had been worn down to its last breath, but it still refused to be killed. It roared angrily and threw a heavy punch towards the Armoured Earth Dragon.

Seeing this, the young man immediately ordered. “Armoured Earth Dragon, use Back Sword Scales!”

The Armoured Earth Dragon immediately arched its back. On its back, there were already many sharp Dragon Scales, and now with Back Sword Scales activated, these scales stood up and grew outwards slightly, making the Armoured Earth Dragon look like a Dragon filled with ancient swords.

The Mountain Forest Stone Ape King’s punch landed on the Armoured Earth Dragon’s back scales. It immediately caused its hand to be pierced and bloodied.

In contrast, the Armoured Earth Dragon, after taking this punch, was completely unharmed. This showed just how incredibly strong its back defence was.

At this moment, the young man ordered again, telling the Armoured Earth Dragon to use Giant Tail Sweep.

The Armoured Earth Dragon suddenly turned, its thick tail sweeping over, striking the Mountain Forest Stone Ape King’s legs.

A chilling sound of bones breaking came from the Mountain Forest Stone Ape King’s legs, and it fell to the ground.

The young man did not miss this opportunity. He leaped up, holding the Dragon Spear, and stabbed towards the Mountain Forest Stone Ape King’s head, roaring: “Earth Dragon Strike!”

The tip of his spear suddenly glowed with a green light, greatly increasing the power of this strike. It directly pierced through one of the Mountain Forest Stone Ape King’s eyeballs, and the Dragon Spear continued into its brain, instantly killing this Level 30 Gold Grade Boss.

Immediately, golden light shone on both the young man and his earth Dragon. They had reached Level 20 and Level 15 respectively.

The young man was covered in blood, both his own and the Mountain Forest Stone Ape King’s.

This battle was not easy. After Levelling Up, he was panting heavily, but his face was full of joy.

Being able to kill a Level 30 Gold Grade Boss at Level 19 was something no one would believe if told, but he had done it!

Jin Zhu had been watching everything. Seeing the battle end, she smiled, clapped her hands slowly, then got out of the car and walked towards the young man.

“Not bad, not bad at all, Chen Tianzhi. You can even kill such a powerful Boss. You have not wasted the Dragon Egg I gave you!” Jin Zhu stopped in front of Chen Tianzhi.

Seeing Jin Zhu approach, Chen Tianzhi put aside his joy and ended his rest. He hurriedly lowered his head, like a servant, bowing and scraping. “I’m glad I didn’t disappoint Princess Jin!”

“In this major exam, both the Armoured Earth Dragon and I Levelled up several times, and I also received Silver Grade weapons and armour as rewards from the major exam, so I was able to deal with this Level 30 Gold Grade Boss.” Chen Tianzhi modestly said.

Everyone could see that his strength was not just due to good equipment and having a Pet Dragon.

For himself, his combat awareness was also exceptional, clearly showing he was a top student in school.

In fact, this was indeed the case. Chen Tianzhi actually had some similarities with Lu Fan. He also came from a Commoner background in Qingzhou City. In order to change his fate and live a better life, Chen Tianzhi worked extremely hard in school, ranking first in every subject.

However, during the Profession Change Ceremony, he seemed to be played by fate, changing into the useless and worthless Profession, Dragon Tamer.

For a time, Chen Tianzhi felt his life had fallen to rock bottom. However, after just a few days, Jin Zhu appeared, saying she could change his fate. As long as he agreed to some conditions, she would make him a person of high status.

These conditions were naturally the same as what Jin Zhu had proposed to Lu Fan. But unlike Lu Fan, Chen Tianzhi agreed.

Because he had had enough of living a hard life, he wanted to change his fate.

In the end, Jin Zhu’s Dragon Egg indeed changed his fate from then on.

Jin Zhu had her attendants take Chen Tianzhi to Level Up, and in just a few days, both he and the Dragon had reached Level 14 and Level 10 respectively.

Relying on the power of the Armoured Earth Dragon and the Dragon Tamer Profession, Chen Tianzhi successfully turned the tables in the major exam, becoming South Province’s second place student. The only one whose score was above him was Jin Zhu’s enemy, Lu Fan.
